$65 bone-in NY Strip is ordered medium; arrives at the table raw. Second attempt to get the same piece of meat to the right temp and they over cook. No offer to replace or remove the inedible NY Strip. Definitely will be exploring other dining options.
Everything was outstanding! We love the ambiance of Trulucks. Also, the food and service could not have been better. Really made us feel like valued customers!
Excellent in every way. Especially helpful with ietary limitations and allergies.
Excellent service, wonderful pacing of the meal and always a nice touch when they call the next day to check on your overall experience!
Being new to Austin took a chance for my husbands birthday and hit the jackpot! This is an amazing restaurant. The food, service and atmosphere was excellent. We will definitely return!
Great food and outstanding service. You can’t go wrong. It’s a bit pricey but well worth it.
Great service, thank you for making the evening wonderful, Fred!
Server was very knowledgeable and attentive .food was excellent
Celebrated our 38th wedding anniversary with you. Food was outstanding, as usual. Service was very attentive and the manager came over to check on us.
We really enjoyed ourselves at Truluck‘s! Excellent service, fantastic food, greeted by the manager on more than one occasion… The type of combination of great food and great service that you expect from this level of restaurant. Through the OpenTable app I indicated that it was our anniversary, and several of the staff came by to say happy anniversary throughout our dinner service! A really nice touch.
Started poorly. The pin for the restaurant was miles in error. Wasted a long time.
We did not feel the steaks were up to par. I ordered an aged KC Strip and it was nothing special. My wife’s filet was likewise not special. This was unusual as the previous times we had steaks at Trulucks they were very exceptional.
Always delivers on quality of food and service. A favorite place to celebrate whatever you want to celebrate.
Celebrated our Birthday's and Anniversary here on a Sunday evening. Warm and friendly staff, attends to all your needs. Excellent choices of food, and deserts.
Amazing! Anniversary dinner couldn't have gone better. Amazing food and amazing service.
This was our first time time at TRULUCKS. The manager Patrick Novak and our server Leo did an excellent job to ensure our 14th wedding anniversary would be a night to remember. Table service was superb along with our entree’s. Dessert was a beautifully plated Baked Alaska compliments of the Chef. Thank you TRULUCKS staff for making this such a memorable experience.
Dinner at Truluck's was a very pleasurable experience. Everything we ordered was cooked to perfection. We ordered Calamari, Lobster Bisque, Lobscargot, and Oysters Rockefeller for appetizers, all which were great choices and prepared perfectly. For dinner we ordered Crab Stuffed Lobster, Salmon Bearnaise, and Faroe Island Salmon along with Lobster Mashed Potatoes and Crab Fried Rice. Every one of these choices was fabulous and cooked wonderfully. If you're ordering side dishes I highly recommend the Crab Fried Rice. It was unique and scrumptious. The waiter was professional and friendly. I could go on and on, but I'll stop now and just say that Truluck's is the best seafood restaurant in Austin.
Disappointed... as a long time favorite, Truluck's was our pick for Christmas Eve dinner this year. Unfortunately we left wondering whether we would come back again. While our seafood dishes were excellent, our two steaks left something to be desired. The "special" bone-in NY strip was ordered medium but cooked just above rare. After waiting almost 10 minutes for the waiter to return, the steak was sent back for some more time on the grill. It finally came out about 10 minutes later and it was charred on both sides in a rush to get it to the correct internal temperature. I also had to request a new asparagus side dish since the original one had become ice cold while waiting on the steak. Maybe even more surprising was that both steaks we ordered (the other one was a 7oz filet) were very under seasoned. I left underwhelmed for the second straight meal at the Arboretum. On my previous visit, I had the filet and noted the same problem with seasoning - it was almost impossible to tell whether the kitchen had hit it with salt and pepper. I thought it was just an off night for steaks since everything else we had that evening was excellent. Unfortunately, I'm seeing a trend here.
Sat at a half table. 30 minutes to get order in. Jason, our waiter, wasn’t familiar with our wine selection. Needed to see menu. Husband and I ordered ahi tuna. My portion had so much connective tissue that I had to request a serrated knife. Jason gladly gave me the knife but did not offer to replace the tuna. Chef, visually, should have seen that this was a poor cut. That was the only time we were checked on by staff. Dress code has dropped tremendously. We’ve been going there for Christmas Eve for 5 years. Absolutely the last time.
