Nice location. Relatively easy parking close by. Good welcome, seating and prompt service.
Chopped salad and Tuna Tartare were excellent. The bread/cracker offering needs work.
Trattoria Diane is consist in always providing a lovely dining experience. From the service to the food to the ambience, this restaurant is a wonderful place for dining.
The Sunday prix fixe is a good deal, and the food at this restaurant is always good. We missed some of the old choices such as lamb shank and scallops but enjoyed the perennial duck and the new fig appetizer. Desserts were limited, and they ran out of the one I wanted. I luckily ended up with the pear sorbet, which was scrumptious.
We frequent Diane’s often and always enjoy it. This past Saturday n
The evening was perfect. We met friends whom we haven't seen in several months. It is good that we came early (6:30) because by 7:30 we were practically shouting in order to be heard.
Having said that, the food and service were excellent. We probably would have stayed for coffee and more conversation, but we ate dessert quickly and left because the noise level was uncomfortable.
I know this is a popular restaurant that is high in demand. We were seated immediately. We never felt rushed. We had terrific service. The food was outstanding. So often restaurants can slip on the above once they become popular. I was so impressed at an overall great experience. The meatballs and berry pie...to die for.
Had zucchini stuffed with goat cheese as one of our appetizers - was excellent. The other salad was OK. Soft shell crab was very good as was the pasta, but the yellowfin tuna was a bit dry and lacked flavor. Although this is as much a bakery as a restaurant, the desserts were somewhat disappointing. The coconut cake could have been moister. Service was good and we certainly were not rushed.
Quality food in a pleasant environment. Cordial service with no sense of being rushed. An enjoyable dinner with a small but varied menu.
The restaurant did not acknowledge our anniversary although I had indicated on the reservation and in person that we were celebrating.
Otherwise, food and service were good not great.
Trattoria Diane never disappoints! I was raised in Roslyn and grew up in Diane's bakery. Texas is home, but every time we are on LI, we never miss the opportunity to return for a meal at Diane's. A pleasure always.
Wonderful meal, excellent service. Was not rushed and it was busy. The food was outstanding.
Hadn’t been there in years. It was too stuffy. Back twice this summer, will recover it. Ambiance has changed, not stuffy at all. Updated, refreshed, friendly atmosphere. Can’t wait to go back again
Been coming here for years, never disappointed except for this time. Service, ambiance wonderful as always however very disappointed in the food. Fettuccini Bolognese? No, bland meat sauce at best. Salmon cooked perfectly but fishy taste, that should never be. French lentils very hard and tasteless. Sorry but it just was not what I’ve come to expect and depend on from Diane’s. I’ve had both dishes many other times, always exceptional.
I raved about your place to my date, very disappointed.
We were greeted promptly on entering and were brought to a table for 4 of us in time for the excellent early sitting before 6 p.m. The menu for the prix fixe meal is varied and a great value. Service was timely, and we ordered 4 different items which were all excellent, with good portions. Overall, an enjoyable dining experience.
A wonderful meal in a splendid setting (outside)
Great waiter & lovely menu. We visit TD once every month.
Food was delicious. Restaurant is lovely. The outside area looked very nice but we decided to sit inside.
Drinks all ice no liquor.
A very good place on my short list of places when I visit family on LI in Nassau County.
Food is really good, servers attentive but a little detached on our recent visit. Nevertheless, all the entrees were excellent. Good pours for the cocktails.
Not a lot of character with respect to decor, but the food makes up for it.
Try Diane's bakery next door during the day. Awesome (but pricey) pies, tarts, cookies etc. They serve lunch as well.
The best restaurant in the Old Town of Roslyn
One of the best restaurants in the Region
lovely restaurant, great service - the bouillabaisse is highly recommended
I’ve been to this restaurant a few times and it never disappoints. Excellent service and the food is delicious. If you get there early, the price fixe menu is a great value. If I lived closer, I would come here more often.
Diane’s is classic, consistent and consistently wonderful.
This is the 2nd visit and the food was excellent across the board. Prepared as requested and the ingredients were all top notch. Nice wine by the glass selection. Attentive but reserved service. Paid attention when as required. Nice go to restaurant where you know what you are going to get. Always nice to have those standards available.
We always enjoy our dining experience at Diane’s. It was particularly nice since we had early reservations at 5:15 and sat downstairs by the window adjacent to their outdoor dining patio with natural light and a view. We had the dining room to ourselves for almost 1/2 hour. The food was delicious wonderful fresh Burrata with asparagus and tomato with pesto and olive oil. Grilled warm octopus over a fresh bed of greens The summer menu offered soft shell crabs with tomatoes delicious and my husband had the tuna perfectly cooked as ordered. For dessert we shared one of my favorites the three berry pie with vanilla ice cream. Will definitely go back and probably at the same time.
This was our second time at the restaurant. We were seated promptly. The wait staff was very attentive.
We sat upstairs which was very noisy and made it hard to have a conversation with our friends. Three of us had the Branzino and it was very tasty but the portions were a little small for the price charged. The fourth person had the Tuna and liked it very much.
Appetizer of zucchini blossoms with goat cheese overpowering goat cheese, ricotta would make better sense. Duck was over cooked and dry. Spaghetti Carbonara was awful, lacking creaminess and swimming in a sauce that broke. Desserts were the high point. Needs a new chef
"I love the relaxed feel of this place – like a comfortable dining room in a friends home. I definitely would return to try more dishes. The potato-leek soup was amazing and the Bibb lettuce salad was refreshing. The table was split on the monkfish – one person thought it was great, but another felt that the tastes didn't quite mesh. Everyone loved the flat iron steak. Service was well-timed and friendly, wines were affordable."
Delicious dinner, great service.
The zucchini flowers were out of this world
Appetizer and dessert super delicious. Duck tough but exchanged for another dinner. Beverages pricey
I had made a mistake and booked for 4 when I meant 6. the person in charge was more than accommodating We wound up at a lovely round table for 6 (which is easy for conversation). and had a great night!!
Past experience was excellent. This time was disappointing. Seated immediately and waited for menus, waited for wine. Out of veal chop at 7pm.
Food was very average. Service was horrible - the waiter was totally disinterested in us and got on of the appetizer orders wrong. Small, cozy restaurant with terrible acoustics. Loud.
Food was delicious! Loved the atmosphere- pleasant and enough room between tables for relaxed conversation.
Excellent and amazing dining experience
Great veal chop, and great carbonara, great mixed drinks
Great meal great service a wonderful Thursday night dinner out the fixed price is amazing and includes Diane’s wonderful desserts well done!
Nice menu selection and wonderful to eat outside. Although there were other people eating outdoors, we felt like we were forgotten. The unfriendly maitre dee also served us and it became late so we bypassed coffee and tea.
Loved this restaurant. Great attentive staff. Wonderful food. Beautiful ambiance. Will return often
The food was bland, overpriced and disgusting. Dining there is not worth the time or money.
