Great place to be!
We love this place. When you make your reservations if you state it’s for a special occasion they make your visit extra special. Great food. But the service and staff are out of this world amazing! Thank you all..
The seafood was absolutely perfect, staff was fantastic, it was a very nice night for us both!
Our experience this time around wasn't great. A lot of that was under the control of our server. She just wasn't present. Our dinner took a little over an hour to hit the table... and I think we had seen our server 3 times at that point. My wife's dinner (Chilean Sea Bass) was undercooked and they did comp her meal and give her a nice little shrimp cocktail to make up for it... but the real drag here was that everything seemed to drag out and the server was in no hurry until we got impatient after she gave us the wrong check. Then when she returned with the corrected check, the survey device was conveniently not brought with it... we were so excited to go again after our 4 star experience the last time... we may not be back now.
We went her for our anniversary dinner. We made reservations so when we arrived we were seated immediately. We were asked if it was a special occasion and they took note of it being our anniversary. The hostess and waitstaff were very friendly. Very nice ambiance. The restaurant had subdued lighting, perfect for a romantic dinner. They had a singer playing piano but his vocals were flat and it was kind of distracting. It was a relief when they changed over to station music. Our server was attentive. The bread was warm but the butter could have been a bit softer. We tried the jumbo shrimp cocktail with atomic sauce and lump crab cake for our appetizer. Both were excellent. For our main course my husband had a bone in rib eye and I had a 7oz filet with a lobster tail. Or steak and filet were cooked perfectly and very tender. I found my lobster to be a little tough. I had to use a knife to cut it. The warm lemon butter sauce was good. The asparagus was tender and I liked the hollandaise sauce although it was a little too thick to pour. The creamed spinach and garlic mashed potatoes were delicious. To top it off they surprised us with an incredibly delicious Baked Alaska dessert for our anniversary compliments of the house. It arrived with an anniversary card signed by the staff. We finished off the meal with two tasty cappuccinos. It's a pricey restaurant but I would definitely recommend Trulucks and would definitely return for another special occasion.
Great food and wonderful customer service. The manager Louis Saliba was specially attentive. Which we appreciate!
We were celebrating my son's birthday and everyone there treated him like he was a king, so he loved it. The food was amazing as usual. Fantastic service from a great waiter, Jonathan. Only complaint was that it seemed to be really quite dark in the room we were in (one that was off of the main dining room, used to be the patio). Every table around us was using a phone light to see things, both on the menu and on their plates, so I know it wasn't just my eyes.
Johnathan Morris was incredible. Service was perfect. Food was impeccable. Overall amazing experience.
The food, wait staff and management are always top notch. We enjoy this restaurant so much and go for a lot of special occasion.
Wendy was one of the best servers I’ve seen in the Austin area. Classy place but not over the top, quieter than most Austin restaurants. All food was prepared perfectly.
Awesome place to celebrate any occasion or just hang out for dinner. Great food, terrific service.
Extremely pricey for just 2 people. But the food was extremely delicious.
It is a hit or miss with this location so that would be included with my recommendation. I was sitting there for almost 10 min w out a fork. Waiter seemed disinterested
The bartender who served us while we waited on our table was great.
But Blake Martin, our server, really made out night. His service and attentiveness made for a great dining experience, rivaled only by the delicious meal.
I can't wait to go back; Blake said to ask for him--I certainly will.
One of our favorite restaurants, they have never disappointed...
Amazing food and service. First time eating there and it was absolutely what I was anticipating. Upscale. My expectations were met.
Went for our wedding anniversary, and had a most wonderful evening of unhurried dining, with delicious food, excellent service and a most hospitable atmosphere.
5 of us ate at Truluck's on Monday evening because we have all been overwhelmingly impressed with the food and service. HOWEVER this las time we were terribly disappointed with the quality of the food. One of us had the salmon which was COLD and TASTELESS. One of us had Filet Oscar which was mealy and tasteless. I had the scallops which were too "rare" and too salty, and the sauce was thin and tasteless, along with garlic mashed potatoes which were runny and had no garlic flavor at all. Our waiter was great. My Caesar salad was outstanding! But overall, our dining experience was pretty much AWFUL.
