Trio New American Cuisine
Trio is one of the best restaurants in DFW, in my opinion. If you like Grace, Lonesome Dove, Del Frisco’s Double Eagle, Waters, Chefs Point, etc... none are better than Trio. Th Chef’s creations are fantastic. Don’t let the modest setting fool you. Give Trio a try and you won’t be sorry.
Y’all I cannot express on here how much I love this place! The food is exquisite and made from scratch, ambiance is low-key and romantic, I absolutely recommend it! Valentines dinner was a set menu and I had a very hard time choosing each course. I had an amazing barramundi fish filet that was crispy on the edges and served in a rich, flavorful broth that I literally wanted to drink from the bowl. Every course was paired with a perfectly timed glass of wine, chosen by the very talented sommelier. The service is excellent, they are passionate about the food they serve and it is evident in their delivery of the menu. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants! Go now and make a reservation, because it will be full. You will not be disappointed, support our local chefs!
Overall for the price that we paid the Valentine's Day deal was nice but not worth the money. The food options were ok, but I would personally not pick my choices to eat again. All of the dishes were plated well and had a sense of being up scale to high class but they weren't. A BBQ spare rib is always a BBQ spare rib, I liked it but was not impressed. My wife had the duck which was very tough and a tad undercooked.
For a couple hundred dollar meal my main issue was being a restaurant in a strip mall. These strip mall restaurants have a really hard time not looking like they were once a office or Vap store. Sound and decor are typically issues in these restaurants and this fact was true throughout Trio. It didn't help that everyone was sitting on top of each other.
The last expectation that was not met was the wait staff. One gentleman was well trained and polite and noticed that we were not given water or been visited in 5 minutes since we sat down. He apologized and gave us water and notified our server. The hostess was useless and told us what corner to sit in by pointing at it. The staff was nice but they were the same caliber as a server at Applebee's.
Excellent service from the owner and his staff to accompany the exceptional cuisine.
Wonderful wonderful wonderful! Food was fantastic!!
Normally like this place but the Valentines fixed menu was disappointing
Overpriced as well
One of my favorite places to eat lunch ! Food is fabulous! I have used Trio for catering and was perfect! Valentines dinner was wonderful. However, I thought $100 a person was too much for the set dinner menu. Our bill was $400 . We did not have any wine or alcholol.
We always love the friendly staff and the outstanding food. Trio is our favorite restaurant for a weeknight supper or a special occasion night out.
We've been to Trio several times, with mixed results. This time it was very good. Creative menu with each dish well prepared.
The service was exceptional, our waitress did everything perfectly. The one less-than-ideal experience was with the Kimche Burger - ordered Medium, my wife's meal was clearly Rare. Not one to complain, I didn't realize until after our meal was completed - she was able to pick around the edges, but for the most part left the rest of the meal untouched. Our server noticed, had the meal removed from our tab, so thank you.
The special was bacon-wrapped scallops and risotto, extremely tasty. The biscuits they serve pre-meal are a treat in their own right; Gumbo was ordered spicy, but still didn't pack much of a punch.
We'll return, great ambiance and menu.
Food was fantastic! Noise level was too loud for conversation.
Attention to detail was missing. Shrimp and grits served without tempura fried okra and then dropped on table in small ramekin and definitely not tempura fried. Ginger sweet potatoes warm at best as were brussel sprouts. Service lax and no one asked how it all was not what we expect from this place
Great food. Dishes are unique, tasty and one of the best. Local chef that is terrific, pastry and desserts are exceptional. It is pricey so it is a special occasion place.
Food was fantastic!!!
Staff made us feel a little rushed while enjoying such a nice dinner.
HIGHLY recommend a face lift to improve the ambience to warm up the stark atmosphere.
We went to Trio during restaurant week. The food and service were very good and the wine list fairly extensive but a little pricy. The entrees were creative and tasty. We enjoyed the experience even though the noise level is a little loud for normal conversation.
Always wonderful! Chef Jason and his wonderful staff never disappoint!
The food is truly first rate. Everything we ate was made with high quality, fresh ingredients and was very flavorful and cooked to perfection. A great local gem.
