Trevi Ristorante Ratings and Reviews
Waiter had too many tables; he was pleasant but rushed. It took a bit of time to get water and drink orders. At 8 pm the lights were lowered so that I could not read the menu or see the food that was served. The food tasted fine but had no presentation.
I find most restaurants don't like a table to two - they seem to think (perhaps correctly) that they won't get a big check.
I made a reservation for 4, arrive 5 minutes prior to time, gave manager our name he asked if we wanted to be seated we said yes...1 hour later the party joining us still was not there...it turns out they were waiting at the front of the restaurant, asked for us, seems no one could remember that we were seated and our server knew we were waiting for another party....funny how all of our drinks were comped with no apology from management. Food was just ok, olive oil on table had strange taste.....guess we won't be going back anytime soon.
Very nice looking restaurant. Wait staff extremely poorly trained. It took between 15-20 minutes from the time we were seated before anyone even acknowledged we were there. Waiters were constantly walking past us, not making eye contact...nobody introducing themselves as our waiter. It took forever for someone to ask us if we wanted a drink then longer for bread and water (after we asked multiple times). There are plenty of support wait staff fluttering about but none of them are trained to do anything. The experience was extremely frustrating and became one of those dinners where all you talked about was the service. There are too many similar restaurants to waste your time at this one. Recommend you pass.
Three of us went to this establishment for dinner on Sunday. One of the best dishes we have had here in the past was the pork chop cooked in the wood burning oven. For some reason on this visit they decided to add a lot of heat to the dish. It was so spicy that it was almost inedible. My 98 year old father who had loved this dish in the past actually started choking. When we mentioned this to the waiter there was no reaction what so ever. We did enjoy the appetizers and my wife enjoyed her fish dish.
The food was excellent and top quality! We went during Hudson Valley Restaurant Week, and we were very satisfied with the tasty food options and service. The rice balls were incredible and the parmesan crusted code was delicious. The polenta fries and spicy dipping sauce, as well as the short rib bruschetta was unique and very pleasing. The skirt steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert they offered homemade zeppoli with Nutella and Caramel dipping sauce, Tiramisu and bread pudding. All were fabulous. The regular menu and the fixed price menu had a very nice variety of options. Some great old time Italian favorites with a twist. Portions were reasonable. The waiter also recommended an excellent bottle of wine. Would definitely go back to Trevi.
I have been going to Trevi for dates and with with friends, too for the past 6 months. Consistently I have found the service to be quite good..attentive, and when we want to take our time, are give some distance. This is special and I give them great praise for just that!
The food is very good as well. My appetizer though this time wasn't up to top standards, the octopus coating would have been tastier had it been crispy and less soggy. I enjoyed my see food risotto with a generous amount of shellfish. My date apparently was happy with his pasta as he brought the extra home.
The desserts were not all available, but the watermelon sorbet was very refreshing after the heavy meal on a hot steamy night.
I am definitely returning for more..
I thought the prix fixed lunch was excellent! My lemon sole was light, a perfect lunch-sized portion and my salad was crispy. My friend had salmon that looked yummy. We also enjoyed a delightful cappuccino and excellent service. Easy to park and get back onto the highway.
