Food & wine was good. Great view of Steamboat Resort Mountain Trails, with New Years Eve fireworks & torch light skiers. Our waiter was very attentive but not bothersome. Management however, introduced himself and welcomed us, only to return later & ask us to leave because he wanted to reseat our table...haha! and we thought he was truly concerned with our dining experience. We agreed that was a first for us all.
I had never eaten a food with so much salt in my life !
The “truffle fries” ordered as appetizer were impossible to eat and I had to send back to the kitchen and exchanged for some without salt. To my surprise, they came back again in all our dishes, as all had theese horrible fries. Not to say that paied extra $4 dollars for the “truffle”.
When I conplained the maittre said “yeah, our food is spicy”!!! SPICY??? or SALTY?
Lets go to the fish: asked for a sea bass fish and chips (which the waitress made me change to salty truffle fries). ONLY 4 pieces of fried fish on top of a hill of fries.
Truffle Pig is easy to like: cordial, efficient crew, nice big room (that still wasn’t loud), views of the mountain, and some very good small plate dishes (bacon-wrapped dates and ‘bowl of chili’ flavor meatballs were standouts). We’d recommend it for anything from snacks and drinks to apres ski and full dinners: a classy place!
We enjoyed our entire experience! The entire staff was friendly and attentive, very prompt, and paid wonderful attention to every detail. Everything was delicious; from the creative cocktails, incredible whiskey (aged in barrels designed specifically for Truffle Pig), perfectly portioned and gorgeous courses, with a grand finale of chocolate decadence! My husband and I will certainly be back soon and we'll be raving out about experience for a long time.
On this occasion at the Truffle Pig we were party of 6. The evening was mostly a very good experience. The food taste & preparation were quite good. The one downside to the evening was that when our food was served one of the meals was not what was ordered. This was due to some confusion between the waiter and the cook. The management quickly took responsibility for the mix up and "comped" us for their mistake.
The most wonderful memory about this place is the superlative service by all the staff. In particular, our bartender, waiter, and bus-person were very friendly and catered to our every need. It was a lovely evening outside with friends. The menu was unique and everything tasted delicious.
Very upscale experience with great view. Wine list was extensive, though by the glass pours were thin. Recommend getting a bottle. Food was well prepared. Small plates were small--you'll need several for sharing. We had the charcuterie plate which didn't have bread or crackers--a first in our experience. Very pricey.
Nice setting. Food was very good, though overpriced for the quality. Service was not impressive. My empty drink was taken without asking if I'd like another. Bread plates were stacked with one in the middle being filthy and no one inquired about it. Didn't take it away for 1/2 hour. I'd go back for location, maybe, but I'd hesitate.
I made a reservation and was sat in a back corner behind the service station when the restaurant was completely empty. I asked to be moved closer to a window so we could enjoy some ambiance and the view; and while our request was accommodated, the waitress wasn't very gracious about it. The food came out promptly, and service was ok overall. The burrata and tomato appetizer was delicious, and our entrees were decent, but not wonderful. Come to the truffle pig for the views if you can sit outside. There is better food to be had at comparably priced restaurants in town, but it's not typically as crowded on busy holiday weekends, which is nice, the view is great if you can sit outside, and you can valet for free at One Steamboat place, which is awesome.
