Treva Ratings and Reviews
I made the reservation stating that it was my daughter's birthday. Unfortunately Treva did not acknowledge this. When I addressed it with the waitress she was apologetic and took her dessert off the bill. We went to a different restaurant last year for her birthday and the same thing Happened. I have dined at Treva numerous times and had higher expectations. I am disappointed that 2 years in a row we went to 2 nice restaurants and her birthday wasn't acknowledged.
Treva was a great spot to meet a friend and have some drinks and snacks. I can't say we had much of the menu, but what we did have was very good. The quail appetizer was excellent - very flavorful and perfectly cooked with sauce that had to be picked up with the very good bread. We also had charcuterie - 2 cheeses and 2 meats. Perfect for sitting and picking at while we talked and caught up with each other. Bar tender was excellent - made a great cocktail and also was very knowledgeable about the wines. Great spot.
I was so disappointed with our recent visit to Treva. I was hosting a business holiday lunch, and so my co-workers and I were in a festive mood. I had chosen Treva specifically because I knew that none of my colleagues had been there.
Unfortunately, we were met with a nasty, non-greeting by the host on duty. She was miserable and did not make us feel welcome at all. She acted as though we had interrupted her free time, and was angry about it. It was appalling. My colleagues commented on it, but I thought things might change by the time we left. They didn't--she did not lift her head to say goodbye, nor to thank us for our patronage, and my colleagues AGAIN commented on her inexplicable rudeness. Imagine my embarrassment, having recommended that we visit Treva for our long-scheduled holiday lunch! FYI, she was the host on duty for Friday, Dec. 15th at 12noon. We will not be back.
Table not ready at reservation time. Bar was nice as we waited but overall not worth the wait for dinner. Not bad but not exceptional. Food was good. Had 7:45 PM reservation but were not served dinner until 9:00. And we all agreed food was good but not worth the walk to get there and the long wait.
We love this place. Service is great, food is just superb and we'll continue to go there. For the first time, we waited for about 10 minutes after being seated before a server came over. When we told him no one had been over yet, he apologized & sent someone right over. They gave us a cheese & meat plate on the house for our troubles. That's how you get people to continue to visit. By treating them right.
The atmosphere was lively, which we enjoy. The hand crafted cocktails were unique and delicious. The meals started out with good bread, and the salads we ordered were nice and fresh. The food was authentic, fresh and delicious, and as described in the menu. Specials were also offered. Service was spectacular. Our waiter gave us just the right amount of attention. We never felt rushed, nor neglected, though it was quite busy. The portions were just right. Desserts were also great, and the prices were very reasonable for such unique food offerings. We will definitely go back.
I have had several wonderful meals, both dinner and lunch, at Treva. West Hartford Center is a great stopping off point when I am driving from family in NJ to friends in MA. I now live in Oregon, but was so happy to have a cozy meal with a very dear friend on my way to the holidays in RI. The pork chop was amazing, as were my friend's ravioli. I don't particularly like the upstairs dining area, since the seating is close to others and can be noisy.
We arrived for our 8:00 reservation on time but our table wasn't ready. We were happy to have a drink in the bar. After no one came to get us after a 45 minute wait we went to the hostess and was told that our table was still not ready and they couldn't give us an idea of when it would be. We were then told that we were welcome to have dinner at the bar. I wouldn't have made a dinner reservation if we wanted to dine at the bar. We left at 9 p.m. without having dinner.
We have been to Treva multiple time (dinner and happy hour). We have never had an issue with anything. I got the arctic char with the risotto. The risotto was the worst risotto that my wife and I have ever eaten. It had no resemblance to risotto (taste or texture). Everything else was good as always.
