First time and after this experience I am pretty sure it won’t the last time
Great food great service very accommodating and friendly atmosphere
We moved to Newport a few years ago and really miss the great neighborhood Italian restaurants in NY and NJ. We were really hoping that Trattoria Romana would be similar. Unfortunately not. Our meals were good, but not outstanding. Lots of people like this place judging from the full dining room, so I guess we're just spoiled. We'll stick with Pasta Beach and Mama Luisa's for our Italian.
We have eaten at all Trattoria locations and have always experienced great food, great service, and great atmosphere. The menu is varied and appeals to all tastes.

This trattoria is by far the most enjoyable classy places to eat. The atmosphere is so enjoyable. The food is impeccable. The service is superb. Anyone who has not tried it is missing out.

We had a delicious meal at the TR, amid a busy but not overly noisy atmosphere. We enjoyed shrimp with pasta and veal Marsala, as well as salads and sides. The only slight disappointment was the chocolate fudge silk cake - a little too sweet.
Great food and service. Scallop appetizer, 2 pasta entrees, wine, and decaf cappuccino were all perfect. Server Kelly was 5 stars. This is our South County favorite Italian. We love his food!
Went there for Easter dinner with family. Wait staff was personable, attentive and friendly. Food was served in timely manner and was delicious. They had several specials as well as regular dinner entrees. Will go again soon.
Food was very good, Michael our waiter was awesome. Only complaint was the food was served luke warm and could have been hotter. Overall experience was very good.

can't say enough about this restaurant. By far my favorite in all of Rhode Island. we come from ny just to eat there and also bring the bread home. Dinner at this restaurant was delicious. We always enjoy the food when we go to Trattoria Romana. It is consistently good with fresh ingredients and very good portions. The wait staff is very friendly and attentive. They make you feel very comfortable in a great atmosphere.
Our favorite Italian restaurant . Start with hard crusted Italian bread.Same as they serve in Europe.We had the muscles as a appetizer.Super flavorful in tomato sauce.Great selection of entrees.I have never been disappointed.I had one of their veal selections.Large wine selection.Quiet & pleasant atmosphere.Service staff does a great job.Cant wait to return.

Made reservations for two for 5:45 on a Sat, didn't expect the restaurant to be full at that time. Needless to say, we sat at a table that was too small, too close to a couple next to us (i had to excuse myself as I sat down so that I wouldn't bump into their table) On my other side was a family of 4 with two young kids that were under age 6 and couldn't sit still. The ambiance was not exactly what I expected for the price I paid . Couldn't even have a quiet conversation without hearing the conversations on both sides of us. Not worth the money. I suppose if I had a booth, it would have been a more enjoyable dinner. I probably will not return. Too pricey for the atmosphere. Would not recommend.

We love the food and ambiance at Trattoria Romano. We also enjoy going there because of our wonderful waiter Michael. He is so welcoming and remembers every detail about our favorites from drinks to dinner. It is great to feel so special when dining out. We also appreciate Melissa and Scott for making sure we get a table that we prefer and for seeing to it that Michael is our waiter.

As one would expect on Valentines day it was packed. Our table was ready for our reservation time with no issues.
Our server Danielle was excellent and never hovered but was always available and came when she saw a need for refills of drinks or food arrived.
Took the wife and met my son who is a student down there with his date. All meals were perfect and appetizers and drinks will always satisfy. It isn't the least expensive place around but it was worth the cost as always.
My wife, daughter and I visited for Valentines Day, we had a reservation and sat right down. The service was excellent as was the food and drinks. We have enjoyed each and every visit.

This was about our 5th or 6th visit and again very satisfying. The specials are often worth the chance, although I wish they offered them all of the time, escargot and spaghetti carbonara are just two that come to mind. We will return, next year for our 55th anniversary.
Very disappointing! Made reservation in advance and had a seat in the bar area. We were literally sitting on top of 2 other separate tables. Had waitress butt in our space as she waited on these other tables. I don't mind spending money on a good dinner but do not expect to pay the prices I paid sitting in an aweful seating arrangement. Terrible! My dinner was fine (pork chop with vinegar peppers) but my husband and son's steak was tough and had lots of fat. I will not be recommending this restaurant and not returning. Overpriced for the quality and atmosphere/seating.
We had a 7:45/pm dinner reservation for 6 people. We arrived 5 mins early gave our name and were pleasantly surprised to be offered immediate seating. Our waitress Kelly promptly came over and offered drinks, bread & water, while we waited for the rest of our party. As the other two couples arrived she greeted each couple. She was extremely pleasant and gave us terrific service. We didn’t wait for anything....water glasses were always refilled promptly, drinks were offered before they were empty & frequent checks from Kelly & the staff were plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3+ hour evening, relaxing with good friends.
We love Trattoria Romana, the staff and the food...and will be visiting again soon!

Besides the food being cooked just the way my wife and I liked it, our server and all of her helpers were just great. Very polite and attentive. We just loved her. Our server, I wish I could remember her name, was out of five stars she was 10 stars. The excellent food and our server made our celebration of paying of the mortgage a super and memorial night at Trattoria Romana In Wakefield .

Trattoria Romana is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always outstanding. We have never been disappointed. Michael, the waiter we always request, is friendly and makes us feel so special. He remembers our favorite drinks and meals and always makes sure that we are satisfied. The hostess, Melissa, is very accommodating and nice. Scott checks to be sure we enjoyed our evening. We feel as though they appreciate our business
