Have been here many times and 3xpect to be back often. A go to spot
Food: very yummy. Service: excellent. Ambience: pleasant. Highly recommend.
Excellent food! We each ordered different kinds of salad (spinach, mixed greens, and endive-beet salads) as well as soup. Every one of us loved our salad. Our pasta entrees were also delicious and generous -- canneloni, capellini, spaghetti bolognese, seafood pesto. Two of us had to get to-go boxes. The desserts were the best! The chocolate mousse was the correct size -- not too much or too little -- just enough to top off the delicious dinner with something sweet. It had enough dark chocolate taste to show off that it was made with very good, dark chocolate. The ice cream (or spumoni in this case) was creamy and full of flavour.
The wait staff were attentive but discreet. We had plenty of time & space to talk and enjoy ourselves, but we also felt the presence of the staff because they checked on us periodically.
Wonderful restaurant -- we will definitely be back!
The food was very good, as usual. My only complaint was the service. It seems to always be slow. I think that is because there are not enough servers. But otherwise we really like this restaurant and will be returning.
Our party of 6 enjoyed everything we ordered; nice fresh delicious and attractive food in a French bistro-vibed setting
Service was outstanding. We barely took our seats and our server was there asking us for our drink order. We were upstairs so it wasn’t noisy at all. Food was delicious and had a homey feel to it. It was good but wouldn’t say that it was gourmet. Everything was yummy, but a few things took it down a notch. For example, the Parmesan they offered was the powdered like grated cheese you pour out of a can. If it was shaved off a brick of fresh parm it would have been nicer. The Caesar salad was a little heavy on the dressing, but it was good. Our lobster bisque, lamb ragout and lobster ravioli were really good. The delicious food and outstanding service made our Valentine’s dinner special and we’ll recommend it to our friends (we already have!). We’ll be back!
This place is just terrible for vegetarians. My wife and I went there for Valentine’s Day. They had a “special” menu on that day, and it had no vegetarian entree’s, like none. We had to leave the place and go next door to Black Pepper Asian Fusion Restaurant, which was far more hep and far more fun.
Sorry, but a strict “no” for vegetarians.
Bread for the table was delicious, really soft and flakey. Calimari was also nice, larger pieces than most other restaurants. Had the Salmon dish with sun dried tomatoes. It was perfect, fish was cooked perfectly and the tomatoes or orzo were tasty. Also got the veal cannolini, which my date and I both decided had a lot of mozzarella cheese, giving the dish a pizza vibe.
We are regulars at Trellis, love to come here for Birthdays and such , but also just for a nice evening out. Always friendly service and the food is fantastic . Great selection of wines by the glass , too, as well as a full bar .The pasta dish called Susma’s Downfall is my personal favorite!
Everything weve tried on the menu here is excellent. They have a very good variety of Italian dishes and it is all delicious and very nicely presented. The service is excellent and each area of the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We often come here on special occasions and Date Nights and will most definitely be back again..
Love the upstairs patio and the variety in the menu. The servers recognize and bring our cocktails, pronto! Reliable quality and freshness no matter the season. Favorite!
A variety of choices and everyone were pleased with their meals. My boyfriend is italian and he enjoyed the home style Italian cooking. The staff were very friendly and helpful, too!
My wife and I have always had great meals there, never an off night and the Caesar salad is best we've had anywhere in the world. Lately, I've started bringing larger groups there. With good weather, there is outdoor seating on a roof deck and a two private rooms that can be used, each with it's own adjacent bar. We had 14 in the upstairs private room and enjoyed the privacy and the seating was allowed all to partake in the dinner conversation. The seating in back of the restaurant near kitchen is less attractive but quiet and cozy. Fabulous food wins the day!
We were a party of 10 here for an early New Year's Eve meal. Table ready when we arrived. Outstanding service and excellent meal. All happy with their selection - 8 different entrees. Reasonably priced.
Outstanding Italian fare. Very under rated as to culinary skills and much better than better known Italian restaurants in the area.