It was Christmas Eve and so maybe that had something to do with it....but been here many times before and always really enjoyed our meal. But tonight was off.....no wow factor in anything we ate. Not terrible but just average and this place should not be settling for just average
Fabulous food and service.
The food was good, very small portions. Very expensive for average food
I have been coming to TruLuck's for years. I've celebrated Holiday's, Birthday's, graduations, special occasions, date nights and have never been disappointed. The food, the service, the wine list and ambiance are so wonderful. I've recommended this to many new comers to Texas and all have been pleased. Oh, and if you dare, the dessert's are out of this world.
We’ve been going to Truluck’s every Christmas time for the past 10 years. We’re disappointed by most of the changes they’ve made to the restaurant and menu over the past couple of years (no simply seared sea bass anymore)
So good! It’s pricey but so worth it! Waitress was so good too!
What a gem of a restaurant. Impeccable service, fabulous fresh sea food and a great wine list. We were celebrating our anniversary and were surprised with a baked Alaska signed in chocolate, "Happy Anniversary." Perfect ending to an exquisite dining experience. The staff was friendly and very considerate. We will definitely be back!
Although our server tried to accommodate us I felt we were an afterthought and rushed a bit. Sadly our wine choice came with a struggled cork pull which broke in half and a bit of cork in my wine. Not really a big deal but you wouldn’t really expect it. I actually thought our server would have grabbed another bottle When he left the table with our wine bottle to get assistance from the barkeep and the original would have ended up behind the bar used for single servings with another bottle brought to our table but no he came back with the original bottle and I had a half of a cork sitting in front of me the entire meal.
The meal was tasty
Our poor baked Alaska was the leaning tower of baked Alaska’s so it toppled and didn’t slice evenly, actually not even close to even servings so the big finish was a bit disappointing
This was a Christmas dinner with dear friends. Second year in a row we have chosen Truluck’s. Wonderful setting for special evening.
Ambiance, food, and service were all exceptional and made for a wonderful anniversary dinner!
Fantastic service and unforgettable delectable meal. Will certainly return.
We dined at Trulucks for our anniversary. This was noted on the reservation, so they had rose petals and candles on the table for us which added a little romance. We started off with crab cakes and the meatballs, and can't forget the fresh-baked bread. All were delicious. For the main course I had the filet with broccoli and mashed potatoes. My husband had the filet and crab with the hash brown and brussel sprouts. I felt the filet was slightly shy of the requested medium well, but was tender and flavorful after adding the provided coarse-ground seasoning. My husband enjoyed his food and raved about the butter sauce provided for the crab and put it on everything! Our one disappointment was the steakhouse hash browns. It was a large potato cake, was very greasy and lacked flavor. We each took one bite and were done. The service was great, and they even brought us a beautiful complimentary anniversary dessert. There was live music playing in the bar/lounge area and in general it was a very energetic (slightly loud) environment. We would not be afraid to take our kids for fear of them being too loud! Overall a pleasant dining experience and we would have no hesitations returning.
Great as always, a fantastic anniversary dinner all around!
Very great experience. They were running behind a little on the reservation and gave us complimentary Shrimp Cocktail which were amazing. The Red Fish Pontchartrain was by far the best I have had. I will definitely be back again!!
The service is the best in the resturant industry. We went for out wedding anniversary and was truly please with Trulucks. We will definitely go agin.
The food is always amazing & the service is the best in the city! They even called me the next day to see how my evening was!
Wonderful venue for special celebration. Our server Lauren was outstanding.
Food is fantastic. The steaks are delicious. You cant go wrong with the sides. Lobster mac and cheese with large pieces of lobster. Brussel sprouts would make anyone love brussel sprouts. Service impeccable. Wait staff and managers ensure you are having a great experience.
Always a fabulous dining experience; freshest seafood in Austin!
I love ribeye steak but you do not offer one less than 20oz. Way too much. 12-16 oz would be better. Just a thought.
