The food is consistently excellent. The service is good. We were having a nice chat and enjoying our wine after our meal and the waiter didn't bother us. That was nice. It was very relaxing. The night we went, the restaurant was packed, which was nice. Still able to converse easily.

My friend and I decided to try this neighborhood spot. We were delighted. The food and ambiance were lovely--a touch of romance, yet relaxed. My clam linguine was delicious as was the chocolate mocha mousse! Our half bottle of Chianti was so good--we ordered more! Will definitely come back again!

An exceptional restaurant! Excellent cuisine: traditional Italian fare. Excellent service. This was my first visit, after reading about it on Open Table. It reminded me of the best of the Boston North End Italian restaurants and, decades ago when I was growing up in New York City , our special occasion Italian restaurant. Highly recommended.

I'm a regular here and this was another excellent meal. I really like this place,
but they are nearly a mile from Harvard Square and don;t get so many walk-ins.

Was a quaint place where one can enjoy a great meal out - You can take your time and enjoy each course - large wine selection and great taste of Italy. Would go back every time we are in the area.

My family's been going here for 22 years and it's been wonderful the entire time. The service is superb and the atmosphere is great. The food ranges from fantastic versions of American Italian food to extremely well done renditions of authentic Italian food.

My partner and I stumbled upon this place in the hunt for trying to find a new place to eat, and we did not expect to find such a gem of a restaurant! We made a reservation, which is a must, because there are only about 8 tables. But that is part of the charm of this place: it is so cozy and intimate, you almost feel like you are in a friend's kitchen. The food of course was amazing, and some of the most authentic Italian food I have had in Boston so far. I loved everything about this place, and would recommend to anyone who wants to treat their loved ones to a cozy, romantic setting :)

Since I've had great meals at Pulcinella in the past, thought it was a good place for special dinner with my daughter who was visiting me from out of town. Perhaps we hit it on the wrong night...or staff/management has changed since my last visit? I had one of the specials: skate wing. The skate wing was just all right but I ate it ( even though I wanted to send it back), and I experienced a strong ammonia aftertaste in my mouth as soon as the plate was taken off the table--which meant my initial thought that it wasn't fresh was right. My daughter said her wine was terrific but the pasta was very mushy. I had indicated on my reservation that I was gluten free--NO GLUTEN FREE PASTA HERE. The cook did accommodate by not flouring the skate wing. The only vegetables available were spinach and canned artichokes; so in addition to not being a place for gluten sensitive people, it had no indication of accommodating the vegetarian. This is a small place, a neighborhood place near to me, and is full of fond memories--both culinary and emotional. I wish it had been a better food night.

The main meal was fine; the tomato sauce was bland, and the meals were a bit steeply priced, but we weren't unhappy with the meal until dessert. The creme brulee tasted like fish, and was truly awful.

Authentic Italian food served by a genial host. I usually choose the Italian wine recommended by the host for the perfect accompaniment to the food.

I haven't been to this neighborhood restaurant in years. my salad was good but I didn't eat my main meal - the fish was nondescript and slathered in tomato sauce; the spinach salad that came with it was oily/overdressed. My dinner companions thought their food was passable but not worth the prices charged. Service was rushed; dining room noisy (tile floor). It's a cute restaurant and in my neighborhood but I won't be returning.

Biggest problem I had with this restaurant was that the menu that is displayed here on OpenTable was not the menu presented to us at the table. I had rather been looking forward to trying various items here, and was quite disappointed by the menu we were given.

We have dined at Pulcinella for at least ten years when our daughter went to grad school in Cambridge and the staff, cuisine, service and atmosphere keep on making it one of our top restaurants in Cambridge/Boston.

I'm a regular here, and this is my favorite local place. I've eaten there often and never
had a bad experience. This time I had "blank ink pasta" (calimari and pasta) which was new
to me. It was quite spicy which II had not expected, but delicious.

When we went, food good but not outstanding. A Fri pm after snow. Bread old, maybe due to storm. Pleasant small neighborhood space--open many yrs--dishes okay, some v good. Service pleasant. Spinach their only winter vegetable? Good in our salad, but we'd have appreciated variety in other dishes. Overall, costly given location, food, ambiance. Convenient for neighbors, but pricy, too. I will give it another try.

Pulcinella used to be so wonderful: fresh, delicious, varied dishes--you felt like you really were in a good trattoria in Italy. (Lots of daily specials recited by the waiter--now, alas, there's a menu.) We went back last week after not having been there for several years, and everything just tasted stale. The tomato sauce on the pasta tasted off; the chicken parmesan seemed like it had been cooked ages ago. One waiter was covering the whole room--a challenge that no one really could have met. It took a long while simply to order a glass of wine. We were planning to order a second one but gave up after a long wait and just asked for the check. Maybe it was just an off night? Oh, I miss the old Pulcinella--

Trattoria Pulcinella is a casual restaurant with fresh and authentic Italian cuisine. We had octopus and Lasagnette as appetizers. Both choices very good. Main course: Fish of the day and the salted dried cod. Both freshly prepared and very tasty. Amanda attended our table. She was accommodating and knowledgeable about about the menu. The chef met our gluten free needs. This is a restaurant we will return to.
