Trattoria Romana In Lincoln Ratings and Reviews
We have been before a few times and have enjoyed it so much. This visit was disappointing. It was a holiday luncheon for nine people. Service was attentive by a very nice server, however food was so slow being brought out to table. Once dishes finally appeared they tasted off. My wedge salad’s dressing tasted sour. Then the entrees were a mess. Many ordered the pinchi pasta with shrimp and every one of them thought the pasta was too chewy. Pork chop entree was dry and tough. My dish had a side pasta instead of mashed and the side was so cold.
We ordered desserts that tasted delicious although they took awhile to be served again. Our table thinks they did not have a full staff in the kitchen and maybe since it’s the holidays and lots of bigger groups were there that the restaurant did not know how to manage service.
So disappointing for such a beautiful restaurant and knowing that they usually serve great meals.
We felt like royalty at our anniversary dinner. Complementary champagne toast, amazing service, wonderful food. It was romantic, upscale, and relaxing. Our waiter Jonathan was honestly one of the best servers I've ever had. I will be requesting him next time we go. Highly recommend :)
We had been to Trattatoria before and the wait time to be seated and get served was expected. This time we waited 30 minutes with reservations to be seated, didn’t get served our app until an hour into being seated and asked our server 4 separate times for extra napkins and bread. By the time the bread came we had both finished our meals. Really disappointed in the service and how close everyone was crammed into the dining area. Food was delicious, just not sure if I would go back knowing the service was so slow.
I went with my two daughters and a family friend. We had reservations for 5:30 was already busy when we got there. We were seated around 5:50. Waitress came right over took our drink mean and came with olives and bread and asked us often if we needed more. Took our dinner menu after dinner she asked if we wanted the dessert menu we said will look because we are celebrating two birthdays, we didn't get any because we were full, but though maybe one dessert or maybe some chocolates would have been a nice touch at the end of our dinner because of the birthdays, but everything was delicious and the waitress was very intentive.
Food was fresh and well worth the money. Little pricey but if you don't mind paying for good food this place is it. Had reservation on a Saturday night through open table for 8pm got seated after 8:30 and once seated we were put at a small table in the back room in a corner by an exit door and had a large party of about 20 people who were loud and arrogant seated right beside us. Very loud and hard to hear.
Delicious food and good service. Very hectic atmosphere. We were seated near an area which appeared to be a main thorough fare for the wait staff. There was a large spillover crowd from the bar that forced the staff to whizz by very close to the back of my companion's chair...often carrying food and empty dishes over my friend's head. Unfortunately my friend was not really able to enjoy herself as a result.
The service started out slow. It took a long time for our drinks to arrive. The food was excellent. I had veal, and it was incredibly tender and moist. The experience itself was not that enjoyable. It was WAY TOO LOUD. There were just two of us dining together, and we couldn't hear each other talking. Part of the problem is with large parties that they put in the middle of the room with smaller parties all around. Those large parties generate too much noise to allow others to have a nice time.
We had a wonderful experience at Trattoria Romana. The atmosphere was beautiful, our waitress was very attentive and knowledgeable about all of the specials. The food was fabulous. The portions were quite large and I was able to split a meal with my daughter and had more than enough food. So many dishes on the menu that I want to try. We can’t wait to go back.
Two large parties left while we were having dinner and we had to endure a large number of staff breaking down tables raising and lowering the leaves moving chairs around and then doing set up. Very obtrusive. Ruined the atmosphere of the evening.
