Trattoria Abruzzo Ratings and Reviews
First time here and won’t be the last. All four of us enjoyed our dinner and the service was exceptional. They did something no one had ever done for us. We were waiting to be seated except the two ladies at our to be table were all paid up and just gabbing away with no intentions of leaving. The restaurant approached the ladies and kindly suggested that they move on since there was some one waiting to be seated. You have to realize that this is a very small and popular restaurant, so tables are at a premium. It was all handled with the greatest diplomacy.
Outstanding Italian cuisine! The setting is not anything special, just a store front space in a ground level strip mall, but the food cannot be beat. The restaurant is small, with more tables outside on the sidewalk than inside. While we were there, every table was filled, so reservations are a must. The service was attentive, and the daughter of the owner spent time to make us feel welcome.
Don't miss this eatery if you are in the Vanderbilt Beach area of Naples.
Although this is one of our favorite little local restaurants, this week was not up to par. It's not the restaurant's fault - everyone loves them, so they are absolutely mobbed during season. They do their best, but my pasta was a little doughy, where normally it is super tender. And, big groups should not be seated inside. The restaurant is very small, and while we were there, there were 2 tables of at least 6 people. The noise was overpowering and really made it impossible to enjoy our meal (one group was right behind us). That many people together like to shout at the people on the opposite end of the table - it's just what people do - but it's not fun for anyone else. And as usual, they were oblivious to how loud they were...Oh well, season eventually ends...
Sat outside, was ok at first, but very noisy, hard to talk. Was at a table of 4. Service was ok, waiter had trouble remembering drinks and seemed to be in a hurry. Food is good most of the time. Some items are hit or miss, the homemade pasta is a nice touch, but can to thick sometimes ( not always consistent) . The only other thing is I wish they had a full bar. Other than that, nice place. Recommend to go when it is not Season here in Naples., quite and better service.
Trattoria Abruzzo has been one of my favorite dining spots but this last visit was very disappointing. We were seated 30 minutes after our reservation time. It took 20 minutes to get a glass of wine and another 10 minutes to receive the menu. After ordering, the food took about 30 minutes to arrive. Overall, the service was abrupt, sub-par and disappointing. My advice, if you really want to experience their excellent food, go very early or very late and avoid the outside tables.
This has always been my favorite Italian Restaurant in Naples. I must say with great disappointed that on recent visits it seems very inconsistent. Waiter was totally confused, shrimp was undercooked, and the combo of pasta dish was dry and totally unlike past preparation.
Very difficult to find parking. I ended up across the street in a hotel lot. I was told by someone else that Tuesday night is cheap movie night at the theatre next door and that was the problem. The food is excellent but the restaurant is small and our party of 8 would only fit outside on the sidewalk. The result was a lot of noise and no ambiance.
I would recommend any night other than Tuesday and try to get a table inside.
As always, the food, service, and overall experience was great! On this Saturday evening, we were seated outside and thoroughly enjoyed the fabulous singing of a young man, accompanied by his father on electric piano. He was incredibly talented. It was a beautiful evening and experience!

Every one has pleased with this restaurant experience.
I have been coming and loving for four years. I was so excited to introduce to friends. I was disappointed this time. Prices up and old favorite missing. For the price we should have a small salad. We have reservations for six in a few weeks and are thinking about changing them. So sad
My husband and I had gnocchi with braciola stuffed with prosciutto, fontina cheese, and broccoli rabe. It was delicious, the gnocchi were very good, but the braciola was outstanding and I would highly recommend this dish. This was our first visit and will definitely be back, we also had a wonderful and very attentive server Alberto.
Abruzzo is unquestionably the best Italian restaurant in Naples. The food is very fresh
And the pastas are homemade. Everything is delicious!
It is a small restaurant, but also has outdoor seating. You will definitely need a reservation and I would recommend doing it several days in advance.
You won't be disappointed!
