The experience was great. Food was delicious and wine was perfect. We really enjoyed ourselves. The waiter was great but, if I dare to say, a little too loud and wordy. If he was talking to the table next to us we couldn’t hear ourselves talk. And he continually asked questions and made comments. I really liked him so I’m not being rude but maybe let us have a conversation together. We enjoyed him but would’ve been happy with a little less attention
This was our second time for dinner, the first visit was great. We loved it. This time unfortunately on Valentine’s Day was not good. The restaurant wasnt even half full and service was slow. To start a couple ladies came in with a loud screaming child, and later we noticed they had a purse dog with them in the dinning room! Dogs are not allowed in restaurants and I spoke to the server and nothing was said to them or done about it! I ordered the confit lamb, the presentation was not good, it had fallen apart probably because it was dry. As I ate it I found I had the animals stamp from the farm also on a large part of my meat. I questioned the server and the cook about the brightly coloured teal ink on my lamb. It was passed off as normal like I should just eat it... would you eat a tattoo?? The Brussels sprouts were underdone and hard as well. It’s disappointing when you drop $300 on a meal for a special evening at a nice restaurant and this happens.
All the kitchen staff appeared new since the last time we were here; and looks like their old chef Matt is no longer there which is too bad. The food was not as good as before. I got the striploin steak off their new winter 2019 menu but it was tough and definitely not worth $46. Salad and dessert were good.
We were early for our reservation, but welcomed in and seated in a comfortable, quiet table. The host and server were both terrific and the food and wine all delicious. Thank you - we will be back!
Amazing food as always and a fantastic wine selection... we come here every two months or so... and never disappointed.
Dinner with daughter home for weekend from university , she’s vegetarian so it was exceptional
That she had her own menu to choose from, food was excellent , desert and cheese tray fantastic , somolier was very knowledgeable and paired out foods well , our second time here , nice that we are so close to such a gem !
Always amazing - best restaurant in Ontario!
We’ve dined at Treadwell’s before and have always left pleased. The service was excellent and all the staff were friendly. The food was well plated and delicious. We will definitely return and would recommend this test to anyone staying in the Niagara region.
We always love coming back for lunch or dinner at Treadwell for 3 reasons. 1. The food is fresh and delicious, 2. It's a cozy and clean place, 3. Service- the people are all so friendly and are their to please and make sure that all is well. Now for our meal Our favourite app are the mussels in a white cream sauce. It's to die for. For our main, I love the Lobster sandwich. This time my wife ordered the same but on a gluten free bread. I had mine with the soup of the day and she had hers with a salad. The wine list in this place is vast. I ordered a glass of Pearl Morrisette white to go with my meal. Now for dessert we had a creme brûlée with a blackberry compote topping, it was awesome! Thank you Sarah for impeccable service with a smile and thank you James-the sommelier- for explaining the wine, and above all thank you James T. for the dessert and as always the wonderful service you and your team at the restaurant provide to all your customers.
We think this is one of the best restaurants in the area. I love the lobster club on duck fat fried bread. It's rich but worth it. My wife always has 2 appetizers. This time it was the daily soup and the beet salad. We plan to dine here again on our next visit to the area.
Treadwell is always a spot we enjoy when my sweetheart and I come to NOTL to visit the family. This time I had brought my two best gals to enjoy, and our dinner did not disappoint. The wine program is excellent and we had a great bottle of white recommended to us to start the meal, and then had a lovely glass of red reminded to us to enjoy the meal - both wines were terrific and new to us. We ordered the app and main specials and they were even better than described, and came to the table looking beautiful. Service was attentive and engaging, and the chef was kind enough to oblige our request to come over and chat (so we could thank him personally and compliment his talented team). Rounded out the meal with desserts and while my girlfriends enjoyed their Creme brûlée with berries and blondie tart respectively, my sticky toffee pudding was the hands down favourite. Not only did we love the experience, my one friend who has a gluten allergy found the restaurant inclusive (BETTER and BEYOND ‘accommodating’) of her dietary challenges (worthy to note that I’ve also had similar comments from my vegetarian friends about their inclusiveness). Love it there and always excited to return.
The warm sunchoke and wild mushroom salad with goat cheese is outstanding. A foodie experience not to be missed.
Great experience, fantastic food and service. Definitely will return.
Miguel was an awesome server - very attentive and accommodating to my dairy intolerance. The food is incredible. We will be back.
It is one of my favourite places to bring guests when I visit NOTL. it has NEVER disappointed!
