Great ambiance, great service it is always a special experience.
We love Diane’s! The food and service are consistently excellent. It’s a perfect place for a quiet dinner.
We had a great meal and service was attentive. Definitely coming back! Excellent desert menu, too!
All around great!!
Diane’s zucchini blossoms are consistently the best around. My lamb chops were excellent and my husband truly enjoyed his lobster roll. No other restaurant or bakery can surpass Diane’s when it comes to desserts.
The restaurant is very plain. Service is excellent, food is delicious and pricing is appropriate. We will come back
Excellent food and service, always have interesting specials and the summer menu is great
Great cocktails. The soft shell crabs were excellent!
Classy, refined dining. The chopped salad was fresh and not of one flavor note. Halibut and skirt steak entrees were equally delicious.
The food was great. Everything was good. I removed a point for service was a bit slow. Otherwise I would still return.
This was a birthday dinner for my daughter and I noted it in my reservation. She is a vegetarian and we chose this restaurant because it was the site of her rehearsal dinner a number of years ago and it featured many vegetable appetizers. Our expectations were high. Unfortunately our experience was disappointing. Our waiter seemed unfriendly and disinterested. It took a while to exchange a dirty wine glass for a clean one. Our appetizers were good but the one vegetarian main course was bland and boring. We only ordered one dessert and no recognition of a birthday appeared. We left feeling underwhelmed. Our past experience of friendly and competent staff was just a memory.
Haven’t been here in some time and thought we give it a go. Food wasn’t awful just blah, no flavor or excitement.
Garden was very nice and you can tell they have had some turnover on their waitstaff.
We ordered three apps, zucchini blossoms, octopus and artichoke. Super basic with no flavor (had to add salt!)
I ordered the Veal Milanese, again very blah (NOT BAD) just blah. Desserts were good.
Kitchen needs some help in my opinion
We love Diane’s. We have eaten there regularly since they’ve opened. Food is terrific
Service is better in a sports bar. This has been an on going problem for years. Management can not blame the poor service on the lack of available employees due to Covid. Management needs to train the staff.
Reaching over plates, grabbing plates while we are still eating, and then continue to to try to grab plates after we told them we are not done. Waiters aimlessly walking as if they are trying to kill time and never inquiring about the meal. We needed to flag them down, for a drink, for coffee, for dessert, for the check.
The upstairs where we have not sat in a few years was not pleasant. The art was the quality of a continuing education art school student. It did not improve the rooms ambience it lowered it. The restaurant had a weathered wood table with a white chipped and rusted painted medal garden pail which had flowers. This maybe ok decorations for outside but it was an additional eyesore. Diane lost attention to details and is failing to provide overall customer service and a enjoyable dining atmosphere.
The dinner was great and everyone enjoyed what they ordered!
Delicious! Beautiful room
Great food at Diane’s. I had the soft shell crab special and it was delicious!
On July 11 this year, after checking out the Menu for Trattoria Dianne in Old Roselyn, we decided to dine there. According to their site on Open Table, they offered a very interesting Sunday Supper Menu for $29.95 and a very exciting, extensive regular menu. We hadn’t been there for several years and had pleasant memories of our prior experiences. However, when we were given the Menu, we were told that they no longer offered the dinner we had come for. When researching the Menu prior to making our reservation, the a la carte menu was very extensive. The menu we were given was not. I ordered the skirt steak, not a very exciting choice, but there was nothing else I eat on the menu for my particular tastes and diet. My companion ordered the duck. Although, we had come early and the restaurant was not busy, it took very long for our food to come. When it finally arrived, I was served a breaded veal chop! Had to be changed of course. Meanwhile as I waited for my order to be corrected, my companion had to begin eating his duck or it would get cold. The duck was awful. It was very dry and tasteless, with no glaze or sauce to make up for its dryness. When my steak came, it was fine, but by that time my companion was no longer eating. So I was eating while he just sat and waited for me to finish. Not a very pleasant dining experience.
