I was hoping for more but ended up being very disappointed by the food. I ordered the special of the day - Fish and Fries with slaw, priced at about $16.00.
The two fish "fillets" were on the dry side and the sweet potato fries (substituted for the potato french fries) were obviously NOT freshly fried but were on the limp and moderately warm side. The slaw was unremarkable and overall I was disappointed, particularly for the price paid. I would have done MUCH better had I gone any number of nearby church-held fish fries in the area and it would have been a much better value.
However, the service was very good.
The beet salad was very good, and although shared both servings were good sized. The pork was well overcooked and took away form what might have been a nice dish.
Great food. Great service. Tranquil ambiance.
We went before a show and had a reservation. We were not acknowledged by the wait staff for nearly 20 minutes even though they walked past several times. We sat for an hour and still had no food served. We left so we would make the show. They were way understaffed for the evening. The waitress was doing everything she could but she was put in a terrible position as she had way too many tables to cover.
The service was awful. It took 45 minutes to get a glass of wine and an hour to get our food.
The food was excellent! Our server was incredible! I will never go anywhere else before the Fox! It is perfect!
Lunch. Great food in an atmosphere that is conducive to talking.
Perfect spot to dine before going to a show at the Fox. Food and service were both great.
got open table reservation and were seated earlier than our reservation time so that was good. service very good. food good except for fish tacos which were not very good. but overall a good dinner. would go back.
We brought our granddaughters to dinner before attending the Fox. Our server was excellent; the food was good.
They were short staffed when we were there on a Saturday night. Server did the best she could. We went with another couple. The food was served luke warm and the onions were barely hot. We didn't send them back since they seemed so short staffed. The French Soup had no cheese on it, which I thought was a bit strange. We had been there a couple of times before and looked forward to it, but this time we were disappointed. Don't know if we will return.
We eat here before going to the Fox. The atmosphere is very relaxing and the staff are very professional and friendly. Ken has been our waiter for several years now and always does a great job of getting us out on time. We recommend the Triumph!
We enjoyed our meals at Triumph. I had a delicious burger with excellent sweet potato fries and my friend had equally good butternut squash ravioli. we went before a performance at the Fox. Our server was good and the service was pretty quick too. We also enjoyed the beer on tap, as we could have a taste before we ordered. A very pleasant experience.
This is a nice casual dining place perfect for the motorcycle enthusiast. The menu was varied and had many unique foods to choose from. I had the French onion soup and it was delicious. I also share part of my husbands sirloin and asparagus. They were both cooked to perfection!
Enjoyed the food and not many others present so not too noisy.
It was freezing cold, old and dirty feeling, and the food was not great.
Service was great and the food was delicious! I will definitely be returning.
Great option before an event at Scott or Peabody. Good service, food, drinks and atmosphere!
Disappointed that pulled pork nachos were off the menu. The meal was very pricey for what it was. Service was fantastic
Went before Powell performance. Nice to park and be able to walk to Hall. I would say the food was very good. Place could use a good cleaning. The wall of my booth was not clean and the floors were in need of a vacuum. Otherwise great people and food.
Good food and convenient if you're headed to the Fox Theater or Powell Hall. The service was a bit slow on this visit, and the food was a little slow getting out of the kitchen. However, the food was hot and nicely prepared. This is still one of my dependable go-to places downtown.
Our reservation was not honored because they needed to set up for a big group. In fact, no one would even acknowledge us until the group was seated 30 minutes later. Very disappointing.
I’ve been a fan almost since it opened and it’s our “go to” before symphony or Fox, but.... server was by her own admission “having an off day” forgot the appetizer and then brought them out after the entree arrived, wasn’t sure of the featured drink so it seemed like the evening started off slow instead of festive. The chicken saltimbocca was a disappointment. Stacking it on the mashed potatoes have muddled flavors and the chicken itself was very bland. My date thought the schnitzel was good but I cut off a piece and thought it tough.
Would strongly recommend, great service and excellent food.
Went here for brunch before going to see a show at the Fox. Food, Service, and Cocktails were all excellent. Want to go back to try the Manhattan's that were in the barrel at the bar.
Wonderful PreFox dining, service was teriffic. Waitstaff took excellent care of all our needs. Will absolutely return.
great food and atmosphere, and very close to Powell Hall and the Fabulous Fox Theatre!
Good timing in and out before Bills game; good food and service; a little loud.
We had a decent meal before the concert at Powell. I thought it was a bit more upscale based on the reviews. But it lives more true to its name as a true 'Grill'. The room where we were was noisy since the floors are laminate wood (I think). So don't look for quiet here. On the other hand, the food was very tasty and good portions. Overall, a good choice. But not a great choice for an evening with friends.
