Diners at Tre Otto in New York, NY will find a casual but sophisticated space serving authentic and inspired Italian food. The emphasis is on quality, and though meals are served at lunch and dinner, there is a single all day menu.
The Tre Otto menu features many familiar, Italian favorites, but each will be prepared with the sort of attention to detail typically reserved for homemade dishes. Choices include antipasti such as crispy calamari or bruschetta. There is also the Sicilian arancini as well as caponata. Classic salads, panini and larger entres round out the options. Choose pasta dishes or even go with one of the impressive pizzas that are but one of many dishes to love at Tre Otto.
We weren't familiar with the restaurant but happened on it while visiting Mt Sinai. It was perfect -- service was attentive and not overbearing and we were not rushed in the least. All the food was great and the ricotta and spinach ravioli was superb.
Very good food. Add more creative veggie options to menu and replace the carb-heavy menu. By 6:45 it becomes way to noisy for normal conversation without yelling over the table. Can't you do something with the decor to absorb the sound?
I was excited to find this place however was disappointed due to the poor service (we had to get up out of our seats to ask for attention at one point) and just tasteless food. What its good for is that you can get a reservation last minute and its comfortable.
I wouldn't go here looking for anything special- if you're looking for a place to have some drinks with friends in the neighborhood then this is it.
We find quality at every level has slipped quite a bit.
Above and beyond your typical NYC italian restaurant
Nice hh options
And great atmosphere for the space!
Nice surprise, great Caesar salad and pizza, good service
awesome! Here for dinner meeting after the Mount SInai Symposium. This is our favorite spot to attend.
Kale salad was yummy. Wood oven pizza yummy. Steak was a relatively small portion and very good but not the very best steak around.
Enjoyed my dinner but had to leave so did not get to try dessert
Atmosphere is really nice but didn't enjoy the food. Unfortunately this is the second time that both my husband and I had pasta that we couldn't eat. The appetizers and salads were fine.
Good for lunch. Dreadfully noisy at night. Very low lighting.
Tre Otto is a neighborhood gem in a neighborhood that does not have a large selection of restaurants. We went there before attending an event at the Museum of the City of New York. It was a good find!
We 4 friends needed a restaurant on the upper east near Museo del Barrio. We weren't expecting much and found, to our surprise, that the food was excellent, the ambiance a treat, and the service beyond excellent. We went very early (5:30) so not a real noise test, but it was quiet and we were all able to hear one another. I recommend highly; the Branzino was better than at much pricier and fancier restaurants!
food was good- but served cold - not freshly cooked. Service was very helpful, even tho we sent stuff back - they got us out on schedule. If was VERY noisy and too dark to read menu I will try it again at a later date.
Really, the whole package. I'm often apprehensive ordering pasta, but this was perfectly cooked and the sauce was prefect to match. My GF ordered the chicken - amazing. Just, all around, great food, great drink, great ambiance, moderately priced.
With Mt. Sinai Hospital now taking up blocks and blocks between 5th Avenue and Madison Ave and 98th Street up to 102nd Street, there are not a lot of restaurants to choose from. Thank goodness for Tre Otto! Service was friendly and attentive. Noise level was moderate until it started to fill up (we had an elder with us so it was good we went early: 6pm). Food was outstanding! Enjoy!
Was meeting people on UES and they suggested Tre Otto. So glad they did! Nice Happy Hour and great food. The service was perfect and the staff were all attentive without being overbearing. Nice moderately priced wine and beer selection as well. Will definitely be back!
I miss the old menu but it was pretty good. Our neighborhood place. Nice, warm and cozy, good food.
The restaurant has a nice atmosphere. We came at 6pm, they insisted on giving us a really small table for two people. By the time we left, very few tables were taken. The Pizza was unacceptable for something that wants to be an Italian restaurant, the rest was nothing to write home about.
Exquisite fare as in heavenly dinning. My favorite dish is the Branzino.
Very good wine list and excellent service. The staff makes you feel special without interfering in your dinning experience. A very relaxed atmosphere surrounded by chic dinners of varied ages.
The new chef--so we learned--in my opinion, has brought 5 star dinning and white glove service to Upper Carnegie Hill.
Food is so-so Italian especially for such high price for lunch. Unfortunately they don't perhaps feel that they have to improve because there are not many restaurant options in that part of the city..
But I miss my old favorites - the lasagna and caponata were worth walking miles for in your bare feet
How can a neighborhood spot not have linguine with clams.
Absolutely love going to Tre Otto. Took my girlfriend for Valentine's Day and had an amazing time. I will continue to enjoy meals here for a long time.
We have been there twice in Friday evenings, they cared for us quiet well. Food was even better, we've tried pastas, fish and the steak that where delicious. We sat in the red leather banquet side of the dinning room, comfortable and club like. The bar area also had a really inviting dining set up, I think we will sit there next time.
Nice selection of dishes, including great options for vegetarians; warm cozy dining room with friendly service and good cooking
We selected this place initially because it was close to the hospital. We were glad we did. The menu favors appetisers, pizza and pasta but there were a few entrees too. The food was very competently prepared. The atmosphere was pleasant. We never felt rushed. It was an enjoyable respite from the hospital. Glad we found it.
Met 2 friends and lingered on a Tue night. All enjoyed the pastas, had a lovely waitress. Would go back again.
This is a wonderful Italian restaurant. They make their own bread (which is amazing) and the food is incredible. Everyone was so friendly.
While the food was spectacular, the service was painfully slow. The front of room staff was very welcoming. I realize this will make me appear to be a colossal brat, I did not like the table we were given. I have come to expect a nicer table or booth when booking via OpenTable.
We lve near restaurant and go often for lnch and some dinners. Friendly staff
Very good homemade pasta. Kind of smallish table. A little bit noisy.Handy when visiting at Mount Sinai Hospital. Good neighborhood place.
Tre Otto was superb. We are so happy that they were able to reopen after the fire a couple of years ago. The homemade pasta is really great. The prices are well below the average Northern Italian NYC restaurant, and the food far superior.
Tre Otto was perfect for our large group of 8. It's usually hard to find a space for that many people, but the restaurant is much larger than you would think. Everyone loved their food and the freshness, and always talk about going back. Die-hard Italian cuisine lovers would really enjoy this neighborhood gem.
This restaurant is where the old Hanratty's used to be. It's got the whole wine-rack-and-exposed-brick thing going for it. Wonderful small pizza. My companion had the octopus. We were both very happy. We had a good, chatty lunch and no one tried to move us out quickly. Good service.
Excellent food, also some very nice gf pasta options. Rec grilled calamari, chicken breast, halibut. Service is friendly. Never rushed.
This is my first visit to Tre Otto's "new" location and I love it. Celebrated a "big" birthday a few years ago at the old place. The food is great and very authentic. I was raised on good home cooked Italian food. The space is cosy but with character. Love the floor and ceiling. The only downside to our night there was an over eager server. She was very young and had a difficult time pronouncing the Italian fare. Seemed very out of place in a setting with such delicious food and classic surroundings.
Nice ambiance, although a bit cavernous. Quick service and helpful staff. Traditional Italian fare done well. Grilled Octopus was tender and delicious. Fish also perfectly cooked.
A great little find, nice ambience and food was delicious. Waiter was very friendly.
We were attending a performance at El Museo del Barrio! TreOtto was the perfect place to dine before the show! The pasta was home made and amazing! Everything was fresh and well presented. Friendly and well skilled staff! Great find.
The food was good. The pizza needed to be more done. The pasta and salad portions were too small.
