Trophy Room at Old Kinderhook
We have done Thanksgiving at Old Kinderhook two times in the last few years . We have come to the lake as a meeting place for our family just to have Thanksgiving at Old Kinderhook. We have a home at the lake but leave the end of October. We have never been disappointed . We Love the food, the ice skating, the fire pits and most of all the beautiful lodge. It’s 5 star for us!!
2021 was our 4th Thanksgiving year at Old Kinderhook, and we're planning to go again in 2922. Great service, great cuisine, personable and efficient staff, beautiful setting. Broccoli slaw is the best ever. Dessert varieties are yummy and beautifully presented. THANK you!
Mia our waitress was great!!! Hands down the best , she made our experience even better😃
The dining room is to noisy for someone who has hearing problems...
Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Robin was an excellent server. Will be back often as we live local.
Great place. Food was fantastic. I would recommend highly
Christine was amazing. She really made our night special.
We celebrated a quiet birthday as two old friends and enjoyed the quiet ambiance and lovely view from the dining room. Our server, Christina, did a fantastic job of taking care of us, without being obtrusive, while being warm and friendly. It's a special skill. The food was awesome and perfectly prepared.
And on top of it they refused my open table points. New chef is not making it. Food is no longer good and service is marginal or worse. Too bad😰
Our waitress Robin was very good
It was my 88th birthday and she
Brought me a wonderful dessert as well as had the guests sing happy birthday for my special day
Friendly and efficient staff. Great food options and very tasty.
Calamari was great, especially the sauce. Caesar salad and dressing was fabulous, Rib-Eye was cooked to perfection [rare]. Asparagus was cooked just right. . Halibut was wonderful.
Service was better than good.
Only down side, we brought a $250+ bottle of wine and no one knew how to decant it. Even the bar keep had no clue. You might think about getting a decanter for those bringing an exceptional wine of their own.
Our server was super friendly & very nice. According to our receipt her name was Becky.
Very nice experience and the food and service was great.
Wonderful, as always!
Beautiful view of the golf course from the dining room.
Food was very good. Our first time there since bringing a new chef aboard We’ll go back again on another trip to the lake.
Not sure what was going on in the kitchen but we were told that they were out of bread so we wouldn’t be getting that which was fine for us. But we ordered the Calamari appetizer and she brought it out with our meal. So we didn’t eat it for fear our dinner would get cold. Food was very good. It just took a little while to get which we are fine to take our time while we are out at a nice dinner if we have a cocktail or two. But…getting drinks seemed to be a bit challenging. The bar was out of several different liquors, which we found surprising as it was a Friday night. Then it took about 15 minutes to get our drinks and then had to wait about the same amount of time to get someone back over to take another drink order and another 15 minutes to get them. But the food was good so you have the time for a long dinner you’re good.
The atmosphere and views were amazing. The prime rib special was very good. The steak was very disappointing and not worth the hefty price tag. The halibut was ok but has very little flavor. We will eat there again because of the location, views and atmosphere, however we will choose from lower priced items like sandwiches, burgers and pasta that is hard to mess up. We would recommend to a friend but only for drinks, appetizers and sandwiches…certainly not for fine dining.
Everything was excellent as always.
They were i understaffed, poorly trained, and management was unwilling to provide assistance to the wait staff.
Our salad was delivered after our entree (only after we let the server know that we had never received it. Our water glasses were never refilled, and we weren’t offered dessert before the server brought our check. In addition, our server had no idea what Sauvignon Blanc was, when we ordered a bottle of wine.
For a fine dining establishment, the service we received was very substandard and very disappointing.
However, the chef did a good job - the food was very high quality.
Lisa was an amazing server, so pleasant!
This was our first time dining at old kinderhook, we were looking to try somewhere different. The restaurant and view are beautiful. Our server gave us fantastic service. I started off with the blue cheese wedge salad, and my husband got the vegetable beef soup. Both were great. For dinner, my husband got the ribeye, which was cooked perfectly and very good. I got the sea scallops, and they were truly amazing. Cooked and seasoned perfectly, and were some of the largest I’ve ever had. We finished off with the brownie and ice cream desert. Pricey, but worth the money. We will definitely be back!
Our server Mila was wonderful!!
Very nice option for the area and many selections available for food and wine
We loved our waitress Lisa!!!! Beautiful view and great food.
We had a small wedding dinner and it was wonderful. When we booked, we didn’t know we needed to specify we wanted the main dining area, so we were seated in the bar area. It was a little noisy here, but still very nice. Our waitress, Robin, did a wonderful job making sure we were taken care of. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. Thanks for making our evening a success.
Great food. Great service. Beautiful ambiance. Highly recommended.
The food was Excellent. However the service was not. As usual right now, they were understaffed. We understand that. We would definitely return we have been there a number of times and the food is always been good.
Dinner was disappointing. Apparently they have an unstated policy that if you eat outside and a fly lands in your $5 glass of wine they will not give you a replacement. They eventually did replace the glass but it seems a silly policy. Why upset your customers paying $100 for dinner over a $2 or $3 cost of goods? If this is an actual policy then they should tell you that up front and perhaps give you an extra appetizer plate to cover your glass.
The food was over priced but the French fry appetizer was good. My entre had garlic mashed potatoes that were rather bland and gluey. My steak had good flavor but there was a lot of fat and sinew.
Wonderful food and atmosphere, our waitress from Cali was fantastic. Best service ever! Would go back in a second!
FABULOUS! Will be back soon. Personalized service was excellent. Visit from GM table side was informative and appreciated.
Good and service were both very good
The location was lovely. The food was great for two out of three of our party.
We got married at Old Kinderhook and love coming back for celebratory dinners at this top notch Lake spot.
Fascinating venue at a beautiful golf resort near Lake of the Ozarks. Our server was outstanding as she knew we were running behind for a concert in the area. Spinach/artichoke dip was one of the best I've ever had and both soups were excellent. My pork chop was slightly dry and my wife's smothered chicken was a bit bland, but these are minor quibbles compared to the overall dining experience. We will definitely return when we can spend more time there!
Excellent service by Ivan. Food was superb. Highly recommend
Our waitress, Lisa, was very sweet and kind.
Overpriced for quality in our opinion. Don't plan to return.
I'm torn between 2 and 3 stars on this review. First let me start by off by saying that that the food was fabulous. No complaints AT ALL on our meals. My wife's scallops were probably the best I've ever had (I snuck one off her plate). My shrimp and grits were very good as well. My issue was the service. Everyone was very nice and polite, but we saw our server zero times after she brought the appetizer. No other servers walking by bothered to ask to refill our obviously empty water glasses or even made eye contact. I finally flagged down someone to ask for more water. I would have had another beer, but by this time we had both finished our meals and were ready to leave. The lady who brought the water was also the manager so we very politely told her what I've just laid out in this review. She had a lot of excuses (our server was new, the hostess sat her with a large table after us ...), but my wife and I were both servers years ago and we recognize a poorly run restaurant when we see one. If the service was half as good as the food this would be a 5 star post and I would be singing their virtues. It's sad that such poor service/management tainted what otherwise would have been an excellent meal.
Beautiful place to eat with good ambiance for friends to get together and catch up. Food is relatively good for the price. Double check your ticket before you pay. We were charged two different prices for the same cocktail and their "special" didn't exactly ring up to what was advertised. Our server wasn't the most prompt but it did look like they were a bit short staffed. The place wasn't incredibly busy so for the amount of people there we shouldn't have had to wait as long as we did for drink refills or requests for more bread, etc.
