Service was perfect, food was magnificent. Exceeded expectations.
Thank you for making my Father's day memorable. As usual, great service and wonderful food. Missed seeing Louis Saliba. Perhaps next time. Thanks again. The music was a bit too loud at first, but the waiter did turn it down at once. They did screw up the meal (should have been no mushroom but instead came with extra mushrooms) but the waiter was phenomenal, was extremely apologetic, did not even charge us (should have charged us). Thank you again for making it PERFECT.
Not my best experience at Trulucks. I like this place generally, but the food was off and the atmosphere was not the same on this last trip. I will definitely go back, but it seemed a little off this trip.
At 7:45 on a Saturday night, after advertising availability of stone crabs, they were out. Then, we waited almost an hour for our entre's to be served. The kitchen needs an improvement in management.
I was disappointed about our appetizer. We ordered the chilled platter. We were told that they were out of the crap claw and a shrimp and a oyster. I would have been embarrassed to serve the oysters. It should never been used as a replacement for a crap claw. The oysters were small and not good. Can’t really taste something you really can’t see. The waiter and manager did address the problem and substituted several big shrimp, but it still not the same as the crap claws!
Our experience was quite nice. The service was personalized and the food was very good, as it always has been for our past visits. We most definitely will be back.
Greeted by the GM after being seated.........who left his business card on the table should we need to contact him. Very professional & classy. Made us feel wanted & appreciated. Small dash of confetti left on the table to acknowledge/remind everyone of special occasion (date's birthday).. Looked like rose petals were being left for those celebrating an anniversary. Another nice touch!! Our server, Gerry, could not have been more accomodating & helpful.. Gerry also gave us his card as we were leaving.. I have been to III Forks, The Mansion, etc. and never received better service. I would recommend a booth if your party is small enough, probably 4 max. It was cozy, comfortable & romantic!! WE WILL RETURN!!!! AND, REQUEST GERRY!!
Always love to celebrate at Truluck’s. Our service was attentive, we were seated in a timely fashion, and food was yummy. Appreciate the special touch of the “happy birthday” baked Alaska.
Just had a special dinner here for a colleague. Was impressed with the food, service, and wine list. Wonderful seafood options! Hope to come back for another meal!
My wife and I frequent Truluck's several times a year for anniversaries and birthdays and we absolutely love this placeit's our all time favorite, customer service is above reproach and our waiter Ryan is the best we've ever had wait on us.
Like always it was delicious and the staff amazing
Great service and love the remodel. Lobster bisque was excellent as always. Raw oysters were good as well. Redfish entree was not good at all. A couple of us had it and it was very salty. Being from New Orleans, I have an appreciation for good fish that is seasoned right. This fish was not seasoned correctly. I probably should have said something but didn't feel like dealing with it.
I would give Truluck's 5 stars if it weren't for one drawback: the music in the bar is TOO LOUD. You have to shout to be heard! What's the point of that? We planned our special occasion to include cocktails in the bar, but headed to our table early since we couldn't enjoy our conversation. The drinks were good, the food was excellent, and our waiter a real pro. But the bar, which is otherwise a great spot, was just too annoying. The musician seemed to think he was giving a concert, not providing background music.
Always Top Notch food and service. This is our favorite place for special events. I highly recommend Trulucks
we went there to celebrate my husbands birthday. The atmosphere, food and attentive staff were great. We had a wonderful time.
The creamed spinach was not great. Our waiter in the dining room, Ryan, was great. Our waiter and the bar was also great, but I don’t remember his name . All staff very attentive.
This was a special occasion: family members that I had not seen in more than 20 years came to Austin! They loved the experience! They made us feel very welcomed! Like we were special! The food and the service were fantastic! The customer service is over the top! They were very accommodating for us. Loved by all 4 of us!
We were celebrating a birthday & the staff definitely made the experience feel like a special occasion! Our waiter, the food, ambience were great. The surprise happy birthday Baked Alaska at the end was a perfect way to end a special evening.
Always a special place for a special occasion. The atmosphere, food and service are exceptional. You never feel hurried and I have never been disappointed. I especially enjoy the opportunity to have quiet conversation without being overwhelmed by the music or kitchen noise in the background. I have made it my spot for any special event.
Food was good, but nothing special. There are better seafood restaurants than Truluck’s for the cost.
