Tres by Jose Andres @ SLS Hotel, a Luxury Collection Hotel

I love to support José Andres because of all his humanitarian work,so I booked dinner at Terra.
Lovely seating and atmosphere. Very polite server. Food was very good. Overall a lovely experience.

Hard to find because there are 2 restaurants at the same place. I first went into Bazaar next door and was told I had no reservation and was asked to leave by the host as they do not allow walk-ins. When I showed him the open table reservation he said “oh that is our other location, you are at the wrong restauarant”. I had to ask where was the other location, thinking it must be across town and I really messed up. Only then did he tell me that my reservation was for the other restaurant in the same building (about 50 feet away)! He could have been a lot nicer, by just asking at which restaurant was my reservation since I am sure this has happened before. I would give the host at Bazaar 0 stars if I could. My 5 star service review here is for the waiter at Tres, as he was very nice and attentive (and he confirmed that people mix up the two restaurants all the time). Don’t try to make the customers feel stupid for walking into the wrong restaurant when you have two next to each other and neither have obvious signage!

Outstanding brunch. The best in LA

The food was exquisite the service their exceptional I’ve been there two nights back to back if that says anything and will definitely be frequenting this place regularly.

Last time we were there we had a great waiter named Joe. He walked us through the menu and recommended selections he was fantastic! This waiter wanted us to order off the pre-selection was easier for him! When we said no then he told us we needed to order everything and he would send it out in the right order. I also told him of my severe allergy to sesame seeds. We told him we liked steak and he said that this particular type, 40 per ounce, was the best. Ended up being “ham” the mushroom soup had ton of sesame, he took it back and made another but with no pork, then he tells me there was sesame in the pork. I told him I would not have had it had I known that.
Up sold everything and had a could care less attitude. Will only go if Joe is our waiter!

They didn’t call me to tell me the reservation was not confirms, and I had drive 45 mins to get there. They didn’t feel sorry at all.

Food is nicely presented, and delectable. service is top notch. Parking is pricey though even with validation, I think its the price tag in a luxury hotel.

The server and the service TERRIBLE !

It is a LA style restaurant with outstanding food. Chef Jose has supported so many people that we had to make a small repayment to his generosity. Everyone should visit and enjoy his creations at Tres.

Yes but.... I expected something more from the guy who did Bazaar. Tres is more like dining in the lobby of a hotel, with high bar-type tables on one side and couches with too-low tables on the other, and people walking back and forth all the time. Not exactly romantic, for Valentine's Day. The waiter was nice but a bit too scarce. Still, the scallops were fantastic.

Very weird ambiance upon arrival, it was a Friday night and there were barely any other tables filled at the restaurant. The Dine LA menu was basically the exact same price as the courses priced individually. The only difference was that they give you a glass of cava. Pathetic.
I ordered the short rib with polenta which was tough and fatty, sitting on room temp. stiff polenta. The rest of the food was also very mediocre.
I notified the restaurant twice that we were celebrating a birthday - when I made the reservation and when we arrived yet they did absolutely nothing.
Desserts were just meh, full of gelatin and not tasty.
Overall we were extremely disappointed from the food, the atmosphere, the drinks and just overall experience. We were also rushed to pay and leave by the staff (we had the security guy come clear our dessert plates). Seriously, don't waste your time and money on this place.

Avoid for dinner!! Nothing was prepared correctly, everything was either overcooked or poorly seasoned. Maybe this place is good for brunch, but dinner was an overpriced abomination.

This was the best dinner experience of our lives. The gazpacho, croquetas, the the Iberco pork. The only true spanish food in LA. The most romantic experience. I would reccomend to anyone worthy of this level of class.

Our server was excellent. Wish I remembered his name. Very fun and friendly and super helpful and attentive.

I love this place! The food is really good and the service is impeccable. Really cool and very clean bathrooms too. All in all, I can't wait to get back here. Parking is expensive because it is in a hotel and you pretty much have to valet it and even with validation, it is expensive to park. This is my only complaint. Other than that, keep up the good work!

Attentive service greeted at the door and promptly seated next to a cozy fireplace. The server, John, was personable and attentive without hovering. The food exceeded my expectation.

We ordered numbers of dishes since all of them are small.
Smoked oysters and cotton candy are recommended.

