Great place to go before a bruins or Celtics game. So fast and delicious food!! I ordered and app and dinner and finished my meal in 30 minutes of sitting. Arancini special was amazing!!!
Excellent meal. Attentive service. My wife had the carbonara and I had the veal pizzaiola. Both were excellent. Smaller quaint place with nice ambiance on the side away from the TV. Will go back.
Seated near door which was left open periodically and opened briefly constantly. So cold /drafty
Great food! Wonderful homemade pasta. Delicious food and great menu!
Monica's is a Great dining experience, we had a party of 4 and everyone enjoyed their meals very much. We sat at the counter overlooking the cooking, what a experience. Watching the chefs perform there magic with all of the orders. I highly recommend dining at Monica's. We will return, this is the 4th time we have dined here and I have brought aprox 20 different people and everyone has enjoyed their meals immensely.
it was our first time here since they remodeled. We could not have been happier with the experience. The service was exceptional, the Wine was a great value and the food was simply amazing. We started with the Antipasto and it was a meal in itself. I had the Lamb Chops and my wife had the Lobster Pasta. Both were excellent. Cant wait to get back there!
Lively and delicious Italian joint in the North End. Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had!
Wonderful dinner, spectacular service and delicious food!
Loved it. Staff was great. Room great. Good delicious. Italian at its best. The real deal.
First time back since the expansion and was pleasantly surprised - food was as good as always, service was great and the new space, while not as charming, is terrific
The food was really good and it had a nice, cozy vibe. Since it is a small place, it got very noisy very fast. We were less than a foot away from the table next to us, and there was one larger group of 5 people 2 tables over who were very rowdy. Overall, great restaurant with great food and in a nice central location in the North End. I would definitely eat there again.
Delicious Chicken Marsala , stuffed courgette flowers and tiramisu. Quick , friendly service . Highly recommended.
Gnocchi special was delicious! Will definitely be back pre or post Bruins game.
For the North End the pasta was just good, not great and we were sitting inches away from the next table and they had loud music on so I had to almost yell to hear the person at my table.
My husband wanted to bring associates from Washington DC to a North End Italian Restaurant that had good food, a casual atmosphere, and a fun ambience. Trattoria Di Monica hit all those points with it’s unique charm and delicious home made pasta entrées. The wine and beer selections were great, as well. Everyone had a fabulous meal and they want to return on their next trip to Boston.
Great food great service and great atmosphere!
Parents Weekend Visit! Had the lobster fettuccini special—
First time here and will be back!!
Date night always better than ever. We’ve been coming here for years and hopefully many more!
I have been to this restaurant many times and look forward to returning.
We came to Monica's as we were passing through the North End and decided to try it. We were pleased with the ambiance, menu selections, home made (on premises) pasta, and service. We have been recommending it to friends.
We went expecting a tradition Italian experience but was quite the opposite. They played rap/hip hop music and it was so loud date and I had to yell at each other to hear. Waitress even had to bend down to hear us. Four people asked us within a two minute period if they could take our plates before we were done. Hate being rushed. We got seated at a super tiny table up against wall, felt awkward. Bathroom was a mess with stuff all over the floor. Staff just standing around. You would have thought they would have attended to it. You can’t charge the prices you do and have a bathroom nastier than Faniel Hall. Was too bad as food was good. We probably will stick with our other favorites that have an more enjoyable atmosphere for conversation.
We had a group of 8 after a company Board meeting. The restaurant came with high recommendations and it did not disappoint. Thanks for the exceptional meal and dining experience. We will be back!!
The place is comfortable and cozy.
Everything we ate was amazing, best dish was the rack of lamb.
Overall highly recommended.
As always, food was great. The new layout has too many tables and not enough servers.
Went on the recommendation of a friend and glad we did. Excellent food. Service left a lot to be desired, but we weren’t in a rush so no big deal. The seafood fradiablo was amazing and worth the price.
We were seated quickly however tables seated after us were served with bread/water/appetizers/and drinks before us. We were patient but then had to approach and ask another server. Food was fantastic and that was our saving grace. We would have stayed longer but again the service was slow and we just closed out and walked to another restaurant for after dinner drinks.
Food not as good as it used to be, but the ambiance is still pleasant.
We are from CT and come here whenever in Boston. We have built many family memories around special events and your amazing food ! This time was our daughters weddding and came with friends from TX. Can’t wait to be back.
Sorely disappointed in my fave restaurant in the North End. Appetizers of arancini and dates were on point and delicious. Pastas were all bland and uninteresting and I could have made them myself. Not the hand made deliciousness I’ve had here before. Most disappointing was service. Long waits, especially for drinks, was frustrating. I finally received my refill of a cocktail right with the check. And was charged for it. This after 2 reminders that I had been waiting for it since the pasta arrived. When the other occupants of the table arrived, they were never asked for their drink orders, they were finally given with their dinner order, 20 minutes and no one to flag down. Waitstaff all chatting in one spot when I went to the loo - maybe this was where they were while we were waiting to order drinks? I will return as I can’t believe with the very nice remodel things have gone to hell in a handbasket, and I want to have another order of those dates.
We had a wonderful meal, everything was delicious. I made my reservation on OpenTable noting that it was to celebrate my boyfriend's birthday and we were given the best table in the window.
Slow service. Fair food. Very loud. Charged for unordered wine.
Food was good and fresh.
‘This one of our favorite spots. We took a group of 12, which is a large group for this restaurant. They were very accommodating to us and helped resolve some last minute changes. Remarkable considering it was also Saturday evening during the Feast of St. Anthony. Food was superb, and enjoyed by all.
Fabulous food with great service!
Four of us ate at Monica's last week. The service was wonderful and the food was darn near perfect. We each had a different entree and all of us thought they were great. We will definitely go back. However, two of us ordered a Negroni (Italian restaurant, right?) First time the bartender used Aperol instead of Campari, then she left out the sweet vermouth. And, the noise level was really high. Made conversation almost impossible. So, the short of it is the food was terrific to the point we will return, but they could improve in the bar service and noise level.
This is a great little spot in the North End and I would definitely come back. I had the spinach gnocchi which wasn't my favorite because it wasn't as tender as some gnocchi but the sauce was great and everything else was also great. The portions were very generous and the service was excellent.
Our second time at Monica’s....the food is fabulous and the ambiance is cozy and inviting. A late Sunday lunch on a beautiful day was a quieter time to enjoy the food and conversation. They had a small lunch menu in addition to the full regular menu. It is not inexpensive but for homemade pasta, we felt like it was well worth the price. My mother-in-law who usually has a dainty appetite finished off her whole serving of Pappardelle alla Bolognese. I ordered the same dish that I had on my last visit, Gnocchi di Spinaci al Ragu di Maiale (spinach gnocchi with a pork ragout sauce) and it did not disappoint. It is a small restaurant, I would recommend making a reservation especially for dinner seating.
