True BBQ & Whiskey Bar
Enjoyable dinner, and excellent service
Server kept forgetting our side dishes. Very fatty brisket. She said it’s normal, but I’ve had way better brisket elsewhere. Ordered drinks: 2nd was way different than the first.
We were seated at one of the outdoor fire pits. After we ordered our food, there was a one man band who performed. He was excellent. The food was ok. I ordered the Cajun shrimp and fried green tomatoes. The shrimps were good; the tomatoes not so much. My friend ordered the ribs. Very meaty but a little dry. Another friend ordered the Reuben which was good. The atmosphere was great. I will go again.
The food is phenomenal. Husband enjoyed his brisket and I love my pasta. It has all the smoked flavors and its mouthwatering. I am not a bbq person and their raspberry bbq sauce is over the roof. It is worth the price!!!!
Always a great meal
The 4 of us had wonderful food and great service. We will definitely do it again. Noise level is a little rough for someone with hearing aids so we will remember to go earlier. The brisket is so.....yummy!
Love the place. Service was a little slow, but food made up for it.
We saw an advertisement for all you can eat crab legs at True BBQ. It was our anniversary so I made a reservation for 4. When we got there they didn’t have a table for us except in the bar. We sat in the bar and after a 30 min wait we finally ordered drinks and appetizers. Some time later we placed our dinner order and were told that the “All you can eat crab legs”were only for a special event. We were even given a menu that said all you can eat crab legs right on the front. It didn’t say anything about stipulations. Since my wife was the only one who wanted the crab legs we asked for the manager. Cory the manager couldn’t have been more crass and rude. She said all the tickets were sold out. Really, “all you can eat crab legs” and you can’t sell one more serving?
Will never go back to True BBQ for anything!
The food and drinks were great. We sat outside. The server brought the entrees too early with the salad. We hadn’t finished our appetizer yet. It definitely ruined the service.
Delicious! Had the pork sandwich and it was really good. Beet salad was delicious and different.
This was our first time at this place and it was really great! Had the best burger I’ve ever had. We will definitely be coming back soon!
Ben there several times for lunch and dinner. Food is always top notch as is the service. Love the vibe especially in the bar.
There were four in our party. I ordered the trio platter - the brisket and the pulled pork were good but the ribs were overdone and a little dried out. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their meal.
This is a hidden gem and the ambiance is wonderful. Definitely a recommended spot for great food and drinks.
The atmosphere was wonderful. It had an upscale feel while offering affordability. I'll definitely return.
Mother’s Day Brunch!!! Terrible!!!! Yuck 🤢
I have been here before but on this visit the pulled pork had no taste to it, there was no flavor. Someone may have forgot to season the pork.
This was a delicious bar b q place. Very attractive, great food and great price
My wife and I were extremely impressed. I have already recommended the place to friends and family.
Customer service was very good ribs with smoke really good you have your choice of five BBQ sauces they make homemade chips they were good with the nest special rub for the ribs my husband had the trio he really liked it and I had the Reuben which was really good
The waitress was awesome... we were excited to come here for the first time because the online food sounded deeelish and we were excited to try new and different whiskey’s.
Everything tasted fabulous... smoked is always on point if done right in my book. And this was. However... from a price point perspective as good as it was it is overpriced. I mean $15 for a fried chicken sandwich with chipotle sauce you can buy in a store? I opted out of fries and asked for the garlic potatoes and the first few bites tasted like they were instant.
I will admit I am very particular about my food. I loved everything but I also cook from scratch. To me at this price point it should beyond that and have a spin on it besides being smoked. If it wasn’t smoked I would ask for a refund only because I know the preparation and time it takes.
Good BBQ. Brisket was the best of the meats. I ordered the BBQ trio that had ribs, pulled pork and brisket. For $30 the portions were really small on the pulled pork and brisket. Dish came with a half slab of ribs that were very tender and meaty. Pulled pork came in a monkey dish and was watery and not very tasty. Needed a lot more seasoning. Also had a double shot (neat) of one of the many excellent bourbons they featured. Again, for the price they charge, the pour was skimpy to say the least. Someone in our group had the brisket dinner and that was a very nice size portion and a very good price as well. Bottom line, decent BBQ, nice ambiance, very cool bar area with a gigantic selection of whiskeys. Service was friendly and prompt.
