Trio Rhode Island Ratings and Reviews
We were greeted warmly by the general manager, Joe, and a manager named Michelle. We quickly were seated and our server, Colleen, was super friendly and attentive throughout our entire meal. Our meals and drinks were phenomenal. Thank you to the team at Trio for an exceptional dining experience!
Another restaurant with such great potential but fails to make the customer feel special. The only accomodation to enhance a birthday was the offer to put a candle in a desert that we had to purchase. A very cold feeling on the part of the wait staff who treat you as though you are refuse.
Upon our arrival, two high chairs and children’s placemats had already been set which made our settling in easy. Our server was amazing, providing our daughters with water, juice boxes, a snack and their meals before my husband and I were served our food. This allowed us to actually eat our meals without them sitting and getting cold. We thoroughly enjoy trio and come here regularly.
Delicious - each entree was delightful. The fish and chips had a hint of vinegar with the fish flaky and tasty. The Bolognese was reminiscent of grandmother's and an extremely large portion. And the chicken parmesan was juicy and tender. Topping it off, the lemon sorbet and strawberry gelato were just enough to cleanse the palate and leave us fully satisfied. Great service as well!
Food was excellent as usual but our server was not up to the usual level I expect at this restaurant. It's usually very attentive without being intrusive but this time the server didn't seem to know how to prioritize. Other tables that arrived well after us received food and left before we even got ours. I'm hoping this person was brand new and will eventually improve!
We had an early New Year's Eve dinner here with our family. The food was very good and our waitress was attentive and very pleasant. We all ordered different entrees (pizza, pasta, salad and salmon) and they were all equally delicious. I appreciated their gluten-free options and was so happy to be served warm gluten-free rolls (what a nice surprise!) The atmosphere was cozy and relaxing. We've dined at Trios on several occasions and have always had a nice experience.
I want to love this place. Great location and I live all the restaurants in the Newport Restaurant Group. However the food and service just remains a little bit off as compared to its sister restaurants. Salmon ordered medium rare, sent it back because it came well done, drinks sat at the bar and came watered down the punchline, we came in right when it opened and were the only table seated. So no excuse for these mistakes and delays we were the only ones there to cook for and serve. I'll continue to go due to its conveniently close and I love my fare rewards. But I know I'm taking my chances, sometimes it's on sometimes it's just not.
We love this restaurant but at this visit, the service left a lot to be desired. Our waitress had an "attitude" from the beginning. We were dining with friends. I placed my order but received something different. When I addressed it, she said "I thought you said salmon". My husband and the other people heard me order swordfish. My friend asked what was in a dish and she said she had no idea. I think the food is great here but they really need to train their wait staff better. This is the second time out of the last three that we have had a waitress with an attitude.
