I had dinner with my daughter, a nice, cute, quite spot, great ambience, food was real good! Easy on the wallet as well as the palate!
Loved it! Great meeting spot with my college friends.
We returned to Pulcinella after several years - and were thoroughly disappointed. We had an appetizer -fresh artichoke stuffed with ricotta - and it was incredibly bland and boring. No herbs, no sauce, no flavor - just plain ricotta with a coating of very dry and plain breadcrumbs. Three little artichoke hearts served on a plate with no garnish and no nothing. Terrible. We each tried one and left the other. I noticed two other tables did not finish theirs either. Then we had two mains - and were disappointed by both. The quality has really dropped, and it has lost its romantic flair. Too bad.
Charming experience from start to finish. Cozy space with warm mood lighting. The staff greeted neighborhood regulars at the door with hugs, and our charming waiter made a bunny puppet out of a napkin to entertain our son! Pasta was delicious and generously portioned. We will definitely be back.
A delightful local Italian Restaurant. Just one guy acting as greeter, buser, waiter, food runner and he made sure our glasses were always filled!
This place is awesome ...a rare gem! No need to go to the North End...this place is on par and even better.
I’m trying to reconcile our dining experience with the 4.7 rating this restaurant had at the time we had dinner.
The Italian meat and cheese appetizer was just ok. The pasta dishes listed Italian bacon (?) as a first ingredient but was hard to find in two separate dishes. Including the carbonara. The the creme brûlée was
I'm a regular here, and rarely if ever had a bad meal. Service is casual but friendly,
and always willing to substitute -on request - I had some pasta instead of spinach with
my entree. My favorite spot in Cambridge, though it's not cheap.
They don't make them like this anymore. If you want a cozy old world neighborhood trattoria, where your waiter has served your neighbors for 30 years and still rushes from table to table attentively and caringly, spotlessly recommending a perfect wine, customizing your pasta like you want it with good humor and warmth, reserve a table at Trattoria Pulcinella, located in a quiet corner of West Cambridge. You'll dine besides Harvard notarati and you won't be able to resist the lemon sorbet, cupped in a whole lemon, for dessert--just like they serve it in Napoli. I used to be a regular when I lived in this neighborhood and dropped by for dinner last Sunday when I was in town. My dining companion, a New Yorker of British descent, sung the restaurant's praises. Our pasta was delicious but most of all, we loved the intimacy of the place--limited to just a few tables--which really lent itself to catching up on the 3 years that had kept us apart. Thank you Pulcinella! A perfect place for lovers, close friends and family!
Great dinner for a party of 10. Feels like a slice of Italy in Cambridge. Ceviche was superb as was the lamb chop special.
Amazing! Wonderful and friendly service and the food was what you expect and more when thinking of “authentic” Italian food. Definitely recommend for a family meal or even a nice little date
My wife and I went there close to 20 years ago so it was nice to go back and see it hadn’t changed. Same great spot with great Italian food.
Trattoria Pulcinella is great for a date night! I would also love to go back for a casual night out with friends or family. Really lovely.
Quintessential neighborhood spot that is all about ease and comfort. Small, unpretentious but gracious room, welcoming staff. Food is always simple and good without being fussy, and occasionally rises to unexpected heights--the grilled octopus appetizer last night was perfect!
Wonderful Mother's Day dinner at Trattoria Pulcinella. The owner was so courteous and attentive and the food was wonderful. Highly recommended.
This is a wonderful Cambridge restaurant, with fresh, flavorful, made-to-order meals in an informal, friendly ambience. It's as if we walked into a family-owned, neighborhood restaurant in Southern Italy.
Wonderful neighborhood restaurant. The carbonara is exceptionally good!
One of our favorite places to dine. Good food, outstanding service.
Our meal selections were perfectly delicious and also appealing to the eye. We felt relaxed and could actually hear each other, the European feel and we will definitely be back.
Wonderful small neighborhood authentic restaurant with amazing Northern Italian food. Everything is freshly made, the owner/staff are warm and welcoming. Always a fantastic experience!
Our family has been going to Pulcinella for decades, literally. There's something on the menu for all three generations. It's small and cozy, with great food and service, a real neighborhood gem.
Wonderful food. Excellent service. A real gem.
Excellent service with a genuine smile and passion. Would recommend family and friends to dining. It is a hidden gem.
Excellent service and food.
Wonderfully old school italian with delicious food.
Limited menu. Very average food that was not very interestingly prepared. Very expensive. $30 for chicken parm and $34 for a ham steak (aka porcheta) that I could have done much better at home. I should know better than to go out to a nice restaurant on Valentine’s Day.
Good food but expensive
Good service and wine; very, very bad food. Ugly experience.
Food was ok and service is average. However, it was very cold in the restaurant. I don’t believe they turned on the heat. Customers have to wear coats. Not a way to eat dinner and not acceptable as a restaurant. I will not come here again. There are much better places around.
The Owner was gracious and hospitable. The food was delicious and nicely presented. We ate quite early and were the only diners until about 6 pm, so the restaurant was very quiet. We will return.
Excellent food and service in a quiet, cozy setting. Terrific neighborhood restaurant. Will definitely go back.
We always have a wonderful meal at Pulcinella - it's one of those places you don't want to tell your friends about for fear it will get too popular! The service is always excellent, and the wine list creative. It's always our favorite place to have a great meal and relax.
This is one of our fave neighborhood spots. It's a great spot to have authentic Italian cuisine, with fresh ingredients and a few rotating special dishes added to the standard comfort food menu options.
They also make a lovely cappuccino -- one of my favorite ways to end a great Italian pasta/seafood meal!
DO NOT miss their braised beef ravioli, a menu staple, if you love homemade raviolis that taste like Nonna's :)
Pulcinella has never disappointed. On the contrary, its one of the real jewels of Cambridge.
We've been going for 10 years and just celebrated a birthday -the cooks came through again!
They didn’t honor our open table reservation. We made a reservation about an hour before and when we arrived there was a long line waiting. They had never removed their on line availabilities and said we would have to wait until everyone in line had been seated
Neighborhood gem. Outstanding service and food. Lively but not oppressive atmosphere on a Friday night.
My husband, son and I had an excellent Saturday night meal in this lovely little restaurant during our recent trip trip to Boston. Delicious food and very friendly service. Highly recommended for an authentic Italian experience.
Very poor, the food was burnt and had no taste
Slow service but a genuine old Italy feel, food and wine were well priced and tasted great. Fantastic spot for a dinner date if you’ve got time to burn
