DELICIOUS!!! From the truffle fries to the generous portion of redfish to the flourless chocolate dessert, it was amazing!!!
Food was fresh, with great flavor. We sat outside, however it overlooks the pool with Lake Travis waters beyond and not quite next to the water experience.

We enjoyed celebrating our 43rd Anniversary at TR overlooking Lake Travis. The service was excellent especially with the special attention from James (the maitre d?). Food was excellent- very fresh and tasty! Pretty good wine list and good atmosphere for relaxing with a glass of wine at end of day. Breakfast buffet is great and the restaurant is excellent for families. We recommend highly.
I was disappointed. As the only restaurant for a resort which advertises itself as 'luxury' resort it was mediocre at best. The food selection was lacking and mundane. The building and furnishings were in need of an update. There was no ambiance whatsoever. Anyone looking for menu items suitable for a special diet (vegan/GF/organic) will have a difficult time. I would not recommend this restaurant nor will I be returning again.
This hotel is attached to the Lakeway Resport and Spa. It is unmarked and parking is a bit off site as you share with hotel guests. The decor is older. It was never crowded the two nights we were there - about 1/4 full. The views are pretty nice, but it is right above the kid pool so you get to listen to them. We ordered the filet and it was to die for! VERY GOOD!
Overall experience was nice, but the food was not to my liking.

The food was okay, did not wow us. But the service was great. Very friendly waitress took a great care of us. Wish there was vegetable option for kids menu besides fruits.
The food was awesome for Valentine's Day. We get married here 8 months from today! Can't wait!
Good place for breakfast .. Everyone in the family including the kids enjoyed the spread.
Overall it was an OK experience. We had early reservations for Christmas Eve and we were literally the only people there for a good 45 mins. We decided to have a drink at the bar before dining. Bar service was not good, but dining service was fine. I did have to send back sea bass (which I never do). It was the server' recommendation, but was not fresh at all. Bursts appetizer was great
My husband and I were staying at the hotel celebrating our anniversary. We were extremely disappointed with the food. Ribs were extremely dry. The filet mignon tasted like it had been heated in a microwave. The restaurant and hotel are situated in a beautiful setting. We made reservations for the restaurant, but they requested that we sit in the bar. Normally, it would not be a big deal, but it would have been nice to sit in the restaurant with the view. We made the decision not to eat at the restaurant for the rest of the weekend, because of how poor the food was.
We all ordered steaks - two medium rare and one medium well. All steaks came out well done. The seasoning was spot on but not cooked right. Two of the steaks were thin and the other was more of a typical filet mignon cut. The shrimp lettuce wraps and sautéed cremini mushrooms were very good. Red wine not chilled - served at room temp. Wine list could be better. Service nothing to write home about. Easy to get table on patio with a view. Convenient since we were staying at resort.
View is amazing, staff is very friendly. Interior is dated, service is slow and food is terrible. They should revise the menu to burgers, salad and bar food, and only offer and serve what they can deliver. 6 of our 7 meals were terrible and should not have left the kitchen. Very disappointing and costly.
Pricey menu with dry ribs and only 4 for a half rack( must have been a small chest.)

I thought I was going to a "Steakhouse," but it was the hotel's restaurant. Menu was varied enough to be interesting, and the service was good. However, I had to ask for a wine list, and when I had made my choice was informed that they were out. Three more choices - out of them. It was explained to me that they were switching over the wine menu and had used up the inventory. A little frustrating that that wasn't disclosed up front, and put a damper on the meal. Overall, though, the food was good - I just wouldn't make it my first choice again.
Lots of loud kids running around. Steak was tough and salad was missing 2. Out of 4 ingredients. Atmosphere is dated. Never going back.