Trio is a lovely dining experience. From the time we walked in until we left I felt like it was a special dining experience. Food was unique and the presentation was as great as any other fine dining I have ever experienced. Excited that this gem is in our neighborhood. Our server was attentive but not intrusive. Our dinners were fabulous.
Great set menu. Wine selection was perfect. Each course was cooked to perfection. Large main courses were a welcome surprise. Looking forward to going back
Trio is one of our favorite restaurants, food is always wonderful and they have a great choice of wines
Wonderful holiday dinner. Food was creative, fresh and delicious. Service outstanding. Vibe very chic. Will definitely be back for special occasions or date night.
Wonderful dining experience! We had the lamb, which was perfectly cooked and paired with the most gorgeous caramelized Brussels sprouts. My friend had the special, which was a pan-seared white fish over mashed cauliflower. Also deserving of a mention were the best biscuits brought out before the meal. Marcie, our server, was knowledgeable and professional without being pretentious. Did a great job. Also appreciated meeting Chef Jason(?) as well.
Just a note about price vs. the amount of food on your plate: this is a farm to table concept, featuring local, small farms beautifully prepared. I will pay a premium for local, grass-fed meat and dairy, and appreciate and value the upgrade in quality. If you do too, I highly recommend this venue and will be back!
Great food but pricey. Great service as well. We will come back next year
We were so impressed with the food quality and the seasonal menu. The duck fat biscuits and fresh berry/jalepeno jelly was a nice accompaniment. My husband and I split the wedge salad, but next time I won't share! The chili roumalade dressing added a delicious twist. My daughter's hamburger with kimchee thousand island dressing, my husband's lamb chops, and my scallops with beef belly were outstanding.
This is going to now be one of our favorite restaurants in the area. The food, service, ambiance, and attention to detail was great! The Duck fat biscuits and seasonal preserves were a nice complementary addition. I had the Posole soup and my husband had the surf and turf po boy. The food was fresh and a great culinary experience. Hope you can go!
Great food and service. We will definitely eat there more often. Nessa was great as our waitress.
The food was FABULOUS! LOVED everything we tried! We will return!
Outstanding food and unparalleled service! Our favorite restaurant in the Southlake region.
Great Food. Neighborhood find.
The food and friendly staff were as excellent as always.
We love this place. The food is fresh and fun to explore. Unique preparations. Nice wine choices.
Too expensive for the quality of food. Great ambience, but disappointed in the average food for above average prices.
Creative seasonal menu with wonderful food and service. Highly recommend!
We love this place. Food is creative and always delicious. I have not had a single bad item. The service was wonderful. They are so knwledgable and really know the menu and the choices. Moreover I love that we can bring our own wine.
The exterior of Trio might not appear impressive but the food and service certainly are. This is one of my neighborhood favorites. We took a friend for her birthday, and it was her first time there. It was a Friday evening at about 6:30. The restaurant was actually quiet for a Friday.
I had brought 2 bottles of wine for the evening. They do have a nice wine list and if you bring your own they charge $15 for a corking fee.
We started with the Artisan cheese display. It had 3 cheeses, a little meat, house made spiced nuts (very good), some watermelon and kimchi slices (my favorite) and nice presentation.
We all shared the spinach apple salad with the warm bacon vinaigrette dressing and ordered 2 of the Bourbon Street shrimp & grits. (very flavorful and perfect grits).
We ended a perfect evening with the pumpkin spiced bread pudding to share and it was incredible :)
Excellent food and service. Best rack of lamb I have had in years! On your next visit, you must order the cheese board appetizer - tasty and fun selections. Creative choices with MODERATE price. Good selection of wines. Definitely now on the list of our FAVORITE restaurants.
Wonderful food-
Excellent service-
Love to go to Trio!!!
Food was excellent with some unique flavor combinations. The best rack of lamb we ever tasted and we have eaten that dish from New Zealand to South America to Europe.
This restaurant may be small but the chef is amazing!
Service was great and we enjoyed new items on their menu. Truly a neighborhood gem.
Great food as usual with interesting dishes. This is a quiet place very good for lunch or dinner.
