After a long day at Universal Studios, the pasta and salad bar was exactly what we needed. The ability to pick your pasta, sauce, and toppings meant no complaining from the kids and plenty of food for tired and hungry adults and kids.

Food was sub-par. I would say it's big box all you can eat cruise buffet quality. We definitely didn't get what we paid for. Our service was excellent, that's the only redeeming quality.

Good selection of veggies for pastas. Just need to keep them replenished. Mushrooms and spinach bowls were empty and not refilled.
Large portions of pasta so not many will go back to try different varieties.

This is the basic hotel restaurant at Portofino. Tile floors, open architecture, plain wooden tables. The wings were among the best we've ever had. The pasta bar was pretty standard, but you can't go wrong making your own dish. Where I had my issues was with the more pricey options. We had the horseradish crusted filet with shrimp and it was a great disappointment. The filet was over tenderized to the point of being mushy and the shrimp were undercooked. This can happen, but sending the shrimp back for refiring resulted in shrimp that were STILL undercooked. This was the most disappointing $200 meal I've had in quite some time. The service was excellent and my kids did love the pasta bar. One son had a cheeseburger and it was EXCELLENT.

So I guess the take home message on Trattoria del Porto is (at least when we were there) that the basic food was quite excellent, but they overreached with the fancier fare.

Great service - the only disappointment was that we had understood from the website when booking (and this was one reason for selecting this location for our family Xmas lunch) that Prosecco/Mimosas would be included in the $65 per head price. When we arrived we were told it was not so we ended up having to pay $38 for a bottle on top of the quite expensive buffet price - we didn't want to make too much fuss and spoil our Xmas lunch occasion. Otherwise we had no complaints - service and food were great and everyone enjoyed their time.

The food could taste better. Some salads were empty. No special meal for Christmas night and the employees were looking anxious to close the restaurant and leave.

This restaurant is terrible! They should close down and start over. First, you need a decent chef ! We ordered our food and everything came out wrong, not to mention they forgot our order so it took 45 minutes just to get food. The manager and waiter were very nice, we felt sorry for them. When desert came, the gelato had a piece of plastic in it, glad I did not choke on it! I didn’t even bother the waiter with that, what’s the point? They know they have serious issues there, sorry but I will not be back!!

This was our first time dining at this particular restaurant and we had a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable, and the food quality was very impressive. Our server, Samantha, was positively amazing. We were very pleased with our experience and will return again soon.

The pasta bar, where a chef cooks your own creation, was very good. Portions were huge. The antipasto and salad bars were well done. Service was impeccable.

The food was good but it was hard to hear the staff. When we went there were only two characters that would rotate during our visit. With Disney you would get a minamum of four characters. With the growing collection of characters that Universal has, you would think that they would offer more. All in all its not a bad place but not one worth visiting on every trip.

We were at the restaurant with my 10 year old niece and 12 year old nephew and while it was "kid" friendly, we adults also felt like we were catered to and the atmosphere was comfortable and relaxing. The food options were good and we all tried different things. Loved making our own pasta dinner combinations!

We went on a Friday night for the universal characters and it was everything we hoped for. The kids loved the characters. They were very interactive character visits with a minion and gru. The adults loved the cook to order pasta bar! Highly recommend!

Really dissatisfied with service and advertised character dining, which we pre booked and was advertised as minions plus others, however only Homer Simpson turned up, 3 very upset children who thought they were dining with minions as the suggested adverts, not worth it would'nt recommend, a complete waste of time

This place is over rated, service was appalling where the waitress forgot our starter, forgot the soda refill she offered and was generally conspicuous by her absence. For the extortionout bill at the end this was a first and last visit.

Was here on vacation with family. Was a bit pricey but it's a resort, expect to pay higher prices. Food was excellent with a breakfast and dinner buffet that my family enjoyed. Both breakfast buffet and the dinner pasta bar were excellent with a chef preparing meals as you like them. Both dining experiences were enjoyable.

What a gem at the Portofino Hotel. Great experience, fantastic service and the food was vibrant and fresh. The whole staff was eager to please and since you can create your own pasta at the sautéed station, this is a crowd pleaser - the whole family was very happy and I definitely recommend a little time away from the parks so you can enjoy this place. (Did I mentioned the price was a steal???)

This restorant is a scam. We made 15000 km for a dinner with carácter at 9 pm. When we arrive there was nothing not even a picture of a character . And mr Gavin Medd not good for a manager job. Said because maybe there was a rain the character didn't stay. So he said that that don't care and it's not a restaurant issue . So like a wrote, he don't care.
When I made a reservation 30 Dias ago, they didn't said which reason can suspend the presentation. So this restaurant is a scam.
