Trio is being renovated, so it is currently in a ballroom. Tables and chairs are not what you would expect from a Four Seasons. Gnocchi and cerviche appetizers were good, but small. My fellow diners had redfish and Chilean sea bass and liked both dishes, but my rack of lamb was difficult cult to cut and salty. Popovers were left in oven too long. Crime brûlée desert was good, but very small. Overall good, but disappointing.
We were quite disappointed by our experience. The restaurant (in the Four Seasons) was under renovation which was not known to us until we arrived. We were given the choice between eating outside, or eating in the ballroom, at which point we probably should have left. We selected outside and, while the servers were relatively attentive, this was not the fine dining experience that we would have expected (but that we paid for). Service was slow, the food overcooked and, at the same time, cold upon delivery and the ambiance was no better than dining on someone's home patio. While we are not likely to be back at all, renovations are supposed to continue for 2-3 months, so I wouldn't suggest anyone else going at all before September 2018.
In a word - disappointing. The food was exceptional, as I would have expected from Four Seasons; however, it was not ready at the start of the brunch (buffet foods still in plastic wrap). We weren't notified until 20 hours before our special occasion that the hotel was being renovated, making the brunch a limited item selection and "view seating" non-existent. We were offered patio seating, but with 90 degree weather this top-of-the-line hotel couldn't accommodate misters or fans. I would rather the hotel not advertise their pricey brunch until the renovations are complete. It is highly doubtful I will ever return. Instead I will continue to drive to San Antonio to experience the world-class Sunday brunch at La Mansion.
Unfortunately, the evening was uncomfortable due to the noise level from the bar patrons. We understood there is a remodel in progress but until its completed, we'll have to skip Trio. In addition, we were there for a pre-theatre dinner, but did not receive the discount that was advertised, nor the parking pass. We indicated on our reservation it was pre theatre and also told the waiter. The noise level was incredible as the bar is also in the dining space. Too bad!
The food was excellent and we can't wait until Trio is back into a new space.
Sat in the bar for happy hour on Saturday. We were the only table for quite some time. I feel like they didn’t pay much attention to us. Follow up service was definitely slow. None of the food was anything specials. The crispy Brussel sprouts were not crispy, the tuna on the tuna tostada was good, but it was very dry. Needed more sauce or something and the chip it was on was totally uninspired. A wonton chip would go a long way on that dish. Steak fries were good, Kung pao cauliflower was good, but all in all definitely wouldn’t go back before checking out lots of other places first
The fish was outstanding at lunch time! The vegetables were perfectly cooked.
Fantastic buffet brunch. Food was prepared perfectly. One of the best brunches in all of Texas not just Austin alone. Service was excellent. Staff were polite and very attentive.

Went with a colleague for appetizers and dessert. We had the yellowfin cooked on the Japanese hot stone, pork belly with a quail egg and salads. The hit stone preparation was exceptional visually and well as taste. Dessert of s’mores was also unique and great. Not inexpensive but well worth the splurge
Amazing food. but the service was somewhat inattentive due to a wedding also taking place at the time. We had a big family dinner and everyone wanted to order more drinks etc and there was almost no wait staff available for periods of time throughout the evening.
One of our families favorite "dining destinations" in Austin. This visit we were celebrating my wife's 60th Birthday. As always a wonderful Sunday Brunch. Bountiful variety in food options and beautifully presented. Highly professional and friendly wait staff. Beautiful room. Always meets or exceeds expectations. Can't wait to return.
relaxing, nice atmosphere. food was outstanding and the wine was perfect match with the salmon. service was very good, just more relaxed than previous visits. beautiful ambiance and lighting.
Family get together and a birthday
If you dine out often this place would not be memorable. Quality was above average and in line with the Four Season standard but this meal was very vanilla. Nothing memorable or worth going back for. In a city like Austin I could find many better choices.
I eat out more than most. I have eaten here many times since it opened. I cant recommend this place now. It has staffing issues in management, therefore everything below the manager is problematic.
The service was second to none, our server John was pleasant and had the best personality. Each of our dishes were cooked to perfection and full of flavor. We were celebrating my mom's birthday and rather than offer a standard chocolate or cheesecake, the chef put together a chocolates and berries plate that was just perfect. It was just what she would have wanted and was really thoughtful with the "Happy Birthday" message in chocolate as well. Three of us shared the Kansas City Strip and sides, while one of us had the Iron Chicken. All fabulous. If you are looking to be treated fabulously while dining on the best meals, look no further.
Excellent Sunday Brunch! We were in Austin for my husband's birthday and he wanted a good brunch. The Four Seasons never disappoints. Beautiful food presentation, excellent quality and great service.

I took my three teenage sons to celebrate their excellent report cards. Many places would give lesser service to a group with teens — but not the Four Seasons. Our waiter was super attentive and engaged with all three boys. We had the smoked ribeye, bone-in ribeye, NY strip and filet mignon. All were perfectly cooked. The appetizers, salads and desserts were excellent. My sons proclaimed it the best meal of their lives. Well done Trio.
Good service but the food was tasteless. Much better options in this price range.

John and his team took great care of us. We read in the Austin magazine that the chicken was the best, and they were right! We had a table for five off to the end. It was almost like having a room to ourselves.

