Love this restaurant the food is great and I’m always happy with the service.
I loved Trio’s individual house-baked lasagna in the past. Hadn’t had some for six months. Extremely disappointed! The lasagna is now a microwaved pile of mushy pasta. I used to be warned the lasagna would take 20-25 minutes to bake. Not this time and it arrived in 10 minutes. Had the same fast heat dissipation as other microwaved dishes.
I don’t know if this was because it was a Sunday and the owner wasn’t there, or it is now the common prep procedure. Anyway, I won’t have it again.
Too loud to enjoy a quiet evening. Food was terrific, service even better. Parking is a pain but not terrible. Great Restaurant.
Trio was great! All our meals were delicious. Service was awesome as usual.
As always , excellent offering- service- and always welcome.
We’ve been 6 times before because of the reliably good experience.
A very enjoyable evening. This place is such a popular neighbourhood spot, and full every evening, that it can be quite noisy at times. The carpaccio and caprese salad we ordered as appetizers were as delicious as our main course pizza with its fabulous crust. Service consistently good.
We’ve been going to this restaurant for the last 5 years and I have to say that I’m so happy that the food quality and service has remained excellent! We introduced this restaurant to our friends and they went 2 weeks ago and loved it!
The food was excellent, but the service was lacking. Our waiter did not come around to ask if we wanted dessert or coffee. We called him over to order coffee, but he did not ask if we wanted a dessert menu. Still, the food was very good, although rather pricey.
Totally disappointing on this visit. Had booked days in advance and booked downstairs as I DO KNOW that by the time food is walked up the stairs past the cold front door and placed on a counter for a server to find and then serve, it is bound to be at medium temperature at best when you do get it. Sure enough, it happened again. To make it worse, when we arrived i was told in front of our out of town guest that BECAUSE I booked through Open Table we will be seated up stairs. My pasta quantity was small, both my wife and guest sent their meals back for warming and they came back the same!!! Perhaps I will try them again, but unfortunately can't book through Open Table. Downstairs has been very fine in the past.
Always reliable consistent and delicious. We have been here many times and will be back soon. Pasta special with jumbos shrimp was great. Halibut was delicious too
Food is delicious and the service is wonderful.
Servers knowledgeable about menu and matching your preferences.
Flavours, presentation and portions always bang on.
Everything is great at Trio - food, service, ambiance and wine!
Great service and lovely servers. My father's Birthday dinner was fabulous!
Always excellent food.
I always love this restaurant. Food is always delicious and service always is on point.
The food was very good, I had the veal and beet salad and calamari which had lots of flavour. The presentation was very colourful. The service was very good! I would definitely go back.
Great food and service.
Nice smaller, intimate restaurant. Food was nice too but felt it was a bit on the pricey side for what you got. Wine was nice but no reasonable bottles in the $30-$40 price range for those of us just wanting to get out of the house. Plus portions were inconsistent. Two people I dined with had reasonable portions but mine and another were disappointingly small. Don't get me wrong, I am not about large portions, but I ordered the special which was a squash stuffed ravioli. It tasted nice but was more expensive than other dishes on the menu and was served as four thin smaller pieces with no compliments. Wasn't looking for a big meal but even with a $40 shared appetizer, I left hungry. Reasonable atmosphere, nice food but value due to price and portion is questionable.
Service and staff were amazing! Thank you for a wonderful evening.
We were placed upstairs. No one was there. After 45 more people came. Food was delicious.
Brilliant food - lots of specials to choose from in addition to extensive menu. Good wine selection and A1 service. Our waitress knew everything on the menu and was so attentive. Worth a trip - not inexpensive but worth it particularly in this area.
Great evening. Our food was fantastic. Grilled calamari is the best. My husband had squash ravioli with a butter sauce. And the caprese salad was outstanding. People are warm and attentive. We have been many times and will go again. Like to take our friends and family.
It was my husbands birthday
Usually a great restaurant with great food- one of our favourites in the area.
Valentine’s Day they had a set menu. Bad idea I think. Didn’t get our apps for 45 mins, and got the wrong ones. Over cooked meat and fish. Undercooked pasta. Smoky restaurant by the nights end with people complaining. We were there for 2.5 hrs. A bad night. They gave us a complimentary grappa which was appreciated.
Went to Trio for Valentine’s Day.
Didn’t know it was a fixed price menu.
Trio is one of our favourite restaurants in the area.
We’ve been there many times and had great service
and food. Unfortunately this time was not the case.
We were forgotten! The kitchen staff were overwhelmed.
The wait staff disorganized.
Food was delayed in being served. 1 hour or more and
was not up to their standard.
An expensive evening with unfortunate results:
Suggestion- don’t do something you’ve never tried before
unless you have some professional guidance.
My fiancé and I had an enjoyable dinner on Valentine's day. The ambience was right and the music was good. We were happy about the quality of a 5-course meal and impressed by the service of floor managers.
We used to go to Trio often but unfortunately the food has gone downhill. The pizza isn’t as good as it used to be. It took a while for the waiter to bring us the bread and it was just pizza crust with some oil. It used to have rosemary and roasted garlic and used to be delicious. We sat upstairs and it was very loud. We have been disappointed the last few times. Too bad because it was our go-to neighbourhood restaurant.
Fabulous evening. Amazing specials, great wine and service. Will definitely be back soon.
Food was really good and waitress was the best. Prices were reasonable and we were able to have a leisurely lunch without much pressure.
The weather was very cold and snowy. They sat us on the main floor at a cozy table and the entry door was kept closed and access was through a secondary door to keep it warm.
All four of us ordered different dishes with appetizers, all the food was great and fast. Great value, wine & service.
My grilled calamari was so good that I keep coming back for the same. But everybody that I have eaten with says their meals are delicious as well.
Excellent service and same for the daily specials.....a pleasant dining experience
Great quality Italian food, amazing specials
Have always enjoyed Trio restaurante for reliable and friendly service and excellent presentation of meals and have chosen it often for meals with friends and family birthdays or celebrations have recommended it to others who also return once they have experienced good food and friendly and helpful staff my latest meal was with my granddaughter to celebrate her 16th b-day and Trio was where she wanted to go to Trio she was treated well and our waiter took time to describe m
enu items thoroughly and made her feel very special! We will be back again! SueBradley
Last minute New Years eve reservation, and the team delivered a magnificent experience
Food was okay, portions small. The burrata was delicious. Very pricey.
I was so disappointed as we asked about the special verses the Pasta de Mari on the menu. Etc. The waiter assured us that the special was the best decision. We were shocked to find out the bill was so much!!!!
Why doesn’t someone mention the price. The de Mari was $23.95 we were charged $40,00 for the “special”
I have been going to Trio for quite a while and this is the first time I was extremely disappointed. I am hoping it was just a "one off" for this restaurant. The service was horrible!!! The food was bland. My party and I had to ask 3 x for the bill and it took 20 mins to finally get it. Our coats were on and we were standing at the table and all we got were stares from the other staff and the owner. The server seemed to bring everyone their bill except ours and came to our table last. There was nobody left in the restaurant. I am assuming it was the owner that came over to our table as he saw we were not happy in the least, and did NOT offer any apology for the wait, did not offer us anything, dessert, coffee, wine...NOTHING... this is bad customer relations. When we told him we were waiting all this time for the cheque all he could do was shake his head and say I know, I know. This is not how you keep clientele in a very competitive market. Very disappointing.
