Trattoria Romana In Wakefield Ratings and Reviews
Food was very good. Wait staff excellent.
Made reservations for two for 5:45 on a Sat, didn't expect the restaurant to be full at that time. Needless to say, we sat at a table that was too small, too close to a couple next to us (i had to excuse myself as I sat down so that I wouldn't bump into their table) On my other side was a family of 4 with two young kids that were under age 6 and couldn't sit still. The ambiance was not exactly what I expected for the price I paid . Couldn't even have a quiet conversation without hearing the conversations on both sides of us. Not worth the money. I suppose if I had a booth, it would have been a more enjoyable dinner. I probably will not return. Too pricey for the atmosphere. Would not recommend.
We love the food and ambiance at Trattoria Romano. We also enjoy going there because of our wonderful waiter Michael. He is so welcoming and remembers every detail about our favorites from drinks to dinner. It is great to feel so special when dining out. We also appreciate Melissa and Scott for making sure we get a table that we prefer and for seeing to it that Michael is our waiter.
As one would expect on Valentines day it was packed. Our table was ready for our reservation time with no issues.
Our server Danielle was excellent and never hovered but was always available and came when she saw a need for refills of drinks or food arrived.
Took the wife and met my son who is a student down there with his date. All meals were perfect and appetizers and drinks will always satisfy. It isn't the least expensive place around but it was worth the cost as always.
This was about our 5th or 6th visit and again very satisfying. The specials are often worth the chance, although I wish they offered them all of the time, escargot and spaghetti carbonara are just two that come to mind. We will return, next year for our 55th anniversary.
Very disappointing! Made reservation in advance and had a seat in the bar area. We were literally sitting on top of 2 other separate tables. Had waitress butt in our space as she waited on these other tables. I don't mind spending money on a good dinner but do not expect to pay the prices I paid sitting in an aweful seating arrangement. Terrible! My dinner was fine (pork chop with vinegar peppers) but my husband and son's steak was tough and had lots of fat. I will not be recommending this restaurant and not returning. Overpriced for the quality and atmosphere/seating.
We had a 7:45/pm dinner reservation for 6 people. We arrived 5 mins early gave our name and were pleasantly surprised to be offered immediate seating. Our waitress Kelly promptly came over and offered drinks, bread & water, while we waited for the rest of our party. As the other two couples arrived she greeted each couple. She was extremely pleasant and gave us terrific service. We didn’t wait for anything....water glasses were always refilled promptly, drinks were offered before they were empty & frequent checks from Kelly & the staff were plentiful. We thoroughly enjoyed our 3+ hour evening, relaxing with good friends.
We love Trattoria Romana, the staff and the food...and will be visiting again soon!
Besides the food being cooked just the way my wife and I liked it, our server and all of her helpers were just great. Very polite and attentive. We just loved her. Our server, I wish I could remember her name, was out of five stars she was 10 stars. The excellent food and our server made our celebration of paying of the mortgage a super and memorial night at Trattoria Romana In Wakefield .
Trattoria Romana is one of our favorite restaurants. The food is always outstanding. We have never been disappointed. Michael, the waiter we always request, is friendly and makes us feel so special. He remembers our favorite drinks and meals and always makes sure that we are satisfied. The hostess, Melissa, is very accommodating and nice. Scott checks to be sure we enjoyed our evening. We feel as though they appreciate our business
We would highly recommend this restaurant.
I always look at the menu before I go spend I don't get overwhelmed; then I only need to check the specials. The layout and the food are excellent. On Thursday they were filled to the point of perfect enjoyment: you don't want to eat alone, but you don't want to not be able to talk either. They really know their business. But the sauces are the reason we go.
The ambiance was splendid and the meals were very good. Veal Saltimbocca was more of the traditional Italian dish than other close by restaurants serve. The pasta is fresh. The Veal Parmigiana was huge, tender and delicious! The Salmon from my wife's point of view was excellent. The appetizers; calamari was very good with a nice spicy marinara dip, the mozzarella wrap in prosciutto was not good (I don't think prosciutto needs to be smoked), however the stuffed finger peppers were good. The only bad comment I have was that the bread served was burnt and had a burnt taste, and the olive oil and balsamic vinegar dipping was terrible. I think they added pepper or something to it, mixed with the burnt bread it was horrendous.
Since it was our Anniversary, we ended up with cocktails, appateezer, great bottle of wine (Brunello del Montalchino), and to finish it off with the Lamb OsoBucco. Which was totally unbelievable. Meat just fell off the bone. We had great service, waitress was wonderful and her timing was perfect, did not bother us at all. The ambiance was great in the beginning, then it filled up and became a bit noisy. Everyone was talking about the Patriot game which was to be played later that day. Go Trattoria, Oh...Pats.
Trattoria Romano is one of our favorite restaurants in the area. However, we felt the food was not up to their normal standards on this visit. The bread was delish, as always and the Caesar Salad was good. But, I had Chicken Francaise and my husband had Veal Francaise and we were both disappointed. Our friends, on the other hand, had Chicken and Veal Parmigiano and loved it. We will be back, but hate when the food is not consistent. Always love the ambiance.
we have a party of 8 come every new yrs. we love the place. the food, and the service is the best anyware, how he can remember 8 dinners and all of the drinks, without writing them down,
is great. I come with my wife all the time during the season. but we all look forward to the new
yrs night!! thanks!!!
Our early New Year’s Eve dinner was superb for several reasons. Through our Open Table reservation, I asked for a table in the dining room, and it was provided. Michael, our server, greeting us in a friendly and professional manner. His mastery of the extensive holiday menu was clearly evident and our order was remembered perfectly. Our meal was served in a timely manner, dishes and glasses cleared as needed, and Michael checked with us in unobtrusive fashion. Both our entrees were excellent(lasagna and veal sorrentino), and the after dinner martini and decaf cappuccino were fitting ends to a wonderful dining experience on an extremely hectic evening.
Great meals. Perhaps best Italian food in Rhode Island. The best dessert since Vienna thirty years ago! Puff pastry filled with light cream, covered with milk chocolate and topped with whipped cream! Unreal. All meals were excellent. Veal Francese, pasta dishes, even spaghetti with meatballs were way better than good. Service was a bit overly attentive and cliched, but fine. Highly recommended.
We had an amazing evening at Trattoria Romana in Wakefield. The service was the best we've had there and the food was terrific. I forgot our waitress' name, but she was outstanding. She got the order right and we did not have to wait long to be served. We will be back.
The food is always great at this restaurant. Scott, the manager, does a great job of making you feel welcome. I'm kind of limited when it comes to the kind of food that I can eat, but I never have a problem finding a delicious meal at this restaurant. Great menu at fair prices. Servers are polite and friendly.