This is our very reliable go-to venue for a Sunday brunch. The quality of seafood and service is consistently high, what one would expect from Four Seasons. They have started charging $1 per mimosa, bloody Mary and champagne but the wait staff make the experience quite seamless, removing any potential awkwardness. The pours are very generous and the refills are prompt. The valet parking rates have gone up.
I expected a more intimate setting and a more formal environment. My date and I were in suit and dress. There were people in shorts, flip flops, t-shirts, and yoga pants two tables away. Another table had kids in shorts and playing. I understand they were probably hotel guests. Nevertheless, if I am spending $200 on dinner, I expect more. Food was very good, but pricey. The waiter "accidentally" charged me for one cocktail too many at $14. For the same amount of money we could have dined at Truluck's or Eddie V's.... 10x the experience and ambiance.
Also, when booking, I was given the impression that later seating was unavailable. However, upon leaving after our 6p reservation I noticed over 50% vacancy in the restaurant. I assume you must have more walk-in guests from the Hotel than online bookings.
I won't be coming back. I live here in Austin and dine out weekly. I have had positive experiences at other hotel restaurants as well. This just wasn't what I expected from the Four Seasons.
The service was not good. Our server took our order and then we didn't hear back from him until our bill came. The food was so so, definitely not worth the price. Every table but ours received bread. Disappointed.

I made the reservation several weeks in advance to celebrate the birthdays of two colleagues and called to confirm it several days beforehand. The food and service were excellent and did not disappoint; however, I was disappointed in that I had requested a window table through OpenTable's reservation and then again when I called to confirm. I was told they couldn't guarantee a window table and when we arrived they had no open window seating, but I saw that there was a reserved sign on one window table so why not accommodate my request?
We were there for the pre-fixe Valentine's Dinner. We selected the option including the wine pairings. The food was excellent and the pairings were spot-on. The food presentation and serving sizes were perfect. This is a great option for downtown dining.
So our experience wasn't all that great. It started with them cancelling my open table reservation the day of. I quickly went back on and got another reservation for the same time, so I'm not sure what happened. This happened at about 2 PM for a 7 PM reservation.
When we got there we were told we'd have to wait 20 minutes for our table, even though we had a reservation. We went to the bar, but there were no chairs as there was a party in the bar area that took all the bar stools. Nobody else came in to be seated after us and there were several open tables.
20 minutes later we were seated. Right not to a couple with their dog. I like dogs, but I don't want to go to an upscale restaurant and pay $200 to each next to a dog. Sorry, I just think you can leave your dog at home when you go out for a nice dinner.
The steaks were great. The sides were just ok though. Drinks were also fantastic.
All in all, the ambiance of the restaurant is dated and it just doesn't feel like an upscale special occasion kind of place. I'd rather go somewhere that's a bit nicer and has better trained hostess and can honor a reservation without an additional 20 minute wait past a reservation.

It was great! I come to this restaurant only on special occasions but I never make that kind of information apparent in my reservation. The past weekend my husband and I celebrated our 22nd anniversary and we took my in-laws to celebrate. Our waiter overheard when my in-laws congratulated us and towards the end of our meal the waiter came to our table with the MOST AMAZING! dessert on the house!!!! it was plated so beautifully with a big HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!!! and to my that is great service ! paying attention to every detail, they did make me feel extra special! Yes, the restaurant can be pricey but the service, the attention and the warm exhibit by the staff toward the guess is priceless. You definitely come to this restaurant not necessary for the status quo but for the experience.

Our meal was excellent and service was very good. Wine is marked up higher than other comparable restaurants which was disappointing but the Ceviche was wonderful. My wife had the Filet Oscar and loved it. I have the Pork Chop which was very good. Crisp Brussel Sprouts and Coconut Cauliflower were excellent sides.
The only issue was the restaurant could not find our reservation, Our reservation on the Open Table app showed the correct date but the confirmation email had it for the following day. Seems like an Open Table issue.
Ohhhhh my. The hotel of course is beautiful and posh. We got to place about 45 minutes early, but they seated us immediately, which I appreciated. The menu offered interesting choices and we were excited to try. I ordered the salmon, my partner ordered the filet. We got Brussels sprouts and mushrooms for sides.
My fish was very good and the avocado mouse was delicious, but on the thin end of my salmon, the bites tasted very much like steak. I wondered if they grilled the fish and steak on the same surface. Not a complaint, just odd...I like steak, but would have preferred the salmon flavor all the way through. The Brussels sprouts were yummy.
My partner ordered her filet mignon medium rare. We are used to a small line of pink. It was well done and dry. Just as she's poking at it a manager comes by and asks how our meal was. Partner says, "well, I ordered it med well, and it's well done" manager, who was sweet, began to stammer as if she didn't know what to do. She offers a sauce to put over it. REALLY? Then finally says, they will cook her another one. My partner fumbles and mutters..um...well I'm HUNGRY and don't want to wait, I will make do. So, here is a tip to the manager. Say, "We are going to make sure your steak is perfectly cooked because we only serve perfection. But for your inconvenience, we will comp you the steak, and bring an appetizer of your choice on the house to tide you over" None of that happened. My partner ate her $40 dry steak as was. The mushrooms tasted delicious, but they were very stringy, and very slimy, I don't know what went wrong there, unless they were canned. Inedible texture. Meal is over and we get our $400 bill. Which wasn't our bill. Some hoopla then to straighten it out, we thought--, until we had to call the manager tonight because the charge went through our bank.
So....a 4 star hotel, a 2 star experience. Too bad.
