Trattoria Belvedere Ratings and Reviews
What a fantastic find in NYC! The food was extraordinary - everyone at my table greatly enjoyed their dish. The prices are also very reasonable for New York City. I was very impressed with the service - they were attentive, charming, and even offered to make the dish any way that we would want. It was a very quiet and cozy atmosphere for a Saturday night - great place to go if you don't want to be shouting at your dinner guest all night! Also, save room for dessert - the tiramisu was to die for!
We had 90 minutes for a quick dinner near 30th St., and based on the reviews we went to Trattoria Belvedere. In particular, we went to try the amazing Buratta, and we were not disappointed. Next time we are not splitting one. The Veal Marsala and seafood with black linguine were also delicious. We were done in time and the price with a bottle of wine was reasonable. Definitely we will go again.
The food was sooo delicious! We had visited this family restaurant in the Sunmer 2016, & when we came back to NYC Christmas 2017 we had to come back, so good! The ministrone soup & ravioli are amazing! Best Italian restaurant in Manhattan in our opinion 😊!!
When we arrived at the restaurant I went to check in with the host and was told to get out of the way. When I relayed that I wanted to check in for my reservation at 8:30pm I was told that it doesn't matter and I need to get out of the way. There was a family who informed me that they had been waiting for 45 minutes and told the same info that the restaurant does not care if you have a reservation. They also booked through opentable. It was extremely disappointing as I had my family with me that only visits NYC once a year.
Arrived at 6:55 PM for our 7:00 PM reservation. It took 5 minutes for the staff walking by us half a dozen times to greet us. They asked how many were in our party and when I replied we had a 7:00 PM resvervation for four, he told us to wait at the “bar” (4 ft wide shelf without any stools and with liquor being served from behind it). We then proceeded to wait twenty minutes without any further communication until we were finally seated at table large enough for two people directly in front of the entry door. Rather than sit crammed into a table too small for us, in front of a cold entrance, with hordes of people waiting over our shoudlders, we voiced our displeasure and were told we could have a four top table in the corner that was opening up at that moment.
After waiting five more minutes while that table was prepped, we were then told that we were not getting that table, but rather would be seated at another table sized for two people. Based on this as well as the miserable looks on the faces of previously seated patrons, we opted to leave and find another restaurant.
In short, this place does not know how to take a reservation and does not know how to communicate with its patrons. Worse yet, one of the severs was wondering aloud why we were getting so upset throughout this process.
Atmosphere is fantastic. Such a quaint place, warm and inviting. The food was great, but the wait staff seemed to just be turning in circles. They would follow each other around the restaurant in a haphazard sort of way and seem to forget why they were coming over in the first place. Once we finally did order the food was there freaky fast.... hot and delicious.
We were looking for something close to where our British friend was staying and found this lovely Italian online. Got great reviews and they were spot on. The buratta appetizer I had was out of this world as was the fettucine with sausage and green peas in a tomato/cream sauce. Everyone enjoyed their meal and the staff was attentive without being overbearing. Will definitely go back.
My wife and I both consider this establishment our favorite restaurant in the United States. Whenever we travel to New York City we make certain to place a reservation to dine at this outstanding restaurant that is 5 stars in food, service and atmosphere. Truly the food is consistently good, always offering sensational specials, along with an extensive wine list, the service is by far the best one could receive in any fine dining establishment. The decor and ambiance are conducive to enable any celebration or to merely dine out, especially if you're a local, it's a neighborhood gem! We look forward to our next visit to Trattoria Belvedere.
Authentic, delicious food. We had the pasta fagioli, meat lasagne with bolognese sauce, lobster ravioli with shrimp sauce, tiramusu and the perfect Super Tuscan wine. The restaurant is quiet and private, with impeccable service. Try it, you will not be disappointed!
Came here with my wife and daughter while visiting NYC. Traditional Italian food. Well prepared but nothing special. service was prompt but nothing special. not a hugely extensive menu but everyone should be able to find something they like. Limited wine list by glass and the bottle. overall nothing spectacular but nothing tragic either. If in the area it is worth a try.
My son and I found this restaurant a couple of months ago. We really loved our dinner and knew we would be back. He has been back a couple of times and each experience was wonderful. On my second visit, I was not disappointed. We had a fantastic dinnner. The wait staff was friendly and welcoming. Everyone enjoyed their meals! Our table was ready when promised. Trattoria Belvedere is a neighborhood gem!! Don't forget to try their homemade tiramisu.
