The shine from Tribeca Grill has certainly faded and clearly, no one is interested in reviving this place- not the chef who has selected the oddest menu items (no harmony) nor the service (servers were completely delightful but the service was horrible).
Beginning with the Restaurant week menu- starters were stale tortilla chips, guacamole and what they called salsa (chopped tomato water), bagged mixed greens with vinaigrette (too many onions). We added other apps/sides: calamari (too salty and rubbery), onion rings (looked phenomenal but lacked salt) & the worse Mac and cheese (no flavor, again).
The entrees of ribs (tender) came with a warm potato salad and cabbage slaw- both, had no seasoning. Others had the poached salmon and chicken, which were just ok. Dessert was a chocolate brownie (horrible), cheesecake and believe it or not, watermelon. Yes, three little slices of plain watermelon.
I think the chef gave up yet, however, the prices on the menu defy his/her ambition. This place is simply NOT worth it. In a city of fabulous other places, please, choose another option.
We had a great dinner and wonderful service. The kitchen got slightly backed up but they apologized and compensated us. Very pleased!
Food was excellent; service impeccable. The Tribeca Grill is always a winner!
Beautiful place, great service, and excellent food. Would prefer crusty Italian bread over the rolls, but will definitely return.
Amazing all round including service and sommelier wine and the steak
We really wanted to like it. Service was slow, but not going to complain about that in light of the aftermath of Covid as they must be short staffed. Cocktails were not the quality or presentation that I expect for NYC and $18. The food was fine, but that’s it. The tables, ambiance etc made me wonder if I was at DeNiro’s Tribeca Grill. They did have amazing artwork on the walls. Maybe not a fair review for a restaurant trying to get back on its feet post Covid, but only stating what we experienced. Note - there is a 5% Covid recovery assessed to every check and we were happy to pay that.
The restaurant is lovely and inviting. The food was very good. However, the service did not match the ambiance and price level. Our appetizer arrived with our meal. Our server did not check in with us during the meal and the wine arrived after we had finished eating.
Wonderful service as always. They never rush you. We were comfortable outside. Lovely food.
We had an amazing night celebrating our son’s birthday! The food and service was top notch!
Waiter was knowledgeable and attentive. When he noticed the creamer had curdled in our after dinner coffee, he removed them immediately and replaced them with fresh coffee and creamer and was very apologetic.
Welcoming, accommodated moving our table from outside to inside, and the wait staff was attentive and not rushing us.
However, they put us right next to another table, although there were hardly any other diners. No one is masked inside. SUrprising.
The food was just okay.
The dessert of the day hit all the marks.
The stand out, to me, was the service.
I have been to the Tribeca Grill several times and never had a bad meal there. The food is excellent, the atmosphere is classy yet comfortable, and the service is amazing. We had a vaccinated friends reunion dinner there on Friday and everyone loved it. We will be back!!
In summary: hectic with mediocre food and questionable drinks.
-My wife ordered a black Russian. A white Russian came out. The young waitress tried to convince my wife that it was a black Russian.
-I had serious doubts that my vodka was Grey Goose and that the glass of cabernet was what I ordered. I dismissed it to my pallet being off until I saw another patron return a drink and insist he witness the next pour.
-My steak was cooked just right. Unfortunately it not very tender.
-Wait staff all try to be helpful by cross covering tables. In my opinion, the system doesn't work, probably because of inexperience and lack of training.
-Lastly, we got there about an hour before the rush started. We were shown seats with what looked like velour covering which I immediately rejected as did 3 other couples after us. Change the seats guys.
Service was awful, couldn’t get a drink, one bartender for whole restaurant. Over run, a/c not working. Not enough staff. Important business meal ruined.
Seems to have lost its mojo. Disappointing. They have work to do
Our experience was pleasant
Restaurant seems like an old friend who has seen better days. Pandemic has taken a big toll. Look forward to the Grill getting back to itself.
Fabulous. Service was amazing. We reserved outdoors. It was raining and they graciously moved us inside.
Excelente atencion de todos!! Especialmente Vladimir que fue muy servicial un verdadero genio!!
EVERTHING we had was FABULOUS!!!!
The service was EXCELLENT!!!
Great staff outstanding food.
Our experience was great, I messed up and made a reservation for 4 people instead of 5, but they still accommodated us. They originally were going to have us surrender the table w/in an hour and a half but when we asked if there was another option, they figured out a plan to allow us the table longer - so great. Our waiter was also so fun and friendly and of course the food and drink was great :)
Excelente comida, maravillosa , muy recomendable, fuimos a otros restaurantes italianos y nada que ver, mi esposo es de Florencia, y aquí comimos espectacular!!!
Fabulous as always
Food was great. Service was friendly
The food, wine and service at Tribeca Grill are all absolutely phenomenal!! Located on a beautiful block in Tribeca, it is a must go-to whether you are a local or visiting the city. From the friendly management, hostess and waitstaff including Max, Morgan, David and Teddy to the knowledgeable sommelier Vinny, everyone goes out of their way to make you feel like family. The food is delish, I especially loved the burrata appetizer, four cheese ravioli and homemade pappardelle. The wine selection is amazing as well. Tribeca Grill never disappoints!!!
It was great to be back! One of my comfort places as I always feel at home. The food, service and atmosphere were all great! Thank you to all!
Tribeca grill is our go-to restaurant for special occasions. It does t disappoint. The service is attentive without being intrusive, the food is wonderful and the ambience is upscale without being stuffy. Highly recommend.
Food and service was simply beautiful. The ribeye special was amazing, highly recommend. Max, the manager, was very friendly - it almost felt like I knew him for a decade. Great place and will be back soon.
Food was ok, ambiance wasn’t there, would go anywhere else in the area before going back here.
We sat outside and were treated like royalty. It was great food -- from appetizers to dessert. We were there for 3 hours, a party of 4, so happy to be together again.
My burger was excellent. My husband's grilled pork chop was very good. Our cocktails also were very good.
Absolutely stunning evening
Superb food, amazing service, wonderful atmosphere.
After an early hiccup on reopening, they have sorted it out, and the Tribeca Grill is back, better than ever. Great food and great experience.
Excellent. So glad they’re back!
Service was exceedingly slow and inattentive
We had the Burgers and Burgundy selection. It was a lovely Volnay and 2 good burgers. Can't ask for more.
Service good food mediocre. Overall overrated and over priced
Service was slow, hard to get waiters attention.Soup never came, good news they didn't charge us.