From my first visit to the Trulucks in Houston back in the 90's I have been a fan. Nothing has changed the Arboretum location is spot on. Great staff Wayne is my favorite but every waitperson there is great. Ambience is quiet and relaxing, wine list excellent as it's the bar. The food is fresh and the stone crab is to die for. Steak is perfectly prepared and sides are fresh tasty and the right portion side so go and enjoy. Also try to a great job on follow-up they always call to check on the quality of your experience.
Awesome service, great food and a friendly environment every time we come.
Amazing food !! Service was the best!!! Definitely they will see me soon
It was perfect! Great date night or celebration location
My wife and I sat at the bar for dinner and had some very delicious food, including the tuna tartar tower, the salmon bearnaise and the filet. Everything was cooked perfectly and we wanted more parmesan mashed potatoes! The gentleman playing the piano in the corner played a variety of music and was very good. Not exactly a hip crowd as most of the people in the bar were mature but the ambiance and food were great.
Kayla provided excellent service & menu support.
GM Luis was very considerate, stopping by our table to extend birthday wishes.
Overall, a memorable evening of starters (ceviche, tartare and escargot), Sonora salad, lobster, redfish and filets w/chef toppings.
French press coffee, courtesy baked Alaska and chocolate cake ensured a proper finish to the evening.
High recommend for anyone considering a visit to Truluck’s.
Great service and great food. The scallops were perfect, and the wine suggestion was spot on!
Celebrated my wife’s life birthday there again this year. Truluck’s is one of our go-to places for an intimate and relaxing celebration. This visit was amazing again. All of the food was wonderfully delicious, the Brussel Sprouts were even spectacular. The complimentary Baked Alaska was a great touch too! Highly recommend Truluck’s!
Truly great experience
I find steakhouse fare utterly boring, so I wasn't expecting to be wowed. When I spend a couple hundred bucks on a dinner for two, however, I do expect the food to be hot when it is served. No part of our meal was served more than a little above room temperature . The plates must have been waiting to be delivered for at least 15 minutes. The manager even brought our appetizer out to us and apologized for it taking so long. We weren't in a hurry, so that was no big deal, but when a *manager* delivers cold food, there's a problem.
The staff was friendly and the baked Alaska was surprisingly good, so it wasn't a bad experience altogether. It's just not acceptable when you pay that much for such uninspired food.
Great experience and wonderful service. Food was amazing, definitely coming back for special occasions.
Our steak was outstanding, the flounder was probably the worst I have ever eaten.
The food, atmosphere, and service were all top notch. I felt welcomed and respected. The steak was cooked to a crispy perfection. Definitely going back in the future!
Awesome as usual.
From the time we walked through the front door until we left the experience was amazing! We came to celebrate a birthday and our waitress, Wendy, did an amazing job, always right there whenever we needed anything. We enjoyed the stone crab claws as an appetizer. We split the wedge salad. My date ordered the Ahi tuna and I ordered the South African lobster tail along with 2 side dishes. The meal was cooked to perfection. It was my date's birthday and the pastry chef made a magnificent baked Alaska with her name spelled out in chocolate. The dinner was a terrific experience for both of us!
I’m a foodie and I take my dining experiences seriously, especially when eating at fine dining restaurants. I would say that our overall experience dining at Trulucks was very good. The food was fresh and flavorful, and our waiter was outstanding. My one and only complaint is the Baked Alaska birthday desert, it was too frozen and very difficult to eat.
We took my brother here for his birthday dinner and the staff at Truluck's were wonderful. Thanks for the hospitality!
Items seemed changed. Potatoes used to be awesome with cut up asparagus and chunky potatoes. These new potatoes were more like instant.
Wonderful special occasion restaurant. Service, ambience and food were all excellent. Manager stopped in a few times to make certain all was in order. Overall excellent meal
We celebrated our first Wedding Anniversary here and the service, food and hospitality was AMAZING!!! They surprised us with champagne, dessert and a signed card from the employees. Thank you to everyone involved in making our Anniversary dinner special especially our waitress Wendy and the manager Louis.
Quite simply, the most consistent fine dining experience in Austin. The delicious cuisine is only bettered by the attentive staff in every position. Awesome!
Great service, food was good - but the seafood (lobster) wasn’t quite the caliber I’ve had at Truluck’s before. Good, but not great. Service was outstanding as usual!
