Trofi Restaurant - Doubletree by Hilton Kansas City - Overland Park Ratings and Reviews
We drove from Lee's Summit and have a reservation. We were seated immediately. I would suggest waffles or something more at the breakfast area. I didn't like all that pulp in the mimosa. The piano music was wonderful. The non-breakfast food was delicious. We will come again.
Steve and his staff were courteous and kind, taking care of diners young and old. The pianist was excellent. Comfortable atmosphere, friendly staff and good food with plenty to choose from. We enjoyed our time there with family celebrating Mother's Day. Price was a little high; would recommend a discount for seniors.
I expected more breakfast items: waffles, biscuits & gravy, "traditional" eggs Benedict, hash brown potatoes or fried potatoes.
I expected a larger variety of fruits. It was very "skimpy".
I expected a larger variety of desserts.
The server never even asked if anyone wanted coffee. When my milk glass was empty, she didn't ask if I wanted more milk.
We've previously enjoyed the brunches at The Trofi Restaurant, but we're probably going to move on to a different restaurant next year for a different experience.
Loved loved loved this place! When my husband and I arrived we were the only 2 there which made it even more special. It was his 32nd Birthday. He had the Bbq pork roast and I had the herb roasted half chicken. It was amazing! The staff was friendly and nice.
Trofi was fantastic beginning with our first step int the door. We were greeted with a smile and at least three "Good Morning's". We were taken to our seat immediately and greeted by the server within seconds. The food was great. An omelet bar, fruit, prime rib, ham, chicken, fish, and sweets galore. This will definitely be on the list for brunch in the future. Outstanding
This was our first time dining at Trofi. All in all it could have been a little quicker but the staff compensated for whatever issues they had going on in the kitchen. The waiter did give me a free glass of wine for recompense. Our total time including wait was just under 2 hours, which is exactly what I expected. My steak was a perfect medium as well as tender and flavorful, and the rest of the 3 courses were delicious as well. I'll give them another try soon.
Rare occasion to go to restaurant and food ok...service just ok. Ordered bread...served to us at end of meal so told server we didn't want it.
Not very many people in restaurant. Probably won't be back. Server just a little too causal...ordered drink. He came back to let us know there was alcohol in it...that's what we ordered. Restaurant more like a very casual restaurant so not sure why "business casual" is stated on line.
Waiters in Royals Shirts and that's great but still a little more casual than expected.
there was no one to check us in for our reservation we had to look for someone to check us in.
I didn't like how the staff was dressed seemed too unprofessional even if it was to support the royals, they looked too shifty. had good food but I wasn't in awe. Its a beautiful restaurant but the staff needs to work on their hospitality
This was my second experience with this restaurant. I used it because it supports the Performing Arts Series at Johnson County Community College which is quite admirable. It is an extremely attractive and quiet venue which my wife and I really like. The food is very good, though the menu is limited. The gourmet burger I had was quite good and the fries perfectly cooked. My wife's food was also nice. They have to have one of the slower kitchens in town however. Both times I was there, even with only a few patrons present, it took a half hour to get our food. Both our meals were perfectly cooked and presented hot, however. I will go back because of its great arts support and atmosphere. My waiter was attentive and eager to please.
We chose to go on a Saturday night based on other Open Table reviewers' comments. We hoped for a quiet setting with very few other diners present, and we were pleased to find that to be the case. We arrived just before 6:00 P.M., were seated in the secluded dining area, and had it all to ourselves for nearly a half hour. For this particular evening, it was perfect for us. The menu was limited, but we liked the options and enjoyed the flavors of the items we selected. We could sense that waiting tables was not the server's career of choice, but still served us sufficiently. This restaurant won't be a frequent destination for us, but we will be back the next time we desire a quiet, peaceful ambiance.
We went on a Saturday evening at 6:30pm. We had possibly the best hamburger I have ever had. There was only one other couple there. We live close to the Double Tree but this was our first time there. We will definitely be back. The service was awesome. Open Table 1000 point reservation led us there.
on a Saturday evening we decided to go to Trofi for dinner, even though we could not see the menu on line, we
did a reservation, very surprised when we got there, we had the restaurant for us two!!! then a couple of ladies came in
and this was all, four people only.
The food was good, salmon and delicious baby back ribs.
We ate at the restaurant on a Saturday night for our 6th wedding anniversary and we were the only people in the place from the beginning to the end of our meal. The food was very good and service was also. The ribs were some of the best I've ever had, super tender fall off the bone.
I just spent the week at the Doubletree Hotel in Overland Park, Kansas. I had several meals at Trofi. This is one hotel restaurant that really surpasses in terms of food and service. The restaurant staff and manager went out of their way to make sure we had an enjoyable meals and great service. One night I was the only diner and the bartender/server really took good care of me. Everyone I encountered in the hotel and especially at Trofi was very friendly and concerned that I was pleased with their service at all times. Ask to sit in the back and you will be surprised at the pleasant environment. I don't know why this place isn't busier. If you are in Overland Park and want great food and service you need to check this place out.
Second year enjoying a delicious Mother's Day brunch at Trofi. Kids were disappointed there were no pancakes or waffles. This was overheard by staff who unasked promptly brought a piping hot plate of pancakes from the kitchen to the table. Excellent service. We'll definitely return!
This was an enjoyable Easter Brunch. The food was well prepared and there was an abundance of choices. The ambiance was most notable, with music accompaniment by a harp player. The mood of the restaurant was really friendly, and one could tell other customers felt the friendliness as there was pleasant conversation as we reviewed the choices at the buffet. I was pleased with the service. Several wait staff were there to assist, but were unabtrusive. One of them was really helpful in recommending food choices. Overall, it was a really pleasant experience, and I'm looking forward to going back for Mother's Day Brunch.
The evening with my wife, was nothing special like a birthday or anniversary, but it was something new to try that was romantic time away from the children. I chose this restaurant, not because of its reviews, or closeness to home, but there was just something about the name that sounded fancy. We live on the eastern side of Independence, MO so it was about a 40 minute drive to get here. The lady at the front desk was very pleasant and had already set a reserved table in the back with the flowers I ordered, already on the table. She sat us way in the back of the restaurant, so that we could have some quiet time together, which was a great gesture, but the restaurant was quite dead for a Friday night. Wish there was a better view!
This restaurant experience was decent. The salads were actually very good, although the bread appetizer was pretty basic. The steak was not cooked to our requests, but the overall taste was pretty good. The wait staff refilled drinks great and they didn't come by too little or too often. The room was a little bright for dinner time. The silverware was missing an extra fork, so we had to use the extra silverware on the table when they took our forks that we used for our salads. The restaurant in general was quiet and easy to hear each other.
It took 35 minutes to get our appetizers, and they were cold. I think our server left in the middle of his shift, and we had to go find someone to help us. The rest of our meal was excellent and they discounted our bill, but I don't think we will be returning due to the poor service.