Not a traditional brunch as explained to us — this is a European style brunch so no eggs, no pancakes , and no waffles were included. However, I went for the prime rib which was outstanding, in addition to the side horseradish and salsa verde. The cocktail shrimp, snow crab, smoked salmon, crispy shrimp, and oysters were excellent as well. Even the desserts were pretty much perfect. I enjoyed it very much as I knew what to expect. Although pricey at 62 dollars, I would do this once a year.

Very slow and almost non-existent service. Arrogant host- he is doing you a favor to seat you.

Tres is a fantastic venue for business meetings as well as social get togethers , with the fireplace ambiance, great menu and excellent service

We arrived at 3p for the Thanksgiving brunch which ran until 4pm to find a lackluster buffet.

There was one piece of crab, shrimp with no sauces, and soggy caviar with no crackers or blini.

The roast beef was gone even though there was one more hour left. The dim sum basket only had one dryed out piece.

The service was just as bad. After our server left for break, we had no one. The used plates were left in front of us, no one asked if we needed anything, while at the same time staff was wandering around adjusting forks and knives on empty tables.

The turkey and cranberry sauce was great

Really great food from an amazing chef. We went on a Monday for lunch so essentially had the place to ourselves, which was nice but surprising not to have more attentive service. We waited a lot and were primed to have some cocktails and a lot of food from one of our favorite chefs. Very cool atmosphere. We’re wondering why not more people for being as high quality as we thought. We’d go back, and would recommend to friends, but we would make sure to tell our server next time at the beginning to come back and visit our table often.

Afternoon tea playfully re-imagined - as with our first visit, both savory and sweet offerings were delicious (and beautifully presented), and the service was outstanding. We'll definitely be going back!

Had an excellent afternoon tea experience here. Great service and really good food. The twists on the traditional all work out fantastically and go perfectly with tea. An excellent afternoon!

The brunch menu was superb. There was an abundance of varieties available. Staff services are on point, friendly, and attentive. It was a great experience to brunch here.

Wife said that we could have had a better dinner at Denny’s... something was wrong here and the whole experience was disappointing. My son’s meal was horribly over cooked. My thinking is that the server left our food under the heat lamps too long. We spent an inordinate amount of time trying to get our waiter’s attention. The food comes from the neighboring Bazaar, so go there if you are thinking of dining at SLS. For the cost of this meal, this was a truly dismal experience.

Food was so terrible. I am sad to say. Spent $200 for two people without alcohol. I can cook better than this and I’m not a chef

I would recommend for lunch but the website wasn't entirely clear that though you click the reservation for tea that you are only allowed in a small 2 hour window at an inconvenient time. The lunch and service was otherwise excellent but I was sorely disappointed that I did not get to have afternoon tea as planned for my birthday.

Went early on a Wednesday. Was super quiet which was great for my occasion. Crowd started to roll in around 8:30. The food was great. The staff was great. I will be going again for sure. Ambiance is great too.

We went there for the brunch buffet only to be told it was no longer available to weeks ago. Maybe you should update your stupid website or let people know who have reservations that it's been changed. I took my wife there on the last day of her vacation because she loves brunch only to disappoint her

This was our fourth time at Tres and it was fantastic as always. We love the chill vibe and privacy of the sectioned off fireplace areas. The charcuterie and cheese platters are perfect starters and the cocktails are fantastic (albeit pricey). My husband had the Jidori Chicken, which was mouth-watering with those creamy potatoes. I had the crab cakes, which were paired with a crunchy, flavorful slaw. We also had the French fries and extra helpings of their tomato-topped bread. We finished off our meal with the dense Brownie dessert (the coffee ice cream was to die for-- the rest we could have passed on).

While Bazaar might be hipper and more lively, the food at Tres is still up to Jose Andres standard. It doesn't break the bank and the portions are mighty. Also-- Alex, our waiter was the BEST!

The carving station's roast beef/prime rib was too rare and chewy. The caviar station would have nice if it has some crackers to go with it.

One of the best brunch experiences in the greater Los Angeles area. It's a bit pricey ($65), but the dining experience is so good that it's worth it. Well worth it.

The service was aweful. They never came to pour the coffee. They came to take our plates without saying one word. We had to ask for the bill at the reception: nobody was coming to the table...
