Awesome food! Attentive staff!
We’ve been here numerous times but this visit was disappointing. The martini glasses have gotten smaller and the food was average to low quality.
Truly upsetting as this was a great place to meet friends.
The risotto was simply rice with what appeared to be low quality shellfish... and to make matters worse there were gastrointestinal problems after consuming it.
I shouldn’t have to be disappointed and get sick from a simple entree that an Italian restaurant should be mastered in. The service was excellent but couldn’t save the evening.
We chose Trattoria Zero Otto Nove for our anniversary dinner and were not disappointed. We were looking for someplace new and liked the reviews we'd seen so we gave them a try. We shared a pizza with sausage, potato and smoked mozzarella to start and it was delicious. Perfect fennel flavor to the sausage, crust was crispy but also slightly doughy and held up to the toppings well. I had the steak pizzaiola and cut of meat and the sauce were excellent. Wife had chicken with roasted peppers and smoked mozzarella, served with potatoes and brussel sprouts which were perfectly seasoned. Chicken was juicy, peppers and mozzarella delicious. All portions were generous and reasonably priced, especially for Manhattan. What almost stole the show was our side of sauteed cauliflower. Not very exciting you'd think, but damn, it was tasty. Excellent, attentive but not intrusive service, no rush to leave. Interesting details such as archways and brick in the decor gave a big room a cozy feel. We would definitely return. Many items on the menu sounded good in addition to what we chose.
Amazing locale! Best Italian food outside Italy!!!! You must take time and stop by, enjoy the fantastic food and great service!!! This location and the others in Armonk and Bronx are really worth a visit!!
Excellent food, service and ambiance. Prices were very reasonable. Short distance from our midtown hotel.
This is my go to place, when I’m South of 42nd Street. Never had a bad meal. Great staff and great food. I’m not a meat eater, but there are plenty of choices for everyone. If I had one complaint, it would be the noise level. The interior is beautiful, but all hard surfaces, so noise just bounces. Could use some sound deadening, but it never keeps me away.
The service, food and ambiance were perfect. We had a very nice and relaxing evening. We never felt rushed.
Overall a nice meal. The waiter was attentive without being overbearing. The gin and tonics hit the spot. In the bread basket, the focaccia was average, but the bread was very fresh and soft, perfect for sopping up sauce. The short rib appetizer was delicious, yet the linguine and clams main course was mediocre. The soft shell crab special was very tasty, but a little greasy.
Small but great bar and the food was awesome. Six of us were there celebrating a birthday and no one was disappointed.
The food was underwhelming for the prices charged. We order the mussels appetizer, and the mussels were way past their prime and smelled extremely fishy.
Always good and our favorite bartender Freddie
We decided to go for lunch to celebrate a work anniversary. Service was impeccable! Pizza was delicious!
The staff was very helpful, and friendly. The food was amazing. I would recommend this for a great night out.
Amazing service and the food was incredible as always. My go to place for work and friend dinners.
Not as warm as the Arthur Ave location, but still a great night of eating. Attentive servers and amazing food.
My birthday lunch
And my husband is Italian !!
Father’s Day lunch
Good food very friendly atmosphere
When I reserved my table I included in the comments that my son and I share a birthday and were in the city celebrating. There were 2 other birthday celebrations going on and we watched as they brought out a slice of cake for them and for us they brought out 1 cream puff with a candle in it. They asked who's birthday it was, I said both of ours and they proceeded to sing with the one cream puff, mumbling something inaudible at the name part of the song. Also, would have been nice to have had their specials printed out. We could barely understand what our waiter was saying and had to have him repeat the specials. The food was good, a bit pricey. The service was definitely a disappointment!
As always great food and service
Awesome tasting food. Had a mixed seafood soup dish it was excellent.
Went here with my mom and daughter after reading reviews of restaurants that were good in the area. Zero Otto Nove came up as being one of the best in the area and I would have to agree this place was excellent! The food, wine, ambiance and staff were all wonderful. We will definitely be visiting again.
Worth the try! Great place to have dinner with your friends or family. We loved the pizza, it was fresh and delicious. The staff was great - we didn't have to wait too long to be served. I'll go back again :)
Great spot for a fun family dinner in the city. Jose was a great waiter and brought a positive and fun attitude while making sure we had everything we needed. Very nice architecture and decor with high ceilings and an old-world ambience with a fun vibe.
Truly great traditional Italian is harder and harder to find, especially with high-end service at reasonable prices. Everything from the pizza to the daily specials are executed to perfection, with tired classics like spaghetti and meatballs or clams and linguine somehow raised up to new levels. Very good bar and a fun, open layout make it great for a date or a group.
Love this restaurant. Been here a few times. Only disappointment was when I asked for a round table the hostess said she couldn’t accommodate 8 people at a round table. I’ve been here before with 8 people and we sat at a round table. Otherwise everything was outstanding
Zero Otto nove is special every time. You must get the raddiatore!
Even though it was a busy Mother’s Day crowd, the service or quality of food remained excellent!
Always one of my favorites when visiting NY city the food and service are always great!
It was an after theater dinner planned for Mother’s Day. Our server Jose was great and knowledgeable about the wine options and menu. Meal was perfect with ample portions that could frankly be shared by two
People ( we carried out our leftovers). Very extensive wine list that still had affordable options open to us. Unfortunate for us, the portion left no room for desert. We recommended this place to our friends along with a visit to the Irish Repertory Theater down the street and will be back again.
Reliable Italian restaurant with fresh fish and great pastas. Noise level can be a bit challenging especially after 6pm.
Lively place with a good vibe. Loved the appetizers - a special of shrimp, scallops, cauliflower with guanicale and bread crumbs and regular app of fava beans and artichokes. Don’t get the pizza with sausage, potato and smoked mozzarella. Actually tasteless, but other pizzas were good.
Just wanted good pizza but got so much more, party of 6 ordered 2 pizza's, 2 salad's, and appetizers, was plenty to share. Great service, so attentive staff, my family really enjoyed this meal. Would recommend to all.
Excelente lugar un imperdible
Great Service. Food was excellent. Despite Saturday night being busy at 8 pm everyone did a great job. The waiter helped to pick a great bottle of wine and my food came out as ordered.
Spacious for NYC and even a few oval tables available, which is always great. I was with a group and we spent a while there, never felt rushed from bar to table nor through courses. The service was excellent. The food was really good too--highly recommend the grilled octopus appetizer and the baked pasta special that was baked in foil. The noise level was a little loud around 8pm on a friday when the place was packed and the bar full, but it quieted down soon after. Will certainly return.
Great food and service - great find!
This location and the Arthur Ave location are tremendous.
