Bright and mostly white, it is a sleek reinterpretation of Italian Art Deco along with the owner's collection vintage food and wine posters.
Bianca's menu ranges from a simple bowl of spaghetti carbonara to a Tuscan-style steak and a bottle of old Barolo. Featured dishes: shrimp scampi on soft polenta; frisee salad with fried oysters, poached egg, and pork belly; seafood fritto misto; salmon saltimbocca-style with sage and crispy pancetta; numerous pastas and superb pizzas; Chianti- braised short rib, and lamb shank in rich pan juices. For lunch there are heaping salads and inventive sandwiches using Italian ingredients

we did seat late, but in time for final order. No bread available, waiter was pushy, no service for dessert. not a good experience at all. staying for 2 more night, will definitely find another reataurant.
Price fixe not available that night .... I asked why ... “there’s a concert tonight’ would have enjoyed the $23 prize fixe...
Awesome place and VERY conveniently priced. Hidden gem. Love going here
A bustling Italian restaurant right in the lobby of the New Yorker. Service was friendly and prompt. A delicious menu to suit everyone. We had trouble deciding. The seafood risotto was loaded and delicious. Spaghetti Carbonara had a lovely smoky hint. The wine list was reasonably priced. Check out the illuminated wine list. We thoroughly enjoyed our evening.
We were driving into NYC and hit an unbelievable amount of traffic. We called ahead and said we were going to late and they said not to worry. We were an hour late, and even though they were extremely busy, they sat us down immediately. Our server was a lovely young lady, who was sweet, knowledgeable and had our meals put in right in right away. I wish more restaurants would have a server like her.
The food was amazing we had the chicken parmigiana which basically melted in your mouth and the veal Milanese which was perfectly done, and both were delicious. I wish we had more time to enjoy the appetizers and dessert, but due to an event at MSG and the traffic we just didn’t have enough time. I will definitely be coming back.
Great place to eat when going to anything at the Garden..second time there and all were pleased! If you go just know it's in a hotel so enter 481 8th and go to the right! Enjoy
Food was good . Lamb Shank one of the best I have had. Scallops and Salmon were excellent too. We were going to a concert at MSG and service was slow. Requiring us to eat quickly.
Good choice if you are going to a concert at Madison Square Garden. Very good Italian food—we had the lobster ravioli, pappardelle bolognese, and lamb shank, and we all tasted and enjoyed each dish.
Our waiter was great, and bought us a round of drinks. But be forewarned that this was because the kitchen was slow coming out with our food. The waiter knew we had to make a show, and was sweating it out with us. We had a 5:45 reservation for an 8:00 show, and the hostess seated us right on time. Allow time for dinner here because it takes a long time to enter the Garden thru security and then to go up MANY escalators to your seat.
But I would def go back. We enjoyed our dinner very much.
The food is delicious. The service is authentic. We felt like we were in Milan!
I have been going to Trattoria Bianca for quite some time now and have taken lots of friends and relatives to this restaurant. The food, ambiance, service, decor and location are all outstanding.Would highly recommend this place for lunch.
Very nice Italian-ish restaurant which has is unusually spacious, and delightfully airy and bright in ambience for a typical Italian restaurant in Midtown. Our only criticism is, like so many NYC Italian venues, the menu here attempts to "one-up" other places by offering mostly "different" dishes that can be described as too many eclectic dishes. The typical red-gravy or marsala sauce Italian menu is not offered here. Instead, we had to wade through many choices to find a meal we felt we could trust ordering. This is not a "meatballs and lasagne" restaurant. It should be noted that, what we did order was prepared and plated in a very lovely manner. The portions were more than ample (almost generous) and both of our dishes tasted quite good. Our waiter, who seemed to be an "old-time" guy there, was as charming, sweet and helpful as one could ever want in a server. He is one reason we would be glad to return. Overall, we felt this restaurant was very good.
A great place for lunch or dinner. Excellent food at a very reasonable price. Went in a group of four and no one was disappointed. The fried calamari were great and my Italian shepherd's pie was amazing! Will definitely go again.
