Trilussa Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
We were greeted by the maitre’d. The restaurant was totally filled. We had reservations thru open table. The maitre’d was apologetic for having to keep us waiting on a cold night for a table o clear and offered us a complementary appetizer for keeping us waiting. This was unexpected and just delightfully. The food was absolutely delicious. The waiter was 4 star -rated because he seemed overly busy and we did not have time to have a second wine when he came to the table to offer dessert. Otherwise I can’t remember having a more delicious and enjoyable evening at Trilussa. Can’t wait to return.
I had reservation for 5:45 PM. Arrived early but was not able to be seated until after 6 PM. What is the purpose of reservations if not honored by the restaurant?
Service was slow to non- existent. Food was good but nothing to shout about. This was most likely our last trip to this Trilussa restaurant as many other Italian restaurants in the area.
The fresh warm bread and black olive tapenade was a delicious start, but from there it was just adequate. It was amusing to be asked if we wanted marinara sauce with the spaghetti and meatballs and then be told later it was a marinara with meat—uh Bolognese. We asked if we could get the Vodka sauce with spaghetti and meatballs, was told no, then saw on the menu that you could order the spaghetti with vodka sauce and add meatballs or chicken. Waiter did not know his menu. Caesar salad was kind of tasteless. If they split it for you it’s a $3 charge, so just get an extra plate. The meatballs were rather mushy. Chicken piccata had two tiny pieces of chicken in fairy greasy sauce. Good live music up front. Felt like an ok Italian chain restaurant.
It is always a pleasure going to Trilussa. The restaurant was packed. Our waiter was detained because of a very large group he was attending to. When one of the other waiters realized the situation, he stepped in, got order, explained what was happening with our waiter and he delivered the cocktails. Great team work.
The food was wonderful as always.
We had a lovely dinner at Trilussa. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was beautiful. We really appreciated the live music. It was delightful but not too loud. Our server was friendly and helpful. We will definitely return.
My wife and I used to visit Trilussa regularly a few years ago but suddenly stopped after a bad experience. We are very happy that we gave it another try. We were early for our reservation, so we had wine and appetizers in the bar. Decent house wine and a very good pour for low $. A pleasant surprise was the wonderful Calamari, especially the tart tomato dipping sauce. We would go back for that experience alone. In the dinning room, the service was every bit as good as the bar. We both had pasta and they were kind enough to accommodate my wish to have only clams with my Linguine. Nice people. My one and only picky criticism was the abundance of sauce with the the clams and pasta. It is not often you have a customer complaining of "too much" sauce, especially good sauce like this, but it was still an inch and a half deep in my bowl when I was done. That would never happen in Italy. All in all, a great evening. We will be back. Thank you.

Great Staff, friendly and helpful
Live Music, nice ambiance. Not loud but pleasant
Food is average (I am a bit of a foodie). Not bad by any means, but un-remarkable
Did not know I could bring my own bottle of wine.
I feel like my girlfriend and I were the youngest people in the restaurant, and we are middle age.
Delicious food, affordably priced. I had Risotto Pescatore and the portion was ample with lots of clams, mussels, calamari and shrimp. My husband had the Gnocchi and loved the taste and texture. We went with friends who gave it a great recommendation and we weren't disappointed. Had the house wine and it was well under 10.00 and it was a delight! We will be returning for sure!
Trilussa is one of my favorites Italian restaurants in the Coachella Valley. The food is constantly good, the prices reasonable, and the atmosphere is pleasant and makes it easy to hold a conversation. The live music on the weekends is a bonus. Highly recommend.
I have eaten at Trilussa many times and have never been disappointed. The portions are big, good and I enjoy the leftovers for lunch.
The big disappointment was the decaf
Cappuccino and I asked the waiter twice if it was. Well, two o’clock in the morning I know
It was caffeinated. If waiter wasn’t sure he should have remade it. Very upsetting to not
sleep with nothing to be done.
Trilussia is a cozy, well appointed Italian restaurant. The food is good to very good; certainly better than your average neighborhood Italian hot spot. They have a good variety of homemade pasta dishes as well as veal entrees and lots of chicken options. Prices are moderate and fair. We had a great Sicilian tomato salad (variation on a Caprese), a nice veal marsala, chicken Cariofi (a nice option), chicken Carbonara (sauce was a little too heavy, but delicious), and a Swordfish special with a Scampi-type sauce that was delicious. All dishes were served at appropriate temperature and the timing was good. Presentation was basic and entree accompaniments were basic. It was a Saturday and there was live music (singer+key board), but they were pushed off into a corner and only really contributed to the noise level. Corkage was very reasonable at $15.
