We use the best local ingredients as simply as possible and serve them in a combination of northern and southern Italian cuisine. Our ingredients are purchased from local, mostly organic, friends and local businesses. Chef/ Owner Bledar is proud to make his own cured meats, home-made pasta, bread and desserts.
True to the Italian culture, the warm and knowledgeable staff will make you feel right at home and graciously guide you through the amazing food selections. We love that we are here and live to celebrate both our location and our creative dishes. We would like to mention that in our trattoria we will display art work from different artists and is BYOB.
I had a really enjoyable dinner. Will return for a nice night out!
Delicious food and very nice waitstaff
We had not been to the restaurant for a couple of years. It was as good as we remembered. The food was delicious, and we will definitely return sooner than before. There is a great deal on Sundays and Tuesdays: $35 for 4 courses. Definitely worth it!!
A true neighborhood gem!
The food is great
As is the service
The owner is always around and eager to please!!
We love it there!
Love this restaurant.
I am disappointed in my experience at Trattoria Moma. The restaurant is entirely too small for the amount of tables they have in it and they do not have enough servers to accommodate all of the tables. We were a party of 4 that sat in the front of the restaurant , just a few feet from the front door, and we waited at least 15 minutes for water after we arrived. That is no exaggeration. We watched the server walk to every table to check on the guests, clear plates or take orders for dessert while we waited to be acknowledged and offered water. It got to a point where I walked to the back of the restaurant where the staff was hanging out and I said, "Can you please serve our table some water?" I wouldn't have made such a big deal if the room wasn't jam packed with people causing it to be so hot. That was before we even had our wine bottle opened or the specials shared with us, which was delayed because of the amount of tables the staff had to cover. Our full dining experience should have been 2 hours. But instead, it was 3 hours. Great to catch up with our friends, but there was so much waiting just to be acknowledged and place our orders. Then there was a delay in receiving our bill, so more time waiting after our meal was done.
Second time here and was just as great as the first. We had the branzino and the veal and they were both amazing. Please do not take the branzino dish off of your menu and I’ll come back and get it again. Everything was great from start to finish. Hidden gem.
The food is always well prepared and delicious. Delightful wait staff. One of our favorite places to dine.
Cozy BYOB in Mt. Airy. Food is delicious and creative. We’ve been a few times to the BYOB and had a terrific experience each time.
Overall, we loved the food and felt the restaurant was solid. That said, the noise level was very high and it took away from the dining experience. The service was friendly and generally satisfactory considering it was a packed Saturday night. We will definitely return but will probably choose to come earlier or on a week night when it’s less packed so we can enjoy conversation at the table without raising our voices!
I chose this restaurant from Yelp reviews. And they did not disappoint. We were running a bit late and the host was able to hold our table until we arrived. We had a wonderful meal which included lobster lasagna! We will be back.
I would probably try this spot again, but it was a bit hectic on New Year's Eve and I'm suspecting the food may have suffered a bit as a result. They appeared to have one server and someone else ...maybe the owner? … helping out. We had a late reservation but still waited a long time to even get water. Two tables near us had a can of Pledge on them … less than festive. Food was OK … squash soup with crab had minimal but very tasty crabmeat. The soup was thin didn't have a ton of flavor, but salt and pepper improved in considerably. The seafood risotto was find, but just two scallops seemed skimpy as the description indicated they were the stars of the dish and the mussels were oddly out of their shells buried in the rice. My husband's steak was flavorful. The side dish was not as described and the presentation was lacking. As I said, I think they were maybe understaffed and the menu looks interesting, so I'd give it another try for sure.
Never disappoints ! We dine at Trattoria Moma a few times a year and always leave satisfied. We had a little hesitation dining here New Years Eve, hoping the service or quality wouldn't be affected due to the busyness of the evening. All was perfect. Starting with a shared salad and two seafood entrees, both recommended by our server when asked. Wait staff was pleasant and not overbearing. A great way to end 2019.
Trattoria Moma is one of our favorite restaurants. We always enjoy the food, friendly staff, and ambiance. We spent our first New Years' Eve there and had the most enjoyable evening! While there was a special menu (that did include some of our regular favorites), the prices were not jacked up like at other restaurants for holidays. A superb meal from appetizers to desserts, and a lovely way to ring in 2020!
