Excellent meal-selecting ingredients and then watching our pasta being prepared was enjoyable.

Our server and chef were quite personable.

Would definitely come back on our next visit to Orlando

The hostess was rude the waiter was inattentive.
Food wise, I had the Land and Sea-- steak listed as horseradish crusted but there was no crust or any flavor, just a limp filet that was no better than one cooked at home. The shrimp were dried out on the edges like it had sat under a heat lamp. The sauce/gravy that was poured over the dish was equal or lower in quality that what you'd get at KFC. My husband had a pasta dish in which the sauce was more like a broth that sat at the bottom of the bowl. Olive Garden does a better job and I'm pretty sure everything there is microwaved.
We won't be back unless it's for an inexpensive sandwich at lunch just so we can sit outside in the courtyard of Portofino Bay.

We dined at this restaurant for my Birthday which happens to be on Valentines Day. My husband and I arrived at the restaurant for our reservation. We wanted to dine in the outdoor seating area but we were told it would be a 25 minute wait even though there were several available tables. My husband and I decided not to wait and reluctantly said we would sit inside. The dining room was not very busy only about 10 tables were occupied. The host seated us at a table next to a table that had 3 unattended toddlers that were screaming and crying. Their parents appeared to both be at the pasta bar and left them unattended. We asked to be seated at another table and preferably not near small children since we were celebrating a special occasion. We waited for about 10 minutes and the host resat us at table next to the only other table in the restaurant with small children. We decided it wasn't worth moving again. We were not greeted by a server for about 25 minutes, they were understaffed except for the 4 hosts standing up front talking. The server finally came over she took our drink order and brought our wine, we placed our order but we did not receive bread service for 20 minutes. The entrees arrived about 30 minutes later, I ordered the beef short rib, it was so cold it was in-editable. My husband's food was hot but he said the ocean bass was terrible however, he was able to eat the 3 scallops and the saffron rice cake. After a while the server came by the table and I explained my food was ice cold and the fish was terrible. She apologized and had the manager come over who said she was sorry and "would fire another one immediately" and bring more scallops to replace my husband's fish. My entree arrived to the table about 20 minutes later, it was barley warm but had a good flavor. They completely forgot the scallops for my husband which he never received. In the end the manager comped the meal but the whole experience was terrible and ruined my special day.

Trattoria Del Porto was a lovely experience for my fiancée and myself on Valentine's Day. Given that the weather was moderate, we chose to sit outside. By happenstance, that evening at Portofino Bay there were opera singers serenading us from a Balcony of the resort for the first 20 minutes or so, before they departed for the evening.

Overall, we had a very enjoyable meal at a restaurant with fantastic ambiance. I will absolutely return, not least of which because I want to try the "Pasta Cuccina" meal, with the made-to-order pasta buffet.

My only two complaints about the evening:
1) As we were seated outdoors (which, again, we chose) any time a passerby was smoking, the stench of their cigarettes invaded our space, taking away from the wonderful atmosphere.
2) I ordered what they call on the menu the "kimchi burger". However, there could not have been more than 2 or 3 shreds of cabbage on that burger, scarcely enough to even taste. Something called a "Kimchi burger" should tasted distinctly Korean. The burger tasted fine for what it was, but it was not remotely Korean, Kimchi-flavored, or even spicy.

My family have eaten here whenever we stay at Universal Orlando Lowe’s hotel and resorts. They pasta bar is the best but leave room for soup (split pea ) that night was delish along with the salad and caprese salad. You pick your ingredients for your pasta. The cooks preparing your pasta are fabulous and will make you any type you like. I had a vodka sauce made along with linguine and it was mouth watering. Did I mention the rolls OMG !

After a long day at Universal Studios, the pasta and salad bar was exactly what we needed. The ability to pick your pasta, sauce, and toppings meant no complaining from the kids and plenty of food for tired and hungry adults and kids.

Food was sub-par. I would say it's big box all you can eat cruise buffet quality. We definitely didn't get what we paid for. Our service was excellent, that's the only redeeming quality.

Good selection of veggies for pastas. Just need to keep them replenished. Mushrooms and spinach bowls were empty and not refilled.
Large portions of pasta so not many will go back to try different varieties.

This is the basic hotel restaurant at Portofino. Tile floors, open architecture, plain wooden tables. The wings were among the best we've ever had. The pasta bar was pretty standard, but you can't go wrong making your own dish. Where I had my issues was with the more pricey options. We had the horseradish crusted filet with shrimp and it was a great disappointment. The filet was over tenderized to the point of being mushy and the shrimp were undercooked. This can happen, but sending the shrimp back for refiring resulted in shrimp that were STILL undercooked. This was the most disappointing $200 meal I've had in quite some time. The service was excellent and my kids did love the pasta bar. One son had a cheeseburger and it was EXCELLENT.

So I guess the take home message on Trattoria del Porto is (at least when we were there) that the basic food was quite excellent, but they overreached with the fancier fare.

Great service - the only disappointment was that we had understood from the website when booking (and this was one reason for selecting this location for our family Xmas lunch) that Prosecco/Mimosas would be included in the $65 per head price. When we arrived we were told it was not so we ended up having to pay $38 for a bottle on top of the quite expensive buffet price - we didn't want to make too much fuss and spoil our Xmas lunch occasion. Otherwise we had no complaints - service and food were great and everyone enjoyed their time.

This restaurant is terrible! They should close down and start over. First, you need a decent chef ! We ordered our food and everything came out wrong, not to mention they forgot our order so it took 45 minutes just to get food. The manager and waiter were very nice, we felt sorry for them. When desert came, the gelato had a piece of plastic in it, glad I did not choke on it! I didn’t even bother the waiter with that, what’s the point? They know they have serious issues there, sorry but I will not be back!!

This was our first time dining at this particular restaurant and we had a wonderful experience. The service was impeccable, and the food quality was very impressive. Our server, Samantha, was positively amazing. We were very pleased with our experience and will return again soon.

Seated us 45 minutes after reservation, they told us they were way behind. The food- the turkey and prime rib was dry and over cooked and the deserts terrible- all for $250 for 4 people

Ate there for thanksgiving. Reservation was for 4:15, was seated close to 5. The food was so so, certainly not worth $65pp. Will not be going back there.
