Treadwell Farm-to-Table Cuisine- Niagara on the lake
Treadwell is a hidden gem - staff food ambiance - highest quality
Travel almost 4 hrs for lunch to sit at the counter 🙃
Fantastic food and brillian wine pairings...I would Highly Recommend this great spot in downtown Niagara on the Lake.
One of our favorite stops at NOTL. Never ceases to amaze. Menu changes with new, delicious selections. Service is outstanding. Recommend to sit at the kitchen bar to watch the chefs prep and plate. Such a great experience!
The food was amazing. Wait times between appetizer and main was a bit high. Good cocktails. The wines are way overpriced.
My wife and I had a really nice lunch. Food was great and so was the service. I recommend
Wonderful attentive service with an understanding about dietary restrictions and the meals were outstanding. We enjoyed the lobster sandwich, fish cakes, lamb and salmon dishes plus the butternut squash soup and fries to share. Each one had a unique flavour and were beautifully presented. 5 star all round.
This restaurant came well recommended, but they must have been having an off-night. The venison was way undercooked, and both of us left underwhelmed with the food and atmosphere.
Sat and the kitchen bar. Interesting watching the chefs work. Good recommendations. Well looked after. Food excellent. Big portions. Will definitely be back.
Service was great, food was just awesome. I had the special, bacon wrapped venison on top of purple cabbage, mashed potato, with a red wine reduction - OMG! My partner had the beef cheeks, with broccoli etc., - Oh, we shared! And we both loved the other's dish. The staff was great. They were personable and attentive. Nice atmosphere and an overall wonderful dinner.
Waiter was more interested in serving and talking with regular customers at the bar.
New menu. Not a lot of choices
Absolutely incredible food! Probably the best meal we've had in years. A great feature to be able to read about where the food came from. Excellent service and really nice ambiance for a special occasion.
Beautiful food. Farm to table elegance. Chef adapted beautifully to dietary restrictions.
Beet salad was very tasty. Scallops received rave reviews. Lamb was delicious . Pickerel and duck breast good .
Wonderful creme brûlée with ginger snaps . Only disappointed the bakery did not have them on Saturday
Service was outstanding and appreciate the fact you list your farm to table suppliers
Went for Sunday lunch. The food was delicious and service was great!
Once again it was a wonderful experience. James truly oversees a first class establishment. It was also so wonderful in seeing Bill, an unbelievable sommelier, wor
king at Treadwells. Manuel was our waiter and he was totally on point. The food exceeded our expectations.
Every single thing was delicious- but the butternut squash soup was the best I have ever tasted.
Amazing atmosphere, food tasting for NYE was great. Service was prompt professional and even had a sommelier come and speak to us when we ordered our wine. Overall great experience from beginning to end!
As always, Treadwell did a great job for our group of 6. Our table assignment was off, but otherwise we were very pleased with the experience. Next time, we will remember to specify a table above ground.
Great lunch before new year's!!
While the menus promises a vegan selection there is not much selection with only one (quite strange and unappetizing sounding) main course available - “sunflower seed fricassee” which was described as a risotto but with sunflower seeds instead of rice. Coming with a vegan friend who didn’t want the main led to a bit of disappointment but the kitchen made a more generous salad to act in place of a main.
The meat courses were delicious and very generous.
In any event if looking for a vegan meal I would likely recommend elsewhere although the pickings are slim in Niagara.
I have been enjoying cuisine at Treadwell's for over a decade. I have never been disappointed. Our last outing there was over the top! How Stephen and his culinary staff continue to outdo themselves amazes me. We love sitting at the bar to watch the chefs prepare the meals and to to kibbitz with them. My partner's Asian pickeral was absolutely stunning. Having been raised in Southwestern Ontario, she is a pickeral aficionado. She felt that her meal was the best rendition of the fish she had ever had.
I felt the same about the lovely spicy pork chop. It was cunningly served in layers around the bone.
Add to this a bottle of Big Head's stunning Chenin Blanc, very reasonably priced at $64, our meal was made in heaven.
