This is a wonderful neighborhood gem! The list of specials is as long as their menu and somehow, our waiter kept track of it all. Service was outstanding and the food delicious!
Went with my best friend for my 50th birthday, everything was perfect. Dover sole special was amazing, scallop app was delicious & service was excellent. Can't say how happy I am to live close to this restaurant!!

I've been going to the restaurant for years and was very satisfied but the last two times there were not up to par , the food was ok where it use to be great.
There was a 25 minute wait because of the busy Saturday night. Food was traditional and fresh. Hallibot had a lot of extra sauce and breading on it. Pasta was excellent, a little heavy. Very nice staff, attentive, made you feel like home. Decor with fake flowers a little dated. Wine, espresso, pannacota dessert very nice. Pannacota was a little dry. Overall nice place but you can’t taste the fresh ingredients, food could be a little lighter, for the hype it has it could feel a little less dated.
Outstanding as always. Food is excellent with a varied menu. I would recommend the heirloom tomato salad and the dover sole.
This is a must for those who love Italian cuisine. The menu and numerous specials offers one of the widest ranges I have ever experienced at any restaurant. The food is prepared perfectly and the service is first rate. It is no wonder that Trattoria is always rated very highly by Zagat.
I took my husband here for his birthday.
My risotto was less than good-very bland.
My husband said his lasagna was good, but again, not worth the high prices.
The vanilla creme brulee was fantastic as well as the sambuca espresso and prosecco.
The place is way too overpriced for the quality of food.
I must say that the service is great though. Dan took care of us very well and was incredibly attentive and friendly.
It started with great service until it got very busy that we can't even get another drink. It's still an OK experience however. Food was nothing out of the ordinary.

A little expensive, and a little noisy, however, those are the only drawbacks, and honestly, given what it's like to eat in NYC, they are by no means deal breakers. The food was excellent, the service was impeccable. One of my companions accidentally dropped her knife, and before she could bend over to pick it up, somebody was already there, and had a fresh one at the ready. The specials list is basically a whole other menu, and all the of selections are tempting. Already planning our next visit. Heads up for you booze drinkers - Beer & Wine only.

Seated early with business guest. Hostess staff very polite and accommodating. Server went through menu ‘specials’ - I don’t know how he remembered all the menu items but it was entertaining nonetheless. The special soup was a version of the Italian wedding soup with chicken meatballs- absolutely delicious. The grilled octopus was perfect- just crisp enough and served on a bed of mixed greens with a lite vinaigrette dressing. The Pollo Con Funghi , chicken with mushrooms was served with string green beans and potatoes. Heavenly! Chef Rocco came out to the table and introduced himself to us which was a treat for me and my business guest. Highly recommend this restaurant!
Went in for a early dinner and walking in we were meet by a smiling hostess who took us to our table. Bus boys were quickly filling water glasses putting a bread basket and small dish of pureed sun dry tomatoes on the table and engaging in conversation. The host Vinny picked out a bottle of Red wine for us and it was very good. For starters my wife had the fig salad with prosciutto and I had a stuffed artichoke that was very good. My wife had the Pumpkin Ravioli and I had a wonderful pasta dish with shrimp and andulle sausage in a red sauce. The shrimps were big and tender and the sauce had just the right amount of heat. We were so full we shared a desert which was a chocolate cake with melted chocolate syrup. So good so bad. Rocco the chef owner came to out table and spoke to us for several minutes. We walked out of their knowing that we had a memorable diner. Great food, great service wonderful people. This is what a 5 star restaurant is.

Fabulous restaurant, the food is outstanding and unique. Not your typical Mediterranean menu. Have been there several times and will continue to come back. The service is excellent! Recently was there for a Birthday celebration and our waiter Danny suggested and put together our entire menu and it was delicious and so was the wine he suggested. We are still talking about the food!

Everything was excellent as always! One of my favorites and my go-to for out-of-town visitors.
Wish I had a photo of Rocco's ravioli masterpiece made with egg yolks and ricotta and topped with black truffles in a butter sauce. Don't know how he does it but always a splendid dinner.
Fabulous service, delicious specials, and lovely ambiance before they turn on the TV. We had all specials- stuffed zucchini flowers, pasta with imported cherry tomato sauce, squid ink pasta with lobster, and shrimp stuffed with crab and zucchini. It left no room to sample the homemade tiramisu. Perhaps next time.
The food continues to be excellent.Never had a meal that wasn't.If you haven't stopped by at this Restaurant,you don't know what you are missing.

AMAZING menu, Fabulous meal! Better than some of NYC's best--
We have been here many times,but this the first time we did not enjoy it. The service was slow, the waiter non-attentive and we were seated near a group with 2 screaming children whose parents did not have the sense to take them outside until they calmed down
By far my favorite restaurant. The service is excellent and you always see the owner and Chef Rocco on hand. His chief maître de Vinny takes care of all the diner's need. They have plenty of staff, so you never have to wait on any request. No rushing, the meals are paced for enjoyment. But, the most important part of the restaurant is the consistency of the food. It is always excellent and each dish is prepared exactly the way you had it last time.
Out place for special occasions as well as any night fine dining!

This restaurants staff needs some hospitality training. When i arrived 10 minutes early for my reservation, instead of being greeted with a welcome, the hostess said your reservation is not till 6pm . A restaurant of this supposed caliber should not have any comments like that. The waiter also never came to check on us and instead of coming over with the cheese asked if he should go get any? I've had better service at many other restaurants and it was disappointing.
