Great family dinner
Food was excellent like before
Service was great
The food was amazing as was the service. I had the scallops which were tender and scrumptious, along with brussel sprouts that were crispy (but a bit too oily). The waiter offered that i could substitute a vegetable side for the mashed potatoes when he heard me mention i was not excited about the mashed potatoes. I really appreciated this option. The caesar salad was the best i've ever had with a strong, but not too strong, garlic flavor and just the right amount of parmesan. I asked for the dressing to be tossed very lightly and it was perfectly done. My friends were all very pleased with their meals as well (crunchy trout, strip steak, lobster bisque). I was celebrating my birthday so we were offered a baked Alaska for dessert. We were thrilled when the waiter set it on fire and enjoyed watching the flames much more than if we'd had candles. The waiter did not have everyone sing Happy Birthday, which was also very much appreciated. This is one of the only restaurants I have frequented in the US where the servers are attentive but not intrusive and very in tune with the customers' needs and desires. The noise level was not high which is also quite rare in the US, even in excellent restaurants. The ambiance was pleasant though maybe a bit too dark for my taste. I can honestly say that Truluck's is my alltime favorite restaurant, and though it is pricey, the experience is well worth it!
Great service, great food, lively atmosphere and an easy location to get to for those who live north of downtown.
We love going to Truluck's for special occasions. The staff pays attention to even the smallest details like extra decorations for the table and free dessert to celebrate! Ever staff member from the Manager to the hostess to the waitstaff made sure to help us celebrate and feel welcomed and special. We will continue to come back time and again. Thanks Truluck's! You never disappoint!
Steak was cooked to my liking. Ceviche appetizer has consistently been very good. Wine selection was also very compatible with my taste.
I have dined at Truluck's many times and have always had a wonderful dining experience. This time I felt they fell short. My waitress rushed us through. We were there for a total of 1 hour from the time we were seated until we paid our bill.
Perfect evening with friends. Started in the bar, which had perfect entertainment in the background and service. Dinner was superb, and our waitress was perfect. We will be back soon! Ray
Great food and service as usual.
Good was delicious, service was excellent. Menu had a wide range of choices.
Great food, great service and a wonderful overall experience. I would highly recommend to anyone who wants an upscale eating experience. We will be back again!
The best stone crab anywhere. Service was attentive, even multiple visits from the manager, which might have been a tad too many interruptions, but overall a great experience.
Really enjoyed our dinner tonight. Celebrating an anniversary and they made us feel special. Rose petals on the table were nice. Service was excellent, not rushed, attention to detail. Food was wonderful. Really Nice!
The service and food were outstanding. The staff mad the experience very enjoyable.
Great night with my wife of one year. Great service and great drinks. The crab stuffed lobster tail was sweet and delicious. The large lobster tail (maybe South African) was a little chewy/tough. This was what I looked forward to the most but overall great night.
Truluck’s does not provide the level of food quality for the price. Very nice atmosphere, our waiter provided great service, but $400 for 4 people and nothing outstanding really about the food. Could get the same level of service, quality and atmosphere for half the price elsewhere.
12 year anniversary
Everything was great except the food. It wasn’t good, it wasn’t terrible. It was just ok and that’s not acceptable for an expensive restaurant.
Great food and great service.
The escargot was the best I’ve ever had!
My mother in law is French and her escargot was the standard by which I have judged all others.
Trulucks is always a lovely experience, attentive servers, beautiful ambiance, VIP, treatment. My only complaint was the butter to dip the lobster in was salty enough to make it less than delicious, I brought it to the servers attention, he was willing to check on it, but I opted out just for the sake of time. We will go back, it's a great spot for special occasions.
Too expensive for what you get. Food quality is much better at Eddie Vs.
Excellent food and exceptional service
We loved it there! It was our anniversary and we were pampered both in the dining area and the bar area! The rose petals on the table and the baked Alaska were both an incredibly nice touch! We will be back!
Over priced under valued for my taste. Not a place to visit all the time. Just once every few years. You will alot for small portions. Then having to pay for sides.. a bit to rich for a middle class family
Took my wife and two college age sons here for a nice pre-Christmas meal. Having dined at the downtown location and enjoyed it, we decided to try the one closer to our home.
Now, when I decide to spend the kind of $$ it takes to eat at a high-end steakhouse, its a given that the food needs to be perfect. Its really the service that I look for, that "we are happy you are here, and will do anything to make this a great evening" kind of vibe. Things started off ok, but after the waiter brought out the crab and lobster tray to show us the evening's selections, I decided to splurge on a $60 cold water tail and a filet. My son asked for a 1 lb serving of king crab and a steak. This is where things went downhill.
After the apps and salads, the staff starts to deliver food to the table. My steak and lobster are on separate plates, no garnish, etc. Presentation? What's that? Is this Waffle House? Lobster is not broiled to perfection, looks like it was steamed, hell it could have been microwaved. Lukewarm. Yay. I am given a metal dish of cold garlic sauce (like Papa Johns pizza!) for it. I ask for drawn butter. A cold serving of this is sent to the table, with the candle warmer just lit. Who the hell orders a lobster tail to drown it in nasty garlic butter sludge? I trudge on with my cold butter.
As for my son, he wasn't given a 1 lb portion of crab, its the full 2 lbs as seen on the tray the waiter showed us. So $150 for his dinner with the steak, way more than anticipated. As soon as I mentioned that none of this was going as I expected, the waiter went cold and provided minimal service for the rest of the meal. So in summary, i spent $600 and left feeling just a bit ripped off. Could have gone to Outback Steakhouse and gotten the same meal for 1/3 the price.
And when I got the call the next day from some 3rd party service asking how my meal was, and told them, I was assured I would hear from the manager. Never got a call.
The food and service is always stellar. It was a busy weekend evening (the weekend before Christmas), but our server was still very attentive. The only “issue” we had was the volume level of the speakers. The live singer’s rendition of “Purple Rain” will be forever...etched in our memory.
The food and beverages have been outstanding, but what really impressed us was the courtesy, attention to detail and the exemplary services of the waitstaff, especially Jeff! We definitely will be back very soon.
Louis the manager and Laura our server were over the top good, friendly, fun, and was always Jonny on the spot.
One of the best dinners from start to end I’ve had in a long time!!!