And I haven't mentioned our apps which were also non pareil.
Great food and atmosphere but took 90 minutes to get our main dish. 20 minutes sitting at the bar waiting for the table and then "kitchen backed up".
Nice ambiance in this restaurant. However, we waited over an hour for our entrees after drinks and a starter salad for one. When the steak entree arrived, it was very rare even though my husband had ordered medium. He had also asked to substitute French fries for potatoes which they did not. Also, the steak was listed on menu as a strip steak, however the cut he received was more like a medallion of beef. The waiter was polite and rest of staff congenial but the hour delay for the steak entree and the mixup on the dish made this for a less than great dining experience.
Highly recommend! Love this restaurant..been often! Great food, great cocktails and wine and excellent service!
This is a MUST DO when in Niagara on the Lake! Beautiful restaurant, amazing food and attentive service. What more could you need?!? Also loved the vegetarian menu options.....the beet salad is not to be missed!
Not too populated on Christmas Eve, eve. Service though slow to torpid.
First course fish cake innovative and delicious. Second confit of duck much toooooo dry.
Preprandial martini fine but they need to cater for traditional grey haired taste, get in some simple, dry martini. Interesting wine from BC
Service: when the fish cake arrived this patron decided a glass of white wine was called for. The waiter went for the wine but was soooooo long when he arrived back the fish cake had been devoured. No sale.
Not quite sure what was keeping our server busy.
Finally there a smart casual dress code. The guy beside us was in jeans and someone came in dressed like a hunter of .......rats. Best not to do a dress code if you’re not going to enforce it.
All items are fresh and almost on top notch ingredients.
We are sophisticated diners and this was the best experience of the Season. Wonderful menu which gave us a good selection of the freshest seafood, meat, vegetables and pasta. Extraordinary scallops and pork belly, mushroom gnocchi, halibut and lamb all paired with magnificent hard to access special wines. Thank you team.
I would recommend it for apps and drinks. The main dishes were super disappointing due to the copious amount of salt they were cooked in. Despite loving salt on all of our dishes these dishes contained so much salt we could not finish them.
Spectacular food, interesting and well-curated wine list with a very good Somm, and professional, warm service from a flawless team. All of this is delivered in one of the prettiest towns in Canada. Perfect.
A little pricey -menu selection didn’t deliver enough options-staff was excellent!
Food was delicious and fresh. Our server was friendly and attentive. The wine list is impressive and will not disappoint; including an extensive offering of local wines. The duck leg confit was particularly delicious.
Great food and service
Cuisine was creative, fresh and beautifully plated. Service was exceptional and the help of the sommelier in choosing a wine was much appreciated.
After hearing great things about Treadwells we had high expectations. We ordered the gnocchi, halibut and lamb confit. From the beginning our server was impatient with us. The gnocchi was fantastic but when we received the mains, the lamb was too salty and the halibut had no flavour and was over cooked. These dishes are each $44. Since the waitress was already unfriendly we felt bad returning both mains so only complained about the lamb which was simply inedible. She was even ruder and answer with a so what do you want to do about it? We asked to switch to a different dish to which she responded all the dishes will take a long time so we ordered the scallop appetizer. After that the service simply stopped. She didn't follow up, we had to ask another server for our bill and there was no refilling the water.
Very disappointing dinner.
Our anniversary was made special by the amazing staff. We had a lovely window seat and were greeted with some Prosecco! Tara was outstanding and the food divine. The appetizers were delicious. Scallops and soup of the day... we shared and couldn’t tell what we enjoyed more! I had duck, my hubby the braised beef. Both were excellent. So, we will be back and very much appreciated the experience. ❤️
Outstanding server. Food was amazing particularly the squash soup. Wine was excellent! A lovely Creekside iconoclast and a Burrowing Owl Cabernet.
Particularly amazing for my 88 year old mother who felt thoroughly doted on by the staff.
Wonderful restaurant! Food extremely tasteful. Generous portions and staff very attentive. Will definitely return