The food was outstanding. Just a nice little place with homemade Italian that is not your normal run of the mill Spaghetti and meatball joint. We had lobster ravioli that was light and full of flavor with the right ammount of lobster. The panna cotta was unbelievable, Never had this before and have seen it on various cooking shows, so we decided to try. Made in house, it was one of the best things I have ever eaten!!!!!
We were seated right away. The service was great and the food was delicious.
We chose the Sunday evening, prix fixe menu - and everyone in our party of six raved about the food! You're able to pick your courses from the menu (no specials allowed), and the portions are slightly reduced so you end up with just the right amount of food. We had four different apps, 5 different pastas, and 3 different entrees, and they were ALL very, very good!
I've had several dinners at TM and continue to return. The pasta is varied, made fresh and flavorful. Appetizers also delicious and they generally offer pasta, fish specials. The ambiance is comfortable and intimate for groups of two or more, also BYO. If anything, I'd ask to have a pepper grinder on the table because I enjoy fresh pepper on my pasta and have to ask for it.
Whatever they are doing I hope they continue to do because I love having authentic, fresh Italian food nearby.
Trattoria Moma is one of my favorite restaurants in the Chestnut Hill/Mr. Airy area. I love the food and the wait staff are as nice as can be. Had family down from Northampton MA and they couldn't say even good things about the restaurant. I highly recommend it.
What a treat to have dinner here Christmas night. Menu was a little more limited than usual but plenty of great choices. Best neighborhood Italian ever.
Trattoria Moma is a diamond in the rough!!! The meal was outstanding and our waiter was awesome! I would highly recommend this restaurant.
Excellent food and service, nice atmosphere.
This was our first visit; had trouble finding a dinner reservation on Christmas just 4 days before (my bad).
After reading the reviews we made a reservation through Open Table-easy!
We brought along an Italian wine to accompany our meal.
Everything was superbly prepared. The bread had sesame seeds on top which made this bread extra yummy.
We shared an ample-sized appetizer (gently steamed or sautéed calamari) -delicious and then ate our respective entrees. My spouse scarfed down his veal. My lamb Ossobucco over rice was effectively enough for three meals! We brought the cannoli hone after dinner. They too were delicious.
We’ll return to this neighborhood gem, even though it is a 30 minute drive from our home.
One of the best little Italian restaurants in the city! Good is great, the staff is exceptional!
Annual holiday dinner with friends. Food was excellent and service was attentive. The only negative was the noise level. We had difficulty hearing each other and the wait staff. By the time we left there were only a few occupied tables and the noise level was greatly improved.
delicious food. restaurant a little cold/drafty so bring something warm
Great little place.
The food is delicious. Love that it is a BYO. It can be noisy as it is a small space. Staff is very friendly.
Always a great spot for itialian and love the byob.
Food excellent. Service fine. Noise level very high.
It was excellent as always!
Dinner was delicious. Would definitely go back.
The food was ok, but not great. We each ordered a special and frankly I could have made it better at home. This is a neighborhood spot that I want to like, but this is the second time the food was meh. The service was great and it is lovely to eat in a quiet restaurant but that is not enough to entice me to come back.
Food is very good
We had another wonderful meal at Trattoria Moma. We took 6 friends from out of town there and had an amazing meal. Took another couple this time - same experience. Food was fantastic. Staff could not be more accommodating. Our guests all loved their meal. Will definitely go back again soon.
Decent neighborhood place, economically priced, and lots to eat, but the pastas were overwhelmed by ingredients--to my mind closer to slop than to good Italian food. People feel they got something for their money. That's good. But don't expect the real thing, even real old fashioned Italo/American food from a red sauce joint on Mulberry Street.
perfect spot for cozy dining with consistent food and very nice service
As always, excellent pastas and delicious seafood soup of the day.
Food was delicious, service was pleasant and friendly and we will be back again
We love this place.
Food, service and atmosphere are all outstanding.
Great find in our new neighborhood
