I surprised my wife with Dinner and a Jazz show in Austin. Truluck’s was definitely a phenomenal dining experience. The manager John and our server Thomas were both so attentive and welcoming. The food was sensational. We definitely will be back again. Highly Recommend! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Truluck's is simply outstanding in every respect. Not only is the food excellent, but the service is impeccable. They great you by name as you arrive making it seem as though you are visiting friends or family. Solid menu, good wine list that is not overpriced. Every staff member understands customer service. They connect with you. Then the next day, we get a call to find out if we enjoyed our dinner. Someone has their eye on the ball at Truluck's.
Trulucks never disappoints. From the time we entered & were greeted to the upstairs manager welcoming us the service was great. Our server Caitlin was very knowledgeable & provided helpful suggestions. We had stone crab claws of course, tuna & ponchitrain they were all excellent!
Absolutely a wonderful place and experience. The service and attention to detail was above and beyond. The food was excellent.
The review asked me to rate noise level, and as I sometimes have a difficult time getting a real feeling for a new place I included some observations that may help if you just aren't quite sure this place is for you..hope it helps! First,"noise" is not a great descriptor for this restaurant, in my opinion. Live music(piano and some live vocal performances) with other instruments/musical accompaniment was at entrance level by bar, hostess stand and some patrons were seated downstairs as well. Up the staircase on next level is where we happened to be seated. The room is open and allowed a reasonable mix of sounds from conversations while maintaining a low level background of live music carried from the floor below. No voice had to be raised for anyone to be heard by those at our table for 4, and that is an appropriate level in my view. The tall windows span floor to ceiling with views of the city all around. Clear windows! No pollen or dirt, and it was April... in Texas...The white ceiling to floor curtains dressing those tall windows serve their own visual in that setting, but also they are adjustable...obviously for lighting, but in my instance it was sunlight. I sat down not realizing I would be directly facing the sunset through the beautiful, clear windows. Before I could process the thought a white curtain's shade was drawn, electronically and absent the need for it to be requested. I don't find this level of attention very much so I mention it here. Mind you, all I describe preceded drinks or any food from the menu! To that end...We had great drinks, great service, amazing food in a beautiful setting, and attention to detail was icing on the cake! The baked Alaska may have been my icing...?! I will return.
We had a wonderful evening munching on stone crab celebrating my son-in-law’s birthday. We topped the evening with baked Alaska. Heavenly! Wonderful staff.
Best experience of my life made possible by the best waiter ever.
It was my first visit, cordial atmosphere, a very kind welcome, excellent music played by the singers, decoration, hygiene. the food ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️. all the workers are very friendly.
Great everything! Recommend the seafood coronation!
The food was amazing. Donald our server was excellent. Managers follow up call was pleasant and totally unexpected.
One of the best steakhouse experiences I’ve ever had. The perfectly seared, pink center bone-in ribeye was delicious. It came with a side of caramel-colored garlic cloves which were a great compliment. I had the crab cocktail for a starter and a side of Brussel sprouts which were crispy sweet.
I travel and enjoy nice restaurants. Truluck’s was spot on in every category. Can’t wait to visit again
The experience at Trulucks was absolutely amazing. From the time we walked in the door until we left, the staff and our waitress were superb. We had the Ceviche for our appetizer and it was excellent as was our main course. Truly a fine dining experience!
Amazing food and service. It is beautiful.
The dessert (bag) is phenomenal.
I have nothing bad to say excite maybe they should get another bathroom on the top floor. Haha
Really good food, helpful and attentive staff.... Wonderful meal!
This will be a regular business entertainment destination for every visit. Excellent food and service.
Was there for a girls weekend and everything was amazing from start to finish! Even got a follow up call the next day! Top notch!!
Much to like about this elegant restaurant. My blackened Ponchartrain fish was dry but others in the party were happy with theirs. The Ceasar salad was made with torn (not cut) lettuce and was pleasantly topped with boquerones rather than standard anchovy filets. The baked Alaska dessert was among the best I’ve had.