Excellent food. We were trying Trellis for the first time on Christmas Day which is always a little scary but they had a reservation time available and we trusted the other reviews we read. Glad we did. Terrific swordfish and veal dishes . We have high standards for Italian food and weren’t disappointed. We will definitely be back!
A few of my friends and I get together for a very long (and alcoholic) lunch at Trellis every December holiday season. The food is wonderful; the staff is very attentive; the owner always makes a point of stopping by our table to greet us and ensure that we are happy.
Had an amazing dining experience at this restaurant from beginning to end. As my party was being taken back to our table, we noticed a plate of bruschetta that was being prepared for a large private party. We asked our server, Mila, if we could get an order of that and although it wasn't on the menu she graciously had an order made for us. The service throughout the meal was outstanding, all of the staff who stopped the table were very warm and welcoming, and the food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this to others and plan to return :)
Excellent food, attentive service, friendly manager.
Excellent Italian food. Our waiter was superb: knew what to recommend; knew when to bring it; didn't interfere. Perfect.
Always consistently good food. Love the lamb, linguini with clams and those amazing raviolis! Reasonably priced as well.
Because everything was 1 star. Food had no quality.
Food is consistently delicious and service great. A little on the pricey side but not out of reasonable range for the area.
A favorite place.
We loved Trellis. It's a beautiful restaurant on the outside and inside. They have several rooms for dining and an outdoor patio, but the front room was where we sat and it has a pretty view through the large glass windows. The room is quite nice for dining with an Italian feel to match the cuisine. We started with the spinach salad with grilled mushrooms, sliced cherry tomatoes and shaved, roasted nuts. It was delicious and the portions excellent. Then we have the shrimp appetizer and they give your a hearty portion of nicely grilled shrimp in an olive oil and lemon vinaigrette. We loved it. For entrees we had the fresh petrale sole fish served with orzo and mixed vegetables. And we had the grilled scallops. Both were excellent. For a side dish we had penne pasta with tomato meat sauce. They made a special half order for that. Overall, this is a fine restaurant in Menlo Park with great food and ambiance. Also the owner is very friendly and seems to thoroughly enjoy providing a great Italian meal! It's definitely a restaurant we want to try again.
Neighborhood gem. Celebrated out wedding anniversary and our daughter's sweet sixteen.
Always enjoy Trellis. Jose starts making our cocktails when he sees us walk in and Murat makes us feel right at home as our server. Kurt always stops by to say hello. Food is always well prepared. Try Susan's Downfall.
I had Susan's Downfall, very good. Very light rich cheesey sauce with the Ravioli. I throughly enjoyed the dish. I had warm zabiaone served over fresh fruit. It had just the right expected amount of Marsala wine flavor. Yum
We have been coming to Trellis for many years.
The food and the service are always good.
The owner Kirk always come to greet us and make us feel welcome.
All the staff are very friendly and helpful.
I highly recommend the restaurant for weekend dinning.
The menu is traditional Italian fare done very well. Some rich comfort dishes as well as some lighter options. The service was wonderful.
Wonderful and tasty food, big portions! Great ambiance :-)
The patio was delightful and all my guests were very impressed with the food, ambiance and service. I would recommend trellis highly
A return visit. Good as usual, never disappoints. Met several regulars
Nice "Al Fresco" dining experience on a nice summer day. Food and service was quite good. I had the Fettucini with prawns and Spumoni ice cream. I will try to come here again.
Food was okay, but the room where we were seated smelled very strongly of cigarettes.
We love this restaurant and eat here often. Wonderful menu choices, excellent food and very attentive service. I don't eat meat, and I have lots of options at Trellis that are delicious. They will adapt any dish. Yesterday I ordered pesto pasta with sundried tomatoes without the chicken. It was GREAT. And for dessert, I had creme brulee which was the best I had ever had.
I feel fortunate to have this wonderful restaurtant in our neighborhood.
Food and service excellent as usual. We love to come here for a treat or on special occasions.
The service was great but there were not many diners in the restaurant but the waitress was sweet and very kind. However, the dishes were average at best and the dessert tasted stale.
Chicken dish was tough and little flavor..pasta dish was outstanding. Service was excellent.
