   Really great food; not a place for a romantic dinner since you’re packed in tight and the noise level is pretty high. Great team service and excellent preparations—zucchini blossoms, Parmesan fries, bolognese. Would certainly go back.

   The restaurant was way too loud. It was difficult to talk to my wife is just on the other side of a small table for me. I did not like my gambieri con funghi . It has very little taste.

   There for a date night and left pretty underwhelmed. The place was empty on Thursday night so there was no life to the restaurant and the wait staff was waiting around to do stuff and be busy. Pretty expensive for Italian food.

   They are great and unpretentious. The atmosphere and the food are amazing, Great price and they made me a chicken dish that I asked for that wasn't on the menu. The wait staff is INCREDIBLE, fast, polite and efficient. Take a walk around for an authentic cannoli at MODERN PASTRY and you'll be in love!

    We enjoyed dinner for my husbands birthday and had an amazing time. We sat at a table for two which at first seemed a little tight but in actuality was it’s own romantic vibe. Our server was the sweetest, drinks were on point (spicy mango margarita, captain and coke and espresso martinis), bruschetta appetizer was delicious and chicken parm penne alla vodka was #chefskiss. It was a perfect date night.

    We were excited to try a new - to us-restaurant in the North End and Monica’s seemed like an excellent choice after reading reviews. The disappointment came when we were told there was no veal, scallops or lobster available. After we ordered we were told this not before! I was taking my husband for a belated birthday dinner and the one dish he loves is veal. So he ordered the bolognese which was very good and I had the shrimp scampi which also very good. The restaurant is very cute and cozy but besides the music over the speakers there was competing different music from the open kitchen. I would have given a better review if there were better choices to pick from.

    The food is mediocre compared to other places in the north end. Overall is just ok and overpriced. If it were amazing I would say it’s worth it but it’s just not there

    2 hours and we never got our food and told them when we sat down we had a show to go to. They never gave us the food and then offered us to have it “to go”. We left with no food and no explanation. BAD!

    Monica's is my favorite North End restaurant - we eat here often and recommend it frequently. Always fun, fresh, and delicious - never had a bad meal or a poor experience.

    I haven’t been here in over a year since they expanded and it was just as good as a year ago!! Service was exceptional! I got the scallops with a pesto cream sauce over squid ink homemade fettuccine and it was to die for!!!! Definitely recommend!

    We dined at Monica's on a Thursday night and it was full, and quite loud. The waitstaff was excellent and accommodated our time schedule (we were dining pre-concert) and special requests on the food we ordered. The food was delicious and well presented. I had the gnocchi with chicken instead of sausage, which was great. The spinach pasta another in our party had was excellent as well. Our only complaint is that the room is so lively that we had to shout in order to hear one another--some sound baffling would be a big help! We will definitely go back, despite the noise, as everything else was wonderful.

    The atmosphere was not what we were expecting or hoping for. The staff let a table take the iPad that controlled music, and they were playing it WAY too loud, and the music was more fitting for a night club, not a North End Restaurant around Christmas time. There was also someone who was visibly intoxicated that was interacting with this table and bumped into ours while we were eating. We notified the front desk about the music, which helped for about 5 minutes and then went back to the same. The food was incredible, and our server was amazing, which makes this a difficult review to write, as we would come back for that. The atmosphere ruined our experience.

    The bolognese was the best I've ever had. The bruschetta appetizer and carbonara were also excellent. Great service and a lovely dining room. But when you read reviews about it being loud, they aren't kidding. SO LOUD. Could barely hear my dining partner.

    This was my first time at Monica’s. The restaurant is gorgeous and beautifully decorated for the holidays. It is a cozy, comfortable atmosphere. The service was impeccable- from being seated promptly, to receiving our food, etc. Our server was friendly and attentive. The food was incredible!! The burrata bruschetta was the best I’ve ever had, and my family and I dine out at Italian places quite frequently. It was delicious! I had the bolognese, which honestly, was the best I’ve ever had. The parpadelle was cooked perfectly and the bolognese was fantastic. My friend had the cheese ravioli which she said was delicious. I will definitely go back and highly recommend Monica’s Trattoria!!

    Fabulous Italian dining in the North end. Great ambiance and all the classics you would want on the menu. And they take reservations, even better! Can get a bit loud if restaurant is full and music is playing loud.

    This was my second time going back to Monica’s and it was absolutely delicious. I recently went in October and had been dying to get back there because it was so good. The food and drinks were awesome. Wait stuff is super friendly as well.