Everything about this place is fantastic, including John. He is the best waiter I've ever had. So good that the title of waiter isn't good enough. You can't go wrong with this restaurant.
Very fair place near penn station
Staff proper but disinterested. Food mediocre lamb shank cold in areas, dried out in others as though it had been quickly microwaved (badly)
We ate here prior to Billy Joel concert at Madison Square Garden. The restaurant is very near the Garden. Was very busy. Food was okay. Service was okay. Nothing special. Michelle
Menu is typical Italian, with selections that should be acceptable for almost anyone. Prices were actually very reasonable for NYC, and food is very good. Service provided by an elderly gentleman waiter who made sure we were pleased with our meals and was attentive with being overly so. Great location in New Yorker Hotel, which is an art deco masterpiece in the garment district, and across the street from Madison Square Garden.
We had a great experience at Trattoria Bianca. We were sat right on time and had a very nice table near the back of the restaurant. Our server, Constantina, was awesome and you could tell she really enjoys her job because she was very friendly and has a fun personality. She was very attentive to our food and drink needs. Next time we go back, we will ask to sit in her section again.
Great location for dinner before concert at Madison Square garden. Food as service was excellent.
Ladies night out before seeing a relative perform in an off broadway show. Our waitress, Dina, was fantastic, personable and efficient. Food was excellent, served to the table all together and not one mistake in our order. Thank you!
Great location, lots of great dishes on the menu. Wait staff was fun, playful, and very competent. Gets busy very fast after 5 on a Friday, you definitely need a reservation. Very convenient to Madison Square Garden.
For the location, this place isn't half-bad — food, service or price-wise. It's very spacious, although the decor could be warmer. The food was fairly-priced for a restaurant outside of Penn Station/MSG in Midtown, and it was surprisingly not crowded on a Sunday evening. The service was good and attentive, and the wine pour was solid. But the food is definitely sub-par. The pizza is nice and thin, but the sauce lacked flavor and seasoning. My husband didn't feel strongly one way or the other on the tuna salad (basically a nicoise) or the meatball app. Casa Nonna is not far away and serves much better Italian food.
Excellent food in a fantastic location which finished off our holiday perfectly. Beautiful battered cod and pene pesto pasta with a great cheese pizza for my 7 yo. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for art deco surroundings in a restaurant with beautiful food. We will be back i promise!
Mark and Family. Liverpool, England.
Food was good & service excellent. Four people going to hockey so we wanted to be in & out and we were. Good place.
The prix fix lunch offered great choices and good value.
Service and food were very good. I plan to be back.
Restaurant was really nice. We had tickets at msg after dinner. Service was great. We were not rushed at all. We enjoyed our pasta dishes. Very delicious. Big portions too. The pizza was just ok. I would return if I was in area again.
Great location and atmosphere. Service was ok. When I ate here before the linguini was obviously fresh and homemade. This time it looked and tasted like boxed pasta. Still good but not great like I was expecting. A decent place for a business lunch.
Food was great, service-fantastic, very friendly, not rushed, which was great because we were a large party...would highly recommend.
It was okay. I has been better. New waiter. I don't think his head was in the game.
Very good value
We all enjoyed our foods and service was great
The veal was tender
The pasta bollaise was very good as well as the calamari
Nice flavors and service was great!
trattoria bianca is our go-to place from the office for drinks or a nice calm well-served uncomplicated meal
Great food & friendly wait staff
This is the second time we’ve eaten here, while staying at The New Yorker Hotel. Excellent food, service and atmosphere. Dimitri was our waiter and he was fantastic. We visit NYC at least twice a year and will absolutely be back.
We met friends for lunch in the city. Trattoria is a block from Penn so convenient
The food was good nice and quiet for conversation comfortable we keep Trattoria in mind when we return to the city.
Everything was delicious and the staff was awesome.
Service was exceptional and one of the best steaks I have had!
Love this restaurant!! Food is always delicious and service is always friendly and wonderful.