I noticed at an adjoining table, the diners there had to send back pasta they had ordered for some reason. The only high spot during this dinner was the pear tart. That was good. Despite the errors and misinformation, we were not offered anything to compensate for the problems we encountered. Most fine restaurants would offer a dessert or something to make up for a series of errors such as we encountered. We paid our bill and left, never to return again.
We waited for 40 minutes before our drinks were served. We waited about 20 min after that for our order to be taken. Service was awful. Gnocchi was dough-it needed to be boiled more. Couldn’t wait to get out of there. Didn’t bother waiting around for a dessert menu. Too bad-I had wanted to try out Trattoria Diane for a while. Not worth returning; there are so many nicer restaurants around.
Food was very good. Mixed up my drink order twice. Nice atmosphere but sometimes hard to hear people at my table because it was noisy.
This restaurant was VERY disappointing. We had a 7:30 reservation and as soon as we sat down, the waiter came over to take our order. We told him we weren’t ready yet and he said he would return in a few minutes. Well, the few minutes turned into 45 minutes! We had three orders of their dinner special of soft-shell crabs and after taking all the orders, he returned from the kitchen saying that there were no more left. We were flabbergasted because first of all, since it was a summer special there should have been plenty on hand especially for a Saturday night! It was oy 8:15. When we asked to speak to a manager, it took a while before he came to our table and when he did, he could not give a damn! He tried to make it our fault that we didn’t tell the waiter to hold three orders of soft-shell crabs as soon as we walked in! What a joke!! Who knew what we were in the mood for until we perused the menu! This is not our first rodeo! We have been to many restaurants and honestly, whenever there is a chance that a restaurant is running low, a good establishment tells its customers, once seated, that if they are thinking of ordering (whatever item is running low), they should put their order in immediately or ask to have an order held so that they will be able to have it. It is not up to the customer to know what is running low in their kitchen! He did not even apologize or show good faith in any way. He did offer a free round of drinks, which we said was too late because we already had drinks and we didn’t want any more. Needless to say, this is one restaurant that we will never return to nor would we ever recommend!! Beware. And on top of that, the food was not even very good.
limited menu but everything on it is prepared to perfection. Summer specials are wonderful, especially the soft shell crabs.
Wonderful evening with outdoor dining. We loved the new menu.
Service was slow and we waited 30 minutes to be seated, although we arrived on time for our reservation
But food was delicious and definitely worth the wait. Had a fabulous dinner. Looking forward to going back
Delicious food great ambiance
Always enjoy the food and ambiance here so much!
We went there for our anniversary along with some friends. The food and the service were excellent. Our friends were there for the first time and loved it. We plan to go back soon with other friends.
Outstanding as always, new summer menu is fantastic.
We have not been here in many years and we are sorry we weren't. We had a delicious meal and look forward to coming back soon!!
Great night! Excellent service and food!!!!
LOVE this place! The food is consistently wonderful and so is the service. They have a lovely outdoor patio and we ate dinner last night in the rain but did not get wet at all! We have been coming to this restaurant for 25 years and have had parties there as well.
So happy to be back dining at Diane’s. Everyone is very nice, wonderful service and the food is always delicious.
The outdoor space makes you feel like you are in the country.......
Lovely outdoor area. Great food
The food was delish! We sat outside and it was lovely.
We will be back👋👋👋
Food was outstanding! As was service. Would have liked if the wait staff had asked a neighboring table to turn down their cell phone. My husband did, and they apologized, no harm done. But I wish he was not the one to have had to do it.
I will return, it was really lovely.
We sat outside and the ambiance was very nice despite all the table being full. We had a waiter in training and the service was a bit slow. We waited to have our order taken and for our entrees. The Cesar salad was ordinary but the roasts duck and cheese raviolis were as good as was the chocolate mousse pie.
I would return here to dine again.
Food was very good. Servers we’re understaffed. Very slow service.
Outdoor dining under the tent was wonderful. The heaters went on as the evening went on and we were very comfortable. Dinner was fantastic!
Other than the table we were first offered, ( but declined, due to its awful location in the middle of the doorway) everything was lovely!
