Trevi's Restaurant - Omni Mandalay Ratings and Reviews
The food was the saving grace for this review. The service was pretty bad. We were there over an hour and saw our waitress only a few times. That would be understandable for a Saturday night except we were one of 2 occupies tables in the entire restaurant. They did have great gluten free options and that’s why they received such a high rating from us.
I read the previous reviews before selecting a restaurant to host our out of town upper management team. I went ahead of the team and checked out the table and requested the staff move us next to a window for the view of the lake, and they did so with no problem. The atmosphere was awesome, and the food was the same. I read where some experienced slow service -- we did not. Our waiter was very attentive and knowledgeable -- quick too. I have nothing but good things to say, and we will be going back.
Awesome breakfast buffet. Organic ingredients, a great selection of breads and muffins. Chopped pecans for the oatmeal with fresh berries. Eggs and omelets made to order fresh. Enjoyed the blueberry infused sausage. Casual but elegant dining. A1 service all around.
Romantic views, and tolerable background noises are what framed our dining exprience. Although the patio area currently faces a developing construction project of adjacent loft style apartments, the gandola traveling along the Canal softens the mood. The food was tasty, and true tradition. However, it would be nice to have a few go to entrees for the undeveloped pallet. The patio could use a deterent for mosquitoes (a couple fire pits would be a nice addition), but overall, a pleasantly memorable destination to dine.
Ate at Trevis before a concert at the new Music Factory. Sat on the patio which COULD be super nice (on the canal, but set way back from the water) but is very tired - really needs a major overhaul. Inside of the restaurant looked much better but overall the hotel is aging. Patio was very casual so we felt comfortable in jeans, not stuffy. Service was fine, no complaints but nothing special - typical for a hotel restaurant. Wine by the glass selection was decent but by the bottle was not that extensive and fairly pricey (again usual hotel structure). My wife and I shared the Cappesante appetizer which is scallops over a polenta - very good. We had the Prawns for the main course which were done nicely and tasty. Food was very good - ashamed the environment wasn't better - could be more than just a hotel restaurant and Las Colinas needs more. They will have to step it up to compete with the new restaurants coming with the Music Factory.
The food was good. The service was slow. The kitchen and the server both seemed slow. The drinks and complimentary bread took more than 15 minutes. It was after 9 PM on a Saturday night. We had a reservation. The restaurant was pretty dead. They did not appear to be running short on staff. I had to ask for our server on at least 3 occasions So, it was a little frustrating.
After we ordered it was a long wait to get the flatbread so the waitress brought bread and butter. 🤔 The arugula salad lacked any flavor whatsoever. When the bill came we noticed the wine was not on the tab so rather than wait forever for the waitress to come back we went looking for her. She seemed to know that already and said, "It's ok." So was that an apology for the slow service? We don't know.
We had brunch the morning after our stay for our wedding night. It was nearly empty, so mental note for an easy brunch restaurant! Although they have a buffet, neither of us eat enough to warrant a $22 omelet vs the (custom made) menu one for $17 (ish - I didn't really remember the individual prices, though they were between $12 and $18). The restaurant overlooks an outside living area and grassy area between the hotel and the canal. It's quiet and we really enjoyed the mimosas as well!
My family and I had a nice Easter Brunch at Trevi's. We were impressed by the selection of food choices that were being offered. The ambiance was great, and if we had young kids (instead of teenagers), they would have absolutely loved the Egg Hunt that was restocked every 1/2 hr, as well as the petting zoo with 3-4 ponies. Very well done indeed!
Went there for 10 year anniversary dinner. We ate outside on the patio and both had a pasta dish, appetizer and wine. The food was delicious and plentiful! Service was prompt and friendly. We were even offered a complimentary dessert because we were celebrating our anniversary! Highly recommended!!!!!
A wonderful find in the land of steak steak and more steak. Coming from NY I really appreciate a full bodied Minestrone Soup. The soup was exceptional! as an entree I had the rigatoni with fresh red peppers and sausage, asked for some extra heat and the chef really delivered. I swear my glasses had fogged up- yummy
Not rushed, the server knew the menu and was very attentive
This is definite stop next time I am in Irving Area
The temperature in the restaurant was uncomfortable, cold. The soup was bland, the appetizer was bland.
I had the meatballs and spaghetti, the marinara sauce was good but the meatballs were too firm, they should be soft enough to cut with a fork, I had to use a knife.
Service was not terrible but slow and there were only 3 other tables at the time. Mushroom soup appetizer was very good, good wine list. The entrees... so bad. Server recommended the salsiccia e peperoni (sausage and peppers) pasta dish and we also ordered the pollo di Angelo. Everything was so bland and just terrible. Decided to order the lava cake thinking "you can't screw up lava cake, even dominos does that" and of course, it was a lump of spongy undercooked cake covered in chocolate syrup. Save your money.
I read the reviews on Open Table and since I was staying at the Omni Hotel I decided to give Trevi a shot. Trevi was an utter disappointment from the server to the food. The server couldn't remember who ordered what at our table of 6. Service was slow. I ordered the Cotoletta del Vitello and the veal was luke warm and the sauce far too salty. Others in our party expressed similar disappointment with their meals. Won't be back.
Great experience celebrating anniversary, where the star was really the food, great bruschettas to begin with, followed by a gnocchi with a delicius fresh tomato sauce (for her) and a tagliatelle with seafood (frutti di mare) for me... this was the best frutti di mare that I ever had because the pasta was boiled in the same water where the seafood was placed, and the broth out of it is the sauce of this amazing place, no tomato sauce in the middle of the seafood... delicious!!!!! Finally a panna cotta to settle thr night!!! I will come back for sure!!!
Came to this place for breakfast on my birthday. My husband and I had a Wonderful experience. It was just what I wanted. We ordered the breakfast buffet and EVERYTHING was hot , fresh and amazingly good. (Although I have had better pancakes- their was still good) Beautiful décor, kids are welcomed BUT , not kid friendly in my opinion. I would love to go back oneday and dine again. I really enjoyed it ! A great start to my Birthday !
