Trattoria Diane Ratings and Reviews
I have eaten here several times and have always enjoyed the food and atmosphere. The waitstaff is very professional and the restaurant always feels very warm and inviting.

Food was horrible. Was there for restaurant week. Everyone arround me was picking at the food. Everything was dry and over cooked. The appetizer of fried seafood with vegetables was small overdone shards of food fragments.. The pasta with clams was not Sauced and a few clams that were like rubber bands! I will never be back. Wait server was uninterested when he asked how everything was and we said disappointing. When I saw other diners mumble how dry everything was, I should have left!
I was not very impressed with our meal at Trattoria Diane. We were there for Long Island Restaurant Week. The upscale atmosphere was not matched by the food. My mom and I got the duck, which was flavorless. My grandma's lamb was a bit better, but still not fantastic. The desserts, which we were excited for because the bakery associated with the restaurant is well-known, were mediocre at best. We got the three berry pie, angel food cake, and apple tart. Of the three, the angel food cake was the best, but really could have used a sauce. Meanwhile, the other two were surrounded by unnecessary sauce. The ice cream that came with each pie (which comes as a separate dessert as well) had a strange aftertaste. The best thing we ate was the endive salad as an appetizer.
The food was great. But that was about all that impressed me on this visit. We had a reservation and they still made us wait 20 minutes before seating us. Then it wasn’t until about an hour after we were seated that we got our main dish. They blamed it on Long Island Restaurant Week that that ended 2 hours earlier. No, thanks. I will not be returning anytime soon.
We've been to this restaurant in the past . We have friends that normally couldn't afford to dine here. They were happy it was restaurant week on Long Island. We arrived at 7:10 for our 7:30 reservation. When our waitress came to our table at 7:20 she told us we have to order off the regular menu as they stop taking restaurant week orders at 6:50 on Saturday Night. We asked for the Manager who came over and confirmed that. I was embarrassed and offered to pay the additional charges for our friends . Our friends would not accept that & put their jackets on and wanted to leave. It was getting late and my Wife actually had to plead with him to allow the menu we came for. He finally relented. Perhaps it was my error as I didn't see that notation on your confirm. We like the restaurant , however the decision on the "exception" should not have been an arduous process .
We went this restaurant for "Long Island Restaurant week" and, we found that, their Restaurant week menu was : only few Salad for first course option, the 2nd course(main course) of chicken perm with pasta had a tasteless tomato sauce which, taste like a just open up the can of tomatoes and heat it up. Also, the brick pressed chicken was burned and black with charcoal on top the chicken that dried out the chicken skin instead of crispy/tasty.
We had disappointment at this time.
Took advantage of restaurant week and Diane’s never disappoints. Nice selection and generous portions that go down easily. Full compliment of dessert choices - the plum/almond tart delicious and the berry pie as always great. We had the duck and salmon both well prepared, and my favorite roasted beet salad We always enjoy our meal at Diane’s. The staff very attentive and for a very busy evening we did not feel rushed.
My friend and I went to Trattoria Dian for Reasturant Week. I can't answer to the value at other times.
We totally enjoyed our meal, there were plenty of choices. The duck was Crispy, the sauce delicious and of course dessert, from their own bakery, was exceptional. Our waitress was attentive and happily accommodated our requests.
Dining experience was disappointing which is contrary to many other dinners there. If your table is upstairs (Siberia) you should be informed. Our guest could not climb stairs. They did accommodate us but not warmly. The Yankee pot roast came smothered in an overpowering red tomato sauce, not what was expected. We were crammed it because of restaurant week. Everyone exiting past our table kept apologizing.
Top Scores for this Outstanding restaurant. Everything is exquisite! An upscale spot with the warm and inviting atmosphere reminiscent of an authentic Italian trattoria. The menu is well chosen and the food expertly prepared and presented. The fine service of the staff completes the experience.
First time here and really enjoyed it. The specials were great on the Friday night that we went and both of us ordered our entrees and appetizer off the specials menu too. The chef/kitchen even broke our appetizer on to two separate plates so we didn't have to. My husband also said his espresso shot looked like a double. We'll definitely be back!
We arrived for Sunday dinner at 4:30 to have a nice quiet dining experience and weren't disappointed. The grilled shrimp w/arugula and the roasted fig w/prosciutto and greens were both very tasty. The fettuccini bolognese pasta was fresh and the meat richly flavored. The desserts from their bakery are excellent. The wait staff very good as usual. We prefer not to use the valet parking, although I can see why some would prefer this option.
we go here about every 5-6 weeks and always enjoy the food and atmosphere.
this time, the branzio was not properly deboned making it a poor dining experience for a friend who drove quite a distance to join us. the brussel sprouts side dish and portion of ice cream were both relatively small for the price. all the other dishes were superb.
What a treat! Seated downstairs and the room was warm and cozy. We arrived early so it was quite quiet when we arrived. Had it been a little warmer, sitting outside would have been lovely. Prompt, attentive service. Bread, as expected, was delicious. (If you get a chance, go next door to the bakery.) Fig salad was a little heavy on the arugula but the figs were out of this world. Stuffed zucchini flowers also very good. My friend said the duck was the best she'd ever had. Some changes to the other entrees were accommodated with no problem. The soft shell crabs got rave reviews, even though there was nothing but tomatoes with them. Scallops beautifully prepared. We shared the chocolate mousse pie and loved it. They remembered to put a candle in the pie in honor of a birthday. A little pricey but absolutely wonderful!