If there is a Valentine's Day, Anniversary Day, birthday, or any special time to celebrate, the atmosphere at Lakeway offers any and all opportunities. The food was good and the view of the lake provides a back drop for romance. I have already recommended this restaurant and the resort to friends and family
There was nothing to complain about, but nothing really great. The food was average, although the bread was over baked. The server was polite and attentive, but they seemed to be understaffed. Table cloths and salad forks would have been nice. The light was out by our table, so it was dark and difficult to read the menu. Prices were a bit high for the quality of the food.
My husband and I have eaten at Lakeway Restaurant occasionally for many, many years. We've always loved going for the weekend breakfast buffet. But, this time (New Years Day) was a real disappointment.
We stayed at the Lakeway Resort for our anniversary recently and dined at the restaurant on-site that evening. I booked the reservation online and specified at that time that we were coming to celebrate our anniversary. When we arrived the front of the restaurant was populated with families but there was absolutely no one in the back. When the hostess attempted to seat us up front with everyone else I politely asked if we could move to the back where it was quieter for a more romantic feel. The hostess was more than happy to oblige but as we went back another family came with us, three adults and two (not very well-behaved) children. They sat right in the middle of the back room and the little ones made use of having the room basically to themselves. Kids are fine, great even, but we wanted an upscale restaurant feel and got a Chili's dining experience. It was disappointing (er, annoying) to say the least. The food was good, I've definitely had better for the price we paid, but there's not really anything else out there and we were there to enjoy being together. We went back the next morning for brunch and really enjoyed the buffet option- omg the 'french toast bread pudding' thing! Since we weren't trying to have alone time, the kids were no bother.
My husband and I went to dinner for Valentines day. I was aware that there was a set menu, which I was ok with. The food was ok, not wonderful. I was unaware that gratuity would already be set in our final bill and I was no happy with that at all. From the start our waitress was grumpy and unfriendly. She didn't deserve the tip that was already included in our bill at the end of the night. To me it seemed she already knew what kind of tip she was going to get so what was the point of giving good service. We won't be returning to your restaurant.
We brought relatives from out of town here for Thanksgiving dinner. Food was great, service was great, price was great. We will be back, and probably for Thanksgiving dinner again next year.
Great food and drinks. Service was excellent. They had vegetarian selection that was quite tasty. Wine list was good. Cocktails were good too. Recommend to friend.
My wife wanted to go somewhere else, but I talked her into going there because it was conveniently next to hotel...my mistake. I ordered the filet and I was "lucky" because they had one left (how does a steakhouse run out if steak?). First, wasn't the best cut of meat, guess that's why it was saved until the end. Second, I ordered it med well, it was barely medium rare. Service was slow (but was not crowded, so why?) and I couldn't even get him to come by to fix it before I filled up on other items (for the record the onion rings were very good). Since hotel room did not have fridge, could not have them re-heat steak or replace (and it was last one anyway) to eat later, they did not charge me. They also offered dessert, but too full.
Outside views were great, if you don't mind looking at the pool. The expensive cost didn't match up with the sub-par taste of the food.
First of all, the description of the restaurant says "pristine views of Lake Travis" -- perhaps it's due to the drought, but we saw no water. The view was better than perhaps a restaurant in a commercial district, but it wasn't amazing. There were only 2 or 3 other tables occupied, so we didn't have issues with the servers being attentive. However, getting the food took a while. My wife and I both ordered "medium rare" steaks. They came out well done. Given how long it took to get the food, we didn't feel like sending it back. Even though they were cooked wrong, the food was still decent. However, for the price we paid (120 dollars for meals only, no alcohol), I had much higher expectations.
Arrived 10 minutes early and were asked to have a drink until we got to our reservation time even though there were plenty of open tables. Sensing our disapproval after the 6 of us made no move for the bar, a manager approached and explained they "had a bad night last night and we want to pace the kitchen". This was a first. Our server was very good but the speed of service was poor. The front entrance looks like something out of the 80's, not at all welcoming.
Beautiful view overlooking the lake. My filet ordered medium rare was well done, but with the wonderful sauces and the good meat, still delicious. Wait staff could use more training on service procedures: removed fork and knife used for salad and placed on bread and butter plate rather than giving fresh utensils for the entree, served my husband first, etc.
I was very pleased at my first visit to Mastersons. It was the perfect place to sit and visit while being treated to a lovely meal. They carry my favorite wine, so that of course was an extra plus. The waiter was cheerful and helpful and we all felt special.
Promptly greeted and drink order taken and delivered in a timely manner. I was offered one menu choice, due to special dietary needs, they were willing to alter the item due to preferences. Wine ordered and brought to the table, a chiller promised and never bought and waiter never again poured the wine. Appetizer was fine, fork removed and never replaced had to request another. Entrees - seafood slightly overcooked, sides bland, but no one ever bothered to check back after the runner brought the food. For the prices quality and service does not live up!
This place was the perfect evening away:)

This might be a good place at a lower price. It feels like they are trying to be a fine restaurant, but it doesn't quite come off that way. The food is ok, but it doesn't rank as a fine food establishment. The Old Fashioned I had was good, but the bartender put an entire orange slice in the drink which is improper for the drink. It should be a twist and even better if flame kissed. The sevice was pleasant, but timid and not polished. Waitress and kitchen were accommodating and prompt. We just didn't get the warm fuzzy feeling from our dining experience. It was slowish since we were there early, so maybe not everything was in the groove, yet.
The service and food were great. The ONLY complaint I have is that we HAD to order off of the limited Valentine's Day menu. When booking my reservation, I thought that I was being allowed the option to purchase it. I did not because I wanted to go specifically for the filet and the onion rings that I'd heard such great things about. Could be my mistake but from the way I understood it, I was going to be able to choose from a regular menu. I doubt that this would have been a deal breaker for me, sending me somewhere else, I just would like to have known that I was going to be limited. I do not like half of the options or can't eat them and had no need for salad or dessert. (But the steak that we did split was absolutely amazing!)
CJ, a new bartender, was terrific and made the experience worthwhile. This restaurant has some tension amongst staff and with the kitchen.
We were staying at the Lakeway Resort, so eating at Masterson's was more of a convenience than anything else. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The food was above average and the atmosphere was very comfortable. Steak was cooked perfectly and the lobster risotto was full of lobster and very tasty. The kitchen made a couple of mistakes with our salads (left off the avocado) and dessert (waited 20 minutes for cold bread pudding), but that did not ruin an otherwise nice dinner as the avocado was brought out after asking our server and the bread pudding was taken off our bill.
