We chose to eat at Trattoria Aroma-Williamsville when we arrived in the Buffalo area at the beginning of a week-long road trip in western and central NY state. We had such wonderful experience, we returned for a meal at the end of our trip! The food is authentic, high quality and fresh. The customer service impressed us very much. The staff was so friendly and attentive; one of our servers remembered us from more than a week before! I wish Trattoria Aroma were in my neighborhood----I'd be a regular customer.

Grilled romaine salad was exemplary & seafood was done just right. Ordered the featured small pizza as an app, I'd do that again. Server was a bit apathetic & didn't really know the menu, had to return to the kitchen to get a question answered. If she had the enthusiasm of your pizza man my experience there would have been perfect.

Cute restaurant, great food, quick service. The owner came around to talk to us and make sure our meal was good. Everyone was friendly. Everything we ate was delicious! We will definitely go back. The only reason I gave 4 stars for service was because our server didn’t seem to know questions we asked about menu items and how the food was prepared. But she went and found out the answers quickly for us. Overall, a great experience.

I don't do this, but our experience last night was so bad I feel I have to warn others. I'm not sure why TA had reservations available. My friend and I waited over a half hour to be seated for our reservation, and while we waited - we watched the hostess/manager/co-owner? go around from table to table doling out what looked like limoncello shots, and drinking red wine herself. It was NOT a good look - especially if the restaurant was busier than expected. When we were seated, our first task was to fix our own wobbly table. Then our server took our drink order. He proceeded to bring dipping oils, and the bread arrived about 10 minutes later.... still no beverages..... Our appetizer and salads arrived....a few minutes after that, my glass of wine appeared (not sure why it took 20 minutes to pour a glass of wine). My friend didn't receive her mixed drink until after our salads were cleared and the entrees had been brought to the table. While all this is happening - we are watching other diners doing shots given gratis by the hostess. Here's the thing - there seemed to be 3 people in the dining room aside from a bartender, but the servers meandered around as if they couldn't keep track of anything. It was clearly inefficient. I have worked in the service industry before. There was no reason for this. (Oh wait, maybe because at least one was drinking openly?) The server took our leftovers to wrap and brought dessert (cassatta cake was "meh"). We finished, paid our bill, then had to ask/wait for the leftovers to be found in the kitchen. It was super sketchy, and one of the reasons why we didn't complain to anyone during the meal. If the food wasn't decent (apps, salads, and wood-fired pizza was good), this would have been a complete fiasco. I do not understand why they'd keep open reservations coming in if they were stretched beyond their capacity. It was wholly disappointing and unprofessional. I will seek out other dining options in the future.

We have been regulars here for >15 yrs The Owners Reno and Roma are always present and ensure high quality Italian cuisine and wines in a comfortable and pleasant - usually relaxed environment (weekends are often busy) The current chef is excellent and routinely has creative specials that never disappoint The brick oven pizzas are always excellent as well

It’s been years since I’ve eaten at Trattoria Aroma. I have fond memories of eating there with my mother. On this occasion while the food was very good once we received it, the wait was very long and the service was poor. The wait for our drinks seemed take forever and they showed up one at a time for 3 of us. No bread was offered until we had to ask for it. The waitress did not appear to know what the menu items meant. I asked her what “brodo” (broth) meant and she had to ask. The salmon was piccata but no capers were on the plate. Perhaps this is the state of restaurants today, unfortunately.

The Trattoria became a favorite within 15 minutes of arrival. Friendly greeting to a welcoming atmosphere. The owner and staff were warm, professional, and efficient. Service was excellent, only to be outdone by the food and wine. The owner recommended the daily specials, which we ordered, and they were fantastic - apps and the owner’s special-order wine from Calabria were delicious. (2 bottles made it home). The Halibut fish special certainly was special; flavorful and tender. A little desert followed by limoncello and espresso completed the evening. Certainly a must try if you are in the Buffalo area. This is my new go-to choice for the next visit nearby. Give it a try - Buon Appetito!

We went to the restaurant for my son's Birthday. The place was pretty much empty and it took almost an hour for our food. I had veal and the portion was very small for the price. The waiter and manager were apologetic and did bring us a after dinner drink of limoncello. When I made the on-line reservations, I was asked if it was a special occasion but no one at the restaurant acknowledged the occasion. I had to enter my credit card to make the reservations. ? Overall experience fair to poor

Try to find a restaurant open for Sunday dinners & it’s near impossible. We found that Trattoria Aroma was open so decided to try. The food was delicious!! It’s all a la carte so check out the menu to plan affordability.

Reserved through OpenTable. Manager wouldn't let our waiter put in an order for appetizer without putting in full order. Once ordered, took an hour, then the waiter brought out everything at once. As we were packing up to leave, another waiter came asked us to leave since they had another reservation incoming. Nonsense. Food not worth the service; even with better service, food wouldn't have been worth the price. Won't be coming back.
