Trio Rhode Island Ratings and Reviews
We are residents of Great Island, Narragansett, RI we love this restaurant but the last 2 times we have gone there the Cod dish portion keeps getting smaller and small, please review this problem. I have been many times but have been disappointed the last few times in the size of portions and I don't have a big appetite!
We went for our anniversary and were very happy with the fun and vibrant atmosphere. My husband and I prefer enjoy the activity and people watching! The food was very tasty! We split the calamari which was perfectly cooked with crispy outside and tender inside. My husband had a delicious skirt steak with fries and I had the baked cod with lemon risotto. Super yummy! We ordered the brownie for dessert which was lacking in creativity. It tasted like something you would make from a box at home. Despite the blah dessert, the overall experience was great and we would definitely go back!
Probably our 15th trip to Trio. Always enjoy the atmosphere as well as the bar setting. Service was excellent as well as the food. Had the Surf and Turf special with "Lobster Hash". They should add the Lobster Hash as an appetizer. It was one of the best things I've ever tasted!!!
First time at Trio in Narragansett and won't be our last. Food was delicious, prices were reasonable, weather was beautiful, we sat outside on the patio. Wish they had a few more umbrella's as it was warm and sunny but that was ok. Waiter could have been a little more attentive as it was not packed. Cute outdoor bar area that was full or we would have stayed after dinner for a drink or too. 2nd Newport restaurant group restaurant that we tried and loved! Hoping to get back again before summer disappears!
Appetizers were great. Loved the salad special and meatballs. Main dishes were not good. Clams with linguine was basically a bowl of butter water with some noddles and clams. The pork chops were small, tough, bland and the bbq sauce tasted like it came from a bottle. The potato salad was hard, I could hardly push my fork through the potato's. I couldn't even finish the pork chop dish it was so bad. Spent over $150 dollars on a dinner for 4 people and the food was average at best. The location is great, the people are great, but, the cost for average food is not great.
Upscale franchise environment, food's good , but not much for the prices. It's just ok nothing special....server doesn't give you time ...kept coming back to the table to ask if we were ready to order entree....we just got our appetizer!!! For the overpriced food please just give us time to eat the appetizer!
Seated immediately when checking in because of our OpenTable Reservation ! The food was incredible as was the service. Easy on street parking in a fantastic Pier location close to shopping & Ocean Drive scenic walk after dinner. Can't wait to dine there again !
We had been wanting to eat at Trio but each time I called, it was to late and they were booked. Last weekend I thought to make a reservation. We went for dinner tonight and the restaurant was rather quiet when we arrived at 5:45. We sat down and we were greeted quickly. The wine was good, the Parmesan Fries were good, the salads were large and tasty and the warm homemade bread was also good. At this point our waitress disappeared and at 7:15 we waved her over and asked for our bill. It had been 35 minutes since she had cleared our salads and we had not gotten our meals. It still took her 15 minutes to come back with the bill. I saw her talking to the manager who never even came by our table. Not that I expect anything for free but we also got a bill for what we had eaten. I was a waiter and Manager at Marriott and many other restaurants for years and not quite the way I would have handled things. I will say, what we had was good and the waitress apologized up and down. She even wrapped our food to go but I was too aggravated to take it. Won't go back but from the looks of the crowd, they will be fine without us.
My husband, Randy & I enjoyed a great dinner on the outdoor patio on Friday evening. Colleen was the Manager on Duty and couldn't have done enough for us. Her professional demeanor coupled with her warmth brought dining pleasure to us as soon as we were seated. Sharon, our server was excellent, and our delicious food was brought to us in a most timely fashion.
We will be back again......Denise Russ
We have been to Trio Narragansett many times. But this time we felt the food was particularly good. We started off with oysters on the half shell and littleneck stuffies. My girlfriend had one of our favorites, the cod, and I had the monkfish special. We sat outdoors. Enjoyed our bottle of wine and totally chill dinner. The ideal Friday night way to put the week behind and start the weekend.
