Excellent Italian restaurant with authentic cuisine. Highly recommended!
My friend and I went for the lunch special that was advertized in the Montecito Journal. You have your choice of two items from the three offered: antipasta, pasta, meat/fish. However, it was unclear that you cannot mix a pasta with a fish/meat choice. The antipasta choice must be one of the two choices. I had the minnestrone soup which was bland and my friend had the mixed salad which had next to no dressing. The spaghetti and meatballs were good and that compensated for the first course. A distrubing part of our luncheon experience was our waiter who was extremely rude in explaining the two course option and telling us what we could and could not have. He seemed irritated that we weren't ordering from the luncheon menu, but had opted for the advertized special.
As the courses progressed, he made no attempt to speak with us or inquire about our meal. Each time we politely thanked him when placing our food, but there was never a response to acknowledge our comment. In fact, after placing our order, he didn't speak to us again. Without a doubt, he was and is the rudest waiter either of us has encountered. Fortunately, the personable waiter who seated us ended up bringing our check and listening about our unhappy situation. He clearly understood our concerns and agreed that what we were saying wasn't new information. Mollie needs to lose this waiter - he is a shame to his profession!
Overall, this restaurant is over rated due to the Oprah and Ellen stamp of approval!
Excellent an authentic Italian cuisine !
Very fresh food, diverse menu and great flavors. Friendly service, limited wine list.
It's obvious that this restaurant strives to provide a high quality dining experience. The waiters are polite and respectful. The rules of fine dining are executed. We were enticed by ribollita on their menu, a soup we loved in Tuscany. As vegetarians we were pleased to see decent main course options. The soup, though well flavored, didn't quite live up to our maybe too high expectations. We loved the spinach and ricotta crespelle served with an excellent tomato sauce. The pizza was nothing to rave about. Their tiramisu was a disappointment. The ambience raised our overall experience a few notches.
Everything was great, as always!
Mollie consistently serves a delicious meal. She and the staff are wonderful. Highly recommend!!
Good to great food accompanied with non-existent service. After years of going there, it never changes from the first sentence.
The food and service were excellent. The restaurant has a casual elegance. Nice for a couple or with friends & family. Definitely recommend.
There was no-one to greet us at the door to seat us. Mollie finally passed by and helped us. Seemed to be short on staff.
The food was absolutely amazing! From start to finish, loved the experience of eating here - the staff were friendly and very helpful with my gluten-free needs. The wine was delicious (we now have some new favorites) and the food was absolutely delicious. The picatta was the favorite of the night for my husband and I. The gluten free options were more than most restaurants have and I ended up chosing two dishes because I couldn't pick just one. All in all it was a wonderful experience and we will be back soon.
Excellent restaurant in Montecito. It is very close to the Montecito Inn and we would recommend it to anyone staying there. Pleasant ambiance, quiet surroundings, tables not close together. Service was very good, decor is excellent.
Love going here! Best Italian food and low key atmosphere. Great service but honestly they have the best pasta in town.
The staff was friendly and attentive, and the food was delicious! Would highly recommend.
Service was great, food was amazing!! So good!
Wonderful Caesar Salad and the Turkey Meatballs were very tasty
We each look bed our respective dinners. The wine list is more limited than what is disclosed on the website
Reliably good food, pleasant atmosphere, and very attentive waitstaff.
Fantastic as always
Can't get enough of Mollie's turkey meatballs. I CRAVE them and they never let me down. Always delish.
Although, I enjoyed the food, the staff seemed confused about who was waiting on our table. Not good for a date due to its open floor plan, so it was noisey. Lasagna was good. Might try it again for lunch, but not dinner.
Over the top a different dining experience. Food is not good it is great and served by people who care about hospitality. You won't be strangers long unless you choose to be.
We always love eating here. The fish soup was a special several years ago and I tried it and fell in love. It is THE BEST. As it is not on the daily menu, I always ask if they will make it and they always do. I'm addicted. The table next to us heard us talking about the fish soup with the waiter. They also ordered it and said it was the highlight of their meal.
Everything else we have had here is also very delicious!
The food is always absolutely delicious!!!!! The lasagna is the best meal I’ve ever had. You can’t go wrong with anything you order at Mollies!!!
Fabulous food and a good wine list. Frieendly and efficient service people. My Iyakian friend said “Best meal ever”. Definitely a place for all kinds of occasions.
We have always loved Mollie's since she first began her restaurant. Yesterday however we were verbally attacked by Mollie as we entered her restaurant for what was supposed to be a celebration of Mothers day. She has done this before and it has never been warranted. We tried to look past it before but this time we are done. There are too many wonderful restaurants in our community to go to Mollie's and be treated so badly. We will miss the food but not the poor service and the verbal abuse by Mollie herself.
Excellent new lunch menu but wine list is way over priced.
The evening started with our table not being ready. There is no waiting area especially with the cold weather.
After being seated, the service was friendly and the food came out in an orderly manner.
Our food was excellent but unfortunately, I have to sample the desserts on my next visit.
Nice ambiance and good food quality. Excellent Italian menu and deserts.
Best Italian food in Southern California
Owner is present to great you
We enjoyed our meal and celebrated my birthday. I would definitely go back, and highly recommend this wonderful restaurant to our friends!
Delightful! We always enjoy eating at Mollie’s!
Food was great. Love the atmosphere.
The food itself tasted great. The service, not so great. They only serve wine and beer and the team are very slow even though there were more servers than tables when we were there. A lot of the menu items were sold out and we were not told this at the beginning. Actually, I had to go to the bar and get my own menus then there were large periods of time between being checked on. There was never a check back on the food once it was delivered after a long delay and then the departure process - we were on our own after we paid the check. There was never a farewell or a thank you provided.
Disappointing across the board. Osso Buco was grey, mushy and probably microwaved, looking more like leftover stew. Just about the worst bolognese sauce I have ever eaten, and I lived in Asia for six years! Very limited wine selection and no bar! Service was great but that's the only nice thing I can say. Probably a hot spot 20 years ago when Santa Barbara had no restaurants. Olive Garden would actually be a couple steps UP from this.
Nice, tranquil place to dine. Never felt rushed. Food is dependable and comforting. Lovely neighborhood patrons.
Fantastic...Danica was outstanding.... Met every expectation!
Was disappointed that ravioli had ran out before our 7pm booking. Rest of the food was very good.
Food incredible! Ambiance/design needs professional help.
