Food was outstanding - everything we ordered was perfect, tasty, and fresh. Beer choices were great and our server was attentive and awesome. This is in the Marriott hotel - we we’re going to leave but OpenTable helped us make the choice of staying. You can tell that whoever was back there in the kitchen had pride in what they were serving. Nicely done.
It was my first time at Trios Bistro. I generally find hotel restaurants to be of a high quality and enjoyable to dine at, so I came here with my husband to celebrate a belated birthday. I made the reservation on OpenTable for 7:30 PM, and arrived a few minutes early. We were escorted to a table almost immediately (to my surprise, the waiter did not ask or check for a reservation on file - I suppose it's because most tables were empty/free).
The waiter that attended to us during our stay was very professional yet warm, and also efficient. He was able to make a couple of recommendations about the menu, which I appreciated. Some parts of our meal were delicious, especially the crab cakes (came piping hot and flavourful) and the bison steak (unique choice and done well). The presentation of the food was either very attractive (as with the flourless chocolate cake) or just average (our entrees), depending on what was ordered.
We were seated in a booth that faced the "entrance" of the restaurant and the bar. I was surprised by how small the restaurant was - it was basically an area sectioned off on the main foyer, and not a separate, enclosed dining room. I found the environment cozy, with dim lighting, a scattering of tables and chairs in the middle of the restaurant and booth seats surrounding that layout. However, very few patrons were there, and so the ambiance seemed kind of "drab" for a high-end hotel restaurant.
I did specify "birthday" as the special occasion on the OpenTable booking as I was prompted on the online form, but the staff at the establishment did not allude to this annotation nor did they say/do anything special (not sure if the restaurant actually received this information or planned on doing anything with it?).
Service was alright, one particular server was a little rude with seating. I made a reservation but still got a table right next to the entrance. We requested to move to a different table and were taken to a really dark area next to the emergency exit. He however later made it up for us with better service. Food was worth it.
This place remains open on Christmas Day, which is its largest edge. Food was alright.
Only serve breakfast at 11 am even though online menu shows lunch options.
Excellent food and phenomenal service! Quiet enough to enjoy conversation.
Must try the crab cakes.
Went for dinner after the theatre. We were greeted by someone who tried a little too hard to be overly friendly. Great waiter. I had inquired about the soup, and he brought be a little bowl to try. So sweet. Awesome crabcakes. Ordered some flatbreads. On the menu, it did not say there was proscuitto on it. I'm a vegetarian, so they brought another order, minus the meat. Very accommodating.
The staff were excellent and helped us make a terrific selection for our dinner. The serving staff was very helpful and personable and ensured our meal experience was memorable. It was an experience we look forward to repeating soon.
Disappointing - fish and chips was over-cooked and the batter way too heavy and burnt. Would not go there again.
Great find! The food was excellent and the service was first class. I don't understand why there aren't more people eating here. The duck special was one of the most unique and tasty meals I have ever had. The appetizers were large, beautifully presented and very tasty as well. The room is very open and finally decorated and the wait staff was very attentive.
