My wife's birthday is in December so we thought we'd give it a try since we had guests in town also. The first sign was them trying to seat us in a booth next to a kitchen crash cart---I asked to be moved to a table away from the kitchen. Secondly I asked for a very dirty martini and there was hardly any olive juice in the drink. Not off on the right foot I guess. Third, my wife ordered escargot and I oysters rockefeller for appetizers. Both were flat and tasteless. My entree was just ok, my wifeended the nite sick from either her scallops or escargot. We often dine at Abe and Louie's but wanted to try someplace different. What a mistake. For the prices Trulucks charges, which are somewhat less than A&E, they don't even come close to the quality of preparedness. Music was nice. I certainly would not recommend to anyone. I am a Boca resident and will stick with Abe and Louie or Dorsia from now on. the waiter was fine but service just took too long between courses.
Usually a great meal. Went to Truluck's last year for Thanksgiving and had great food, great service, and the added bonus of being seated next to Adam Sandler's table. This year, however, was a completely different story. The waiter service was almost non-existent (the support staff was good). The food came out cold. My wife's salmon was completely raw in the middle. I asked to see the wine menu just before the food was served and the waiter didn't even bring it to me until AFTER I had finished eating. Absolutely horrific experience. Doubtful that we'll be returning again.
From the time we entered to the time we left we were treated very well by all the staff.
The food was excellent, matched by the service which was spot on and friendly.
My wife had a birthday, so they surprised us with a fabulous baked Alaska.
Albeit this is an expensive restaurant, for special occasions it is worth the price.
This meal was not enjoyable. The king crab was cold and they could not get the butter warmer to light (draft) so the butter was cold. One of the steaks was well done (ordered med rare). It was replace, perfectly, however, the rest of us were all done eating when the second steak got there. Our reservations were 5:15 EARLY FOR A SATURDAY NIGHT, we constantly tried to find our server or anyone to help.
We came here to celebrate our 9th anniversary. After making my OpenTable reservation, I called the restaurant and spoke to Dan. I explained how I’ve never been there before and asked if they have any special night. He answered they have All You Can Eat Stone Crab Claws for $80 something bucks per person every Monday nights. I said well that won’t work out because our anniversary is on a Wednesday night. He said he’ll assign a nice booth for us and have the Chef do something special for the occasion. I thanked him and hung up. The next day we arrived for our 7:30 pm reservation, we were greeted with Happy Anniversary and shown to our table. Dan was right, the booth is a nice corner booth and they had heart shaped rose petals on the table for us. What a nice touch! Our server Bill came to introduce himself and also greeted us Happy Anniversary. He came later on to take our order and recommended his fave dish - Grouper Ponchartrain, which I took. He also recommended the Miso Sea Bass for my partner. We ordered the Sauteed Mussels for appetizer which Bill warned of the huge size. Boy he was right. Easily portioned to share among three to four persons instead of two. Also, easily our favorite Sauteed Mussels dish anywhere. Later, our mains arrived and let me tell you, Bill was spot on! I really love my Grouper dish, with crawfish and shrimp. Full of flavor! Even better, it was one of the least expensive dish on the menu. My partner also thoroughly enjoyed his Sea Bass. Bill was very attentive and never did we feel rushed. He kept our water topped and checked with us quite often. For dessert, Bill showed up with Truluck’s version of Baked Alaska. He said complimentary of the chef and that the Chef also wished us a Happy Anniversary. We left with a full stomach and very satisfied of the whole experience. The staff really went above and beyond to make our special occassion even more special. We’re looking forward to our next visit here.
We were so looking forward to celebrating our Anniversary at Trulucks. Unfortunately, our experience was less the celebratory. Where we were were seated was in a high traffic area. The server seemed very disinterested in what he was there to do. It was if he had something better to do. My entree was supposed to be salmon bernaise and there was no bernaise and when I questioned it the server told me it was on there. I know what bernaise is and there was non on the dish. I asked for extra which he brought but it was curdled. So disappointed.
The first several times we have gone there the food and service was excellent! The last two times the service was more the lacking, the waiter never offered us the specials, or showed as the fresh crab choices, I had to ask several time for a drink refill, when our meals came my wife's stake did not come with a knife and my king crab was not served with a shell bowl or crab fork. The waiter asked if we wanted desert, I had to ask to see the desert tray, he came back with it about 15 minutes later, after that he dropped the check of and never asked if we would like anything else. We gave them a second chance but I doubt I will give a third! When they called the next day, I gave the caller my feed back and he stated the manager would be contacting me, it's almost been a week now and still have not heard from them!
Went to Truluck's before the Jetho Tull concert. Got there a about 4:30 and were directed to
the Happy Hour Bar area where we waited for our table. The atmosphere was very nice and the
drinks were made to order by our bar waiter. Thee mojito we ordered were excellent, most places can not make a good one.
Went to dinner and enjoyed our dinner greatly, was very impressed by the quality of the food and the wait staff was attentive and good. We ordered the Lobster tails and steak, both were
excellent. Noticed the cold shrimp being presented at other tables, will have that appetizer next time we go there. Looked like a great time was being had by all in the bar and the music sounded great.
We were really pleased by the phone call that came from staff member the following day. Nice touch, that just made our visit better. We will be going again. Great dining experience.
Very nice restaurant, low lighting, white tablecloths, special occasion kind of place. A little expensive too. We started with shrimp cocktail - nice presentation on dry ice, arriving with smoke coming from the top. Mains were grouper pontchartrain - most delicious fish dish I've had in a long time. My H had the Alaskan King Crab. He was originally going to have the cluster but was well upsold to the just in season King Crab for $79 and we shared the baked Alaska. Needless to say several glasses of wine each later, the bill was exceptional too!
Great night, great food, great service. And the baked Alaska Birthday dessert was a great end to a great night. Thank You. Server was excellent. One issue, Waiting 1/2 hour to 3/4 hours between courses was too long. 15-20 fine, our dinner took 3 hours to complete. Everything else was Stellar, give the waiter a promotion or an award, he was excellent, I will recommend my friends and family make it a must go to destination.
43rd wedding anniversary dinner was the special occasion my wife and I were celebrating. Truluck’s staff were quite welcoming and focused on providing outstanding service for us throughout the evening. Our table was nicely decorated with rose 🌹 petals done in a ❤️ shape. Nice touch. The rest of our culinary experience just kept getting better and better all the way to the deserts which were personalized and presented in an outstanding way. Thanks to Wayne, the manager, and his entire team including the Chef 👨🏼🍳 who personally delivered our main course 😋. Just an outstanding culinary experience 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽
We went for Monday night "all you can eat " stone crab. It was delicious and I highly recommend both the food and the service. Wedge salad was outstanding. Only way to improve the experience would be if they served ice cold draft beer. They only have bottles.
Overall it was good. The service was excellent. The fish dishes leave something to be desired. My wife ordered the salmon medium rare and it was overcooked. My sister-in-law ordered tuna which was not sushi grade. The filet mignon and strip steak were very good. JWB has good steak and fish.
Paul did an outstanding with everything from wine recommendations to dessert and everything in between. Pan seared scallops were incredible along with crab claws. The piano and vocalist perfectly complimented the service and overall ambience. Andy the manager called the next day to ensure we enjoyed our experience which was a nice touch. Five stars all the way.
