Trattoria Romana In Lincoln Ratings and Reviews
We went to dinner on Saturday night before Valentine's Day, so needless to say it was very busy. I was concerned as I thought we would have to wait an extended amount of time. We only waited 15 minutes, had wonderful seats and the service and the food were exceptional!
Definitely one of our favorite restaurants. We went there for an early Valentine celebration. Great service and delicious food as always. It is pricey, but very well worth it. I had the swordfish scampi which was enough for two people. It was absolutely delicious! My husband had the veal parm which he raved about as well.
I normally love this place, but not this time. There were three of us and all three plates had an issue. One order had to be made twice and both times it was wrong. There were bones in a boneless chicken breast, and the gravy on my pasta and chicken parm tasted like it was burnt and had been sitting awhile.
This is usually a go to place for me, but not so sure anymore.
The outside dining area was too cold for a January evening dinner.
I tried to get another table but would have a longer wait. This is my favorite restaurant. Very disappointed that we had to sit outside even though it was enclosed.
Looking for another restaurant for next time!
The food was good. Service was not as great. Our waitress was definately a smoker, she at one point tried stopping the hostest while talking to us and try to get her to sit someone at her table which was next to us, she did not check up on our food in a timely manner and asked if we wanted another cocktail when we were done with dinner.
I went there on a Saturday night to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday. We had reservations for a group of 6 people @ 7pm. We got there a few minutes early because we knew it would be busy due to the weekend crowd, but still had to wait at least 30 - 35 mins after our reservation to be seated. That was very inconvenient for us as we had plans afterwards that we ended up being late for. Our table was also in the corner of the outside seating area which was extremely dark. We could barely see our menus and had to use our phone lights to read it. The manager (I believe was so anyway) offered us a calamari appetizer on the house as she could tell we were all annoyed. I had also asked for a piece of tiramisu to be brought out at the end of dinner for the birthday boy during my reservation confirmation call that was never brought out.
I was a little disappointed in my dining experience of my most recent visit as that is not the service I usually receive. It was two of our guest's first time there and they were not pleased. I usually go to Trattoria 3-4X a year and have nothing but great experiences each time, so I just wanted to let you know about this recent visit. Our waiter, food & drinks were all excellent though and I will continue going here, but hope I do not have an experience like this again.
Last year’s NYE dinner was better than this year’s. I thought the portions were smaller (my husband got ONE very small chunk of lobster in his veal Ragosta) ( my veal parm with a small portion of pasta had a sauce with a fishy taste to me); and the cost of the specials were obscenely overpriced, holiday or not! Our dinner courses were a bit rushed and the wait person was too quick to swipe dishes away while the other diner was still eating yet forgot to circle back with requested items like a fork. Atmosphere is always pleasing at TR, especially for a big celebration 🎉 , yet I did see other diners using the flashlights on their phones to read their menus! I’d say in conclusion that my appetizer and husband’s wedge salad were the best parts of our meals. It pains me to write a mediocre review as all my prior experiences and thus our previous reviews were 5 stars across the board. I can’t understand why such an important occasion was less than stellar. So sorry to have to say these things. ...Can’t wait to read other reviews from NYE 2017 to see if our experience was an aberration....
Waiter was excellent...food was outstanding...drink prices were very high(this is not downtown Providence). I thought $12.00 for crown royal was outrageous and $9.75 for regular drinks very high.
It was a noon time lunch with my wife and 94 year old mother. Outside of the drink prices, all was good.
My meal came with cheese when I asked for no cheese and then they brought it without cheese when I was finished with the rest of the meal and my extra vegetable I ordered also came after I was done eating. To top it off they ran out of the dessert I usually get so couldn’t have dessert.
