Trattoria Romana In Wakefield Ratings and Reviews
My husband and I have been going to the Trattoria since it opened......we find the food and service to be exceptional, always........we love being able to bring our friends and families to a place that always top notch......Trattoria is our favorite restaurant!!
Food and service were both excellent. However, we arrived earlier than the reservation time to enjoy a drink at the bar, and found the bar full of diners. When a seat opened up, we were told that there was a wait list of people to be seated and therefore had to remain standing. The experience would be more enjoyable if dining wasn’t allowed at the bar.
We were not served what was ordered on two of the dishes. One returned and one eaten.
The waitress was very sweet and kind but made light of the mistake and took no responsibility and blame was placed on the people serving.
Very uncomfortable when three people are eating and the fourth is not.
I have been to this restaurant several times and I have never been disappointed ever. The service is always pleasant and knowledgeable always makes you feel welcomed. The food is always awesome from chicken parmigiana to veal chop to fish special always fresh and delicious. The ambiance is inviting and romantic and also family oriented. If you eat at this restaurant you will not be disappointed! I give it 5 out of 5!
I was very disappointed recently. The Calamari Fritti was not fresh and was over cooked. The Fruitti Di Mare Posilipo was very disappointing. Sea food was not fresh and was mostly mussels. The pasta was over cooked. Traditionally, I looked forward to eating there, unfortunately that is no longer the case.
I asked if they could make Penne with Vodka Sause - since it was not on the menu - they said: "Of Course, it is delicious." It was horrible, all they did was take some tomato sauce from some other dish on the menu and add some cream. I sent it back once and it was equally awful on the return - so I gave up. The "homemade" pasta was thick and tasted of uncooked flower. I would not recommend this restaurant.
I am so lucky to have Trattoria Romana less than a mile up the road from the condos where I live. Food is always excellent. I took a few visiting NY friends here this past Saturday eve. They’ve been here before and reiterated that the food quality and service were even better than what the are accustomed to in the City. The veal and chicken Sorrentino, excellent; Gamberi Toscana and fruittti di mare also as tasty as any they’ve had. Best was that our waitress Kelly S. was as lovely as any waitress we have ever had the opportunity to serve us (and we’ve been around !) Thanks for the amazing service, fun conversation and sincere love of working at the Trattoria. Best restaurant in South County !
Beautiful restaurant, outstanding service, huge portions. My wife shared the mushroom appetizer with my older daughter. They loved it! I shared the pumpkin ravioli with my younger daughter. It was fantastic! Our entrees were Veal PIcatta, Chicken Parmasian, the grilled Salmon special, and the Swordfish. All were a "10" except the swordfish which was bland, but good. The bread and angel hair pasta were a treat
We celebrated a 60th birthday. We had a nice table with a wonderful server that acknowledged the birthday person several times throughout the meal which made it more special and festive. The food was fabulous and plentiful and the specialty drinks (3 of us had the Harvest Sangria) were amazing. It was a wonderful and relaxing evening with top notch service.
My Husband and I took a 35 minute drive to Trattoria Romana Saturday 9/23/17. We were greeted at the front desk by a very nice GM and Hostess. It's very beautiful inside, has a clubby feel to it with dark woods and comfortable seating. For an app. we ordered shrimp cocktail which was chilled perfectly. We both had the Vongole, he had the white and I had the red. It was fantastic. Wine selection is great. We split a Bomba for dessert. We both said "delicious" at the same time about our meals! Will certainly be back.
Thank you for a well trained wAiter who offered veal Parmesan gluten- free which I haven't had in 5 years in any restaurant! There were so many dishes to choose from- we highly recommend the thoughtful and well executed menu! My Italian husband loved the authentic bread as well and wine selection was great!