They were so amazing!! It was my first time celebrating any type of anniversary and it happened to be with my love and they made it absolutely perfect! From the moment we walked in, they seemed to be more excited for us than us lol. 10/10
It is a wonderful experience, starting with Eddie “Blue” behind the bar and continuing through a mouth-watering dinner. This place looks and tastes like a great steak restaurant should.
Truluck's is a classic. The downtown Austin location is one of our favorite places to dine and one of our first choices when we entertain guests. From the greeting by the host through the dinner service, everything is first class and very accommodating without being stuffy in the least. Food is in the top 5% of anything you will find in Austin, with a few items (like the in season Florida Stone crabs) unique to Truluck's. We go at least 6-7 times a year, and plan to continue. Make reservations, because they do fill up, especially weekends and holidays.
Professional welcoming staff. Extensive interesting menu. Food prep and presentation excellent. Generous portions. Best stone crab claws in memory. We will absolutely return.
We love everything about Truluck's. They have a wonderful bar and Eddie mixes great drinks and our waitress is always beyond great and so personable. The food was outstanding and this will be our yearly celebration dining experience!
The atmosphere and the entertainment was great. The staff was extremely kind.
Our waitress got our order wrong. She gave us the incorrect entree and an incorrect dessert. She also took our clients steak away without even asking if he wanted it to go.
However, she was friendly waitress.
I had Filet and my husband had Salmon, both delicious. I wish there were a baked potato on the menu. Service was wonderful.
The service is outstanding at Trucks. The food is very good, very pricey.
Excellent food with perfect service. A great meal had on a Wednesday evening. A must visit in Austin.
Fantastic service! Wonderful food. Great place for a intimate dinner or a large group.
This was a wonderful dining experience from start to end. They accommodated a last minute reservation change, seated us quickly at a nice table and the live and recorded music was very good. The service was impeccable and the food was beautifully presented and delicious, especially the sea bass with crab fried rice and miso glaze!
What an amazzzzzzzing dinner. The best service I have ever had at a restaurant. Literally was “white glove”. Food was superb
Attention to detail. Was greeted and seated by Riley, Managing Partner. Tom took great care of us. Food was amazing; wife had Miso Glazed Branzino and I had the Turf and Surf. Both were cooked to perfection. Brussel Sprouts were delicious! Oysters Rockefeller were average.
Bday . Great place
Upscale dining and amazing service and ambiance. Delicious food !
Truluck’s is always outstanding and our last experience was no exception. If I was to make one observation against that statement it was that our food was slow in coming out this time. Also, the service was not quite as attentive as usual, which was interesting since they were not that busy. But still an evening to remember as always!
Soup was cold, steak was seared but ordered medium rare. Crab fried rice was not warm and want as good as Eddie
V’s Not up to
Went there with my girlfriend for your anniversary and they made us feel very welcomed and special for it. They went the extra mile to put rose pedals on our table and even gave us a free dessert the said “happy 2 years” on the plate! This was our second time going here and we will definitely be celebrating here every chance we get!
We were unavoidably detained (travel delays) and were almost 2 hours late for our reservation. I called to inform the restaurant and they could not have been more gracious or accommodating. We were seated promptly and proceeded to have a lovely dinner. Thanks for being so flexible.
Truluck’s is always good, but they’ve upped their game recently to outstanding. The new rolls they make are so buttery and delicious that they don’t even need to be buttered, though I did anyway. The Sonoma salad was perfect, light and crisp and almost silky, and was big enough for my husband and I to split. The stone crab claws were fresh and chilled, with excellent sauce on the side, and the baked Alaska dessert with Oreo crumbs in it was simply amazing. Truly, don’t let the fact that this place is part of a chain fool you; it’s one of the finest restaurants in Austin, and in a foodie town like Austin, that says something.
Excellent food quality. Front door host was exceptional. Wait service team at table was poor and inadequate.