We went on Saturday at noon at celebrate Easter a day early . We meet up here a couple times a year as it is half way between family. Great food always .
Service was great everyone was in good spirits and food was excellent!
Our waitress was on point. I wish i remember her name; young lady long ponytail w/ glasses. She was superb!
Sunday around noon is the best time to go if your looking for a nice quiet lunch. My wife and I were surprised that there were so few people there at lunch time but we were pleased that we had the place practically to ourselves. “Raven” was very helpful in helping us choose different whiskies and the food was excellent! I wish they were closer but I will go back again.
The food was cold, like sitting out for 30 minutes cold. The 1 item my husband liked was the cornbread, unfortunately a bus person removed it while my husband was still eating. Worst birthday dinner ever!!! Don’t waste your $$$!
The service and ambiance was outstanding. The quality and flavor of food was phenomenal. The only issue was the food was slightly overpriced. Good price point for a couple but for families not so much.
We had a very knowledgeable server and she was very attentive we came in a pretty slow evening which we enjoyed my overall experience was a five-star event my only issue is with the portion size
Very nice night. The food was great. I was not thinking I was spending as much as I did? A little more expensive then I thought it should be.
I thought prices compared to other similar restaurants were a bit pricey.
Awesome dining experience! Can’t wait till next time!
BBQ St. Louis Ribs were dry and no texture, just soft. BBQ sauces provided were: A) Jalapeno Sauce - I had to add Tobasco Sauce to it. B) Basic - was way too sweet. C) Brown Sugar Sauce - nasty sweet. D) Raspberry Sauce - plain gross. You need some decent sauces. The best part of the meal was the complimentary potato chips with the hot BBQ sauce applied.
I enjoyed the food there. It was better did i expected. I have a lot of allergies and they were able to accommodate me. Also the service great.
We have been dining at True Whisky BBQ since 2016. The food has always been good, however, the service is not good.
On top of everything else, they delivered my sister her plate with only meat, no sides or anything. My sister is a picky eater and will not eat just meat. We asked several times for her sides and they told us they were working on them. After about 15 to 20 mins, she recd a side of mac and cheese only to find it cold. She sent it back and told the server that she wants her food together. We waited another 15 mins for her side to come out, which at that point her meat was cold. I asked the server to take the meat back and remove it from the bill. The manager comes to my table and asks why dont we want the food. I explained that her food was now cold and she eats it together and if she could simply remove it from our bill that would be great! The manager became irate and told us that the meat was hot when she brought it out and acted as if the missing side dishes wasn't a big deal and insinuated that we were giubg ti pay for the meat and she would take off the sides. Perhaps she didnt know she was speaking to a group of respectful and educated individuals, but we told her in a very professional manner that we ordered an entree not ala carte which meant my sister wanted to eat her meat and her side dishes together. After waiting almost 40 mins for mac and cheese, as the manager, she should have been compromising to remove the charge. Then to add insult to injury, she yell at us and screamed she didn't want to argue. There was no argument, we pointed out the terrible service and inconvenience and she was the one with the attitude.
The service at True Whisky totally sucks, some of the servers do not know the menu, and the manager is rude, disrespectful, and confrontational with diners. But I will never go back because I feel like I am not wanted there and I refuse to spend my money at an establishment where I am mistreated and stereotyped.
ordered a porterhouse cooked medium. first steak come out black and crispy, they remade it for me and brought it out rare. did not wait for a third try. but hey they took 5 bucks off the bill.
Good food, different options and quality service.
Had a very nice date night here with my wife on 16 Feb 2019. Food was good, and the Quaff on! Peanut Butter Busted Knuckle 7.2% beer I had was very tasty too.