The food was amazing as always. Waiter was super nice. Great Job!
We’ve enjoyed Truluck’s for years as a good, quiet, adult restaurant for seafood. Our service was impeccable.
Unfortunately, I was served a spoiled raw oyster, but did not eat it. It stank, and I don’t understand how the kitchen staff could have put that on a plate. Our waiter brought me a fresh replacement, but that kind of spoiled the evening.
Truluck's made a special occasion meal feel genuinely special. At the specific request of the guest of honor, we dined at Truluck's -- and are very glad we did. From the start (warm greeting; festive decoration on the table) to finish (a single red rose for the birthday girl), Truluck's made the evening feel important. Stover, our waiter, was perfect: attentive and informative - without being silly or hovering. And, Louis Saliba - the Aboretum location's General Manager, checked on us shortly after we arrived, served our guest of honor her entree, and presented her with a rose when she left. Our dinners were very good: the tuna tartare tower whic we shared among four diners; the miso-glazed seabass (a Truluck's specialty), the filet oscar royale (another specialty - ordered, and presented, rare); the chef's flite (7 oz filet, with shrimp, crab, and bearnaise), and the prime New York strip. Dessert was a complimentary baked Alaska...which was scrumptious. (The baked Alaska was lit with the words "Happy Birthday"!)
A footnote which highlight the great service: the New York strip had been ordered with asparagus, not the parmesan mashed potatoes which came with. Louis himself immediately ensured the asparagus was delivered - beautifully cooked...not overcooked.
Since we enjoy dining as an experience, we were delighted with our evening at Truluck's Arboretum.
Out of town guests
Trulucks is a lovely restaurant and a neighbourhood gem. Delicious food, gracious service and carrot cake is a must on every visit. Trulucks never disappoints.
Truluck's continues to impress. The service and food were both excellent.
Our waiter was the bomb....Jonathan you the man!!! Thank you for making my daughter feel special on her birthday:)
It's was terrific. Our server was just the BEST!
Fred James was excellent!
Wonderful meal with excellent service. The meal ended with a great surprise “Baked Alaska” dessert, my new favorite desserts.
The food ans service was excellent and I even got a call the next day asking if I had enjoyed my visit and if I had had any issues. Could not have asked for better care ;) Thoroughly enjoyable and I shall keep returning.
Great all around. Will visit again
At first we were to be seated at a 6-top 'oval' which was right by the swinging kitchen doors. Did not like the location so they moved us to a large semi-circle booth which was fine for six gals. Oz our server was SO knowledgeable, very attentive and whip smart about the menu, wine, etc. Because of the table 'issue', they brought each of us a glass of champagne and we were also treated to amazing birthday desserts. I received a follow-up call yesterday to inquire about our visit and that was unexpected (these days) and a nice touch. They said they've put a note on my profile about not seating me next to the kitchen (I feel special now :))!
Thought there was a dress code. Guy next to us wore a grey T-Shirt. Very nice atmosphere. Greeted right away, seated and served. They had a special (steak) which I was tempted to get. Really enjoyed the ambience and the feel of the place. Our wait person was Holli and she was very nice and helpful. But she forgot the coffee at the end of the meal. But she took the coffee off our bill right away without hesitation. Will go back and hope to very soon.
Lovely Mother’s Day early dinner. Server, Ryan was very attentive and knowledgeable of food and wine. Good was excellent! Very special celebration!
It was great as always , we Gad a ver y nice time. Food was hood
I recommend Truluck's for high quality seafood. The entrees were excellent, the waiter was friendly and attentive. We were charged for an extra dish we did not order, but once pointed out, it was quickly corrected. Although much of the food was excellent, we were not a fan of the crab bisque, with it's strong flavor of goat cheese.
We came for lunch to celebrate my birthday and Mother’s Day with my mother. Our meal was outstanding and the service was excellent. We couldn’t have chose a better place to dine at.
Fabulous Mother’s Day brunch. We will be back!
Great meal and overall experience. Service was impeccable - Sheng was very knowledgeable about the menu - and the food was wonderfully prepared. Steaks were cooked perfectly, sea bass was delicious and the crab fried rice was an unexpected gem. It’s definitely a premium priced restaurant but certainly worth it for the quality they deliver.
