Had a WONDERFUL experience at Trellis. The food, cocktails, service and the ambiance were fantastic. The patio is where to be for lunch or dinner! We will be back very soon.

We ate on the rooftop patio. The food was excellent (though the salads were overdressed for my taste); the pasta seemed fresh and tender. The service was excellent... the pacing was just right. I never felt rushed.

Great service and food in a very welcoming atmosphere hosted by great staff. They do what everything you need done to have a nice experience.

Most delicious food. Chicken scallopini with the best polenta and homemade bread. Great ambiance on the roof patio outdoors with heaters. Best zabaglione I’ve ever had!! You must try it!

This was our first time dining out at a restaurant in almost a 8 months - we went out for a birthday celebration. It was our first time at Trellis, but certainly not our last.

The outdoor patio was very nice and had a level of seclusion that we appreciated (they also did a good job with their "social distancing" efforts). Nice ambiance and was conducive to having conversations.

I don't recall our servers' names but the service was efficient and friendly. They also accommodated the fact we brought in our own birthday cake and performed the requisite candle lighting and singing of happy birthday. The owner (I assume) paid us a visit - nice guy.

Food was outstanding. Loved the turnip soup and the duck with roasted polenta was fantastic, will probably get that the next time I go. My wife who is Italian loved the chicken parm (as did I), it was not too heavy and with great flavors. Other dishes that we ordered were also prepared with a lot of care.

Will return!

The service here is always awesome, the rooftop is an incredible and unique find for the area. It is warm, cozy, and feels very safe for social distance. I would definitely recommend and look forward to coming back.

Trellis offers delightful rooftop patio dining in the middle of downtown Menlo Park. It's high enough to block the normal El Camino traffic noise and far enough away to minimize the CalTrain noise at the nearby station. While it's in an urban area views of the sun setting over the western Santa Cruz Mountains are often dramatic.
As for the food, the menu is consistent from year to year and consistently good every time we've gone. My wife boasts of being a member of Finicky Eaters Anonymous but always finds items on this menu that she truly enjoys. An appetizer that we've ordered many times is fried calamari with lemon aioli - something that seems like it would be boring but that never is. Big chunks of fresh, tender calamari with a crispy crust - just the thing to go with a beer or cocktail. My wife has ordered the warm spinach salad with sauteed mushrooms & pancetta. Even though she usually doesn't like mushrooms, this salad somehow works for her. For me it's the roasted beets & orange segments over endive that I go for if I'm eating light. And if I'm not, it's the saffron risotto with mixed seafood that satisfies long after the last fork full. We don't usually have dessert but have made an exception for their Tiramisu after they served a free slice at a birthday celebration. If we have any room left at all, we share this slice of heaven that is made special with a drizzle of Amaretto and (I think) a shot of fresh espresso. Wine list covers 2 pages of mostly Italian and California wines, all carefully selected to please at whatever price point you can afford. The Chianti Classico satisfies but the two times we splurged on Brunellos we were not disappointed. Would we go back? You bet we will.

Go there. You will not regret it. I have spoken. Period.

I treated two of my cousins to lunch. A very rare occasion that any of us eat out. Everything was near to perfect.
I had the lunch special of swordfish, one cousin had a chicken sandwich and the other had a shrimp salad. All were served in large portions and very tasty.
Will certainly go back if ever I am down that way. I strongly recommend.

We have been coming for 15 years and are never disappointed.

This was my second visit and this is a great place. The rooftop patio has safe distancing and yet this is a fine dining experience with great waiters, a full menu, delicious homemade bread and very pleasant ambiance. My clams for a first course were delicious and in a tasty Provencal sauce. This was a huge portion. My apple- goat cheese salad was so good on my first visit I ordered it again. There's so many choices of main courses it is hard to decide what to order. I highly recommend Trellis.

Birthday celebration.

We particularly like the outdoor, rooftop ambience. Servers were timely, attentive and courteous. I had fresh pan-fried filet of sole with a tasty sauce with capers. Vegetables were nicely seasoned; the brussel sprouts were not bitter. I normally don't care for them but these were good. We've never been disappointed here, although I prefer the rooftop to indoor dining.

We love Trellis and recently celebrated our anniversary there. Upon arrival we were greeted warmly as always and seated in their lovely patio upstairs.
The host and our waiter were very nice and made us feel so happy to have chosen to eat there.
We started out with the clams and they were terrific in a delicious broth with bread to dip. I ordered the fettuccini with jumbo prawns and jumbo scallops and it was really good. My husband had the lamb chops which he loved.
For dessert had the spumoni that was justice right after my big meal. Also want to mention the delicious dirty martinis that I thoroughly enjoyed. Love this place and can I wait to return.

I felt safe dining on the Terrace as the tables are spaced wide apart. Great menu and service.

Loved this restaurant. First time there for 4 of us and we stayed almost three hours. The patio was so nice and a full menu was appreciated. Delicious food, and I know the staff is happy to have had us there during time of COVID. Tables were spaced very far apart. Loved their homemade bread and my veal scaloppini, calamari appetizer with great texture and style, fabulous goat cheese/apple salad. Others had beef burgundy and petrel sole, all expertly prepared. I really want to return soon and may just order the exact same thing.

This is our go-to restaurant. We invited our friends and terrace dining was superb. Food is delicious there.

We ventured out to a restaurant to celebrate a special occasion during Covid. We've been pretty much eating at home until now. This was a fantastic destination for Covid-safe dining. There is a large, attractive rooftop patio, which existed prior to the pandemic. The menu is excellent, wait staff are very attentive and professional. The food was great, and we really enjoyed a safe evening, dining outdoors to celebrate our daughter's birthday. Susan's Downfall is not to be missed! We will definitely be back.

I felt that they did a very good job adhering to the Covid safety guidelines. The rooftop patio dining was quite relaxing, with excellent service. The food was very good as usual. It was almost a pre-Covid dining experience, except for the masks and social distancing. Highly recommended for a dine out experience.

the menu items are hit or miss though. so-so carpaccio and veal parmesan. excellent vegetables. very good jumbo shrimp. decent wine selection at a variety of prices. $20 corkage.

Rooftop dining is a relaxed pleasure.

My husband took me to Trellis for my birthday. We both enjoyed our delicious dinners
and my dirty martini was perfect. We were so happy to be able to eat outside
on the patio upstairs. Also want to mention that the servers are top notch. Can’t wait to return.
