What a terrific find! We were craving pollo asado. So happy Tropicos Breeze popped up in our search and was within our area. Don't let the location comments deter you from trying this gem of a restaurant. It was very colorful and clean. Even the plates were a variety of fun colors.
The service was excellent. A very friendly lady greeted us and made us feel very welcome. The server was a very attentive young man who was mature beyond his age. We made an Open Table reservation and did not have a problem. When was the last time you were served piping hot chips? You will get them here! Salsa. guac and pico de gallo (my favorite) were so fresh even at 8pm. The tomatoes tasted like tomatoes not bland like so many places serve. We ate everything on the plate.
The pollo asado was delicious and true to what asado should be. The citrusy marinade was light and full of flavor. It was a pounded thin breast that was soft and delicious. A lightly dressed salad provided a refreshing balance to the plate. Rice was moist, fluffy and unique with some nice herbs and diced veggies. Beans were not heavy with added fat. Did I say fresh at 8pm? Everything was freshly bought and prepared. You can taste it immediately. I'm sure nothing sits around the kitchen for long. Portions - seriously very generous. With the 2 orders, we had enough left over to make 2 burritos for lunches the next day. We made them right at the table and asked for some foil to wrap them. We could have made 4 if we didn't eat so much. You could share the entrees but then you wouldn't have leftovers!
I was visiting from the Southwest so I've had plenty of Mexican, Central and South American cuisine. Tropicos Breeze will be on my go to list for every Seattle trip now!

I loved that I was able to find a dish from my home country: Bandeja Paisa.

We had the house specials, Bandeja Paisa and Molcajete, for entrees and pupusas for appetizers. The entrees were authentic, delicious and very filling. Portions were generous for a reasonable price. The service was good, certainly better than what's been described in prior reviews. Tropicos Breeze is on our repeat dining list.

The restaurant was not even opened. It was a waste of our time to even make a reservation ahead of time. Not impressed at all. Does not deserve any rating/star at all. (had to at least given a star in order to leave comments)

We had a reservation with Open Table but they didn't seem to understand that when we got there (very limited English). Since there were 8 of us it took some time to set up. Took even more time to get a drink and order dinner. Once ordered though, the food came out quickly and was very good.
Would probably go back again but not in the near future due to very poor service...

The chicken soup was tasty (except for parsnips which I have never liked) and I got the dish because it came with a quarter chicken on the side. When I got it, there were 2 leg/thigh chicken quarters on the plate. They were very small (maybe that is why I got 2 instead of 1) and roasted to within an inch of its life. It was so dried out it was more like chicken jerky. I made the mistake of trying to eat it and it was so dry & tough I couldn't even get the meat off the bone. It reminded me of mummified remains. The rice that also accompanied the dish was good. My friend had the chicken taco and said her chicken was good. The waiter was nice & service was fine.

I did not find the food nor the surroundings appealing. The person I was with enjoyed the food ---

They were accommodating in menu substitutions.

Authenic and hearty portions. Lots of families and friendly service. Very casual. Normally no reservation needed. Great food and fun but not a romantic getaway.

Tropicos Breeze was a fantastic surprise - of unique menu items at very sensible prices. Despite the unreadable sign out front, and the dismal Aurora-Ave. setting, the staff and service and food are excellent. Go there.

We were so happy we found Tropicos Breeze because the food and the service was simply excellent. I have already recommended the restaurant to everyone I know. The food is fresh, abundant, awesome and you can plan on leaving very full. This is a very casual restaurant in a little bit of an odd place on Aurora, but you will be so happy you gave it a try and will plan your next visit as you leave.

ok place, don't know if I'd make a trip back however. the food wasn't bad it just wasn't as good as i was looking for. also i read that the Mojito was their specialty and it wasn't THAT good. Mojito's are my favorite and it just wasn't good enough to be anyone's specialty.

We went for my wife's birthday and brought in our own cake. The staff was cool with that. Staff is fluently bilingual but I had to explain in Spanish what we meant by a "dark" beer. Restaurant attracts families and others. Both times I've been there Mexican soccer was on the big screen, but sound was low/off. Food is tasty but tends to be heavy on the meat. No one we've been there with has been disappointed in the quality of the entrees.