Great food, the server was nice...when he was around
Fantastic farm to table cuisine! One of my favourite restaurants in the world
New Years Tasting Menu
Great experience, delicious farm to table.
Overall a superb New Year’ s Eve and Birthday at Treadwell! Thank you, again.
We had a wonderful evening with superb food and attentive service. It was definitely a New Year's Eve to remember.
Great food and wine list
Outstanding food and service. A little loud back by the kitchen but not too bad.
Won’t return. We have dined here several times in the past while on vacation in NoTL. This experience was horrible. Husband and I ordered the scallops app.which had to be returned because they smelled of ammonia. The servers response.. “that’s weird “, which told me that she wasn’t aware that seafood when gone bad and cooked smells of ammonia. I reordered a agnolotti pasta dish which was luke warm at best. The parsnips soup for husband was Luke warm as well. This set the pace for the rest of the dinner. We both ordered the duo of pork and when they came out they were both extremely dry and not warm. The sage stuffing side was hard, dry, cold. No sauce to be had. One daughter’s dinner of risotto was hard and crunchy. The saving grace was our bottle of merlot. We expressed our disappointment. Our server asked if the chef could remake them but at 9:30 p.m. and tired table mates that was not a consideration. Our disappointment with our meals resulted in a complimentary trio of desserts... no meals were taken off the bill. Your expansion has resulted in poor food quality.
as usual the food was fabulous. This is my go to restaurant in NOTL.
A fantastic dining experience! Absolutely delicious food with great service. Portion sizes were good. My only concern was the fact that the tables were very close to each other making private conversation difficult.
Amazing chef, the food was outstanding. The best!!
Always great food at Treadwell. That mushroom chèvre
Salad was on point.
We went for dinner on Boxing Day. It was fantastic. Food, service and friendly atmosphere was beyond our expectations. It was a perfect Christmas outing. Highly recommend Treadwells to anyone wanting a perfect evening
We always enjoy Treadwells, from our very first impromptu visit (in full biking gear) to his original Port Dalhousie location over 5 years ago, until now, the food and service has always been consistent and excellent
Fantastic time. Food was awesome, lovely, deep wine list. Thanks for a wonderful birthday dinner.
Taste at the counter. The food was some of the best we ever had. Dreaming about our next visit,
Treadwell never disappoints us. We're generally there during the summer months and sit on the patio but this fall visit led to an inside table. The food is always outstanding. Our friends (definite 'foodies') who joined us for their first visit there agreed.
The service was wonderful. From the greeter, to the sommelier, to the wonderful server, Sarah, all were friendly, knowledgable, and certainly made our experience there enjoyable.
So glad we chose Treadwell to celebrate my wife's birthday.
I brought my daughter here for her 28th birthday. She loves good food and great restaurants and she was delighted with everything.
Fantastic appetizer (mushroom and sunchoke), main courses, and chocolate and blackberry dessert. It's so obvious when quality ingredients are used and the food is prepared with love. And considering the high quality, they've done an excellent job with pricing menu items fairly. Our server met our sense of humour and avoided going overboard. We appreciated the calm environment that came with getting an early seating (6 pm). We are eager to return for another meal!
Treadwell exceeded our expectations. Lovely service and superb menu. Food was excellent.
Service and facility were very good. Wife ordered vegetarian dish that was awful. I ordered the steak special ($53.00) that was cold and a very small portion. Wine prices were ridiculous.
We were looking forward to dining here. The experience was fine, but just fine. There were three of us dining at lunch. We all ordered the mushroom soup as a starter. It lacked seasoning. My mother had to flag down the server to ask for pepper. The server brought it to her but then promptly turned on her heel away from the table before asking either my sister and I if we would like some as well. My sister had to flag her down again to bring it back, and then she turned away again without offering it to me. We originally asked for still water but throughout service we were switched to sparkling. We didn’t say anything because it wasn’t a fuss. I ordered the mackerel. The poached egg on top was hard boiled. My mother’s steak was cold. I had to flag down the server twice to ask her to top up wines. If any of these things were isolated then we would not be fussed over it. Cumulatively, unfortunately we most likely will not return.
This was y third time here in the last 6 months, by far the best restaurant and food quality in the region. Noise level allowed for good conversation.
All local food but has its own features. Food was cooked just exactly right. We also like their creativeness. Even the dessert menu surprised us. I am not a big fan of sweets. But, tried their toffee cake, amazing taste! Will definitely come back again.
